I went here last year to start learning how to skydive.

It was windy out but we went through all of the training anyway.

It ended up being wayyy to windy for me to jump alone, so I asked them to let me do a tamdem so I could at least experience it.

They were more than happy to let me do it and it was a ton of fun!

Everyone was super friendly, super helpful, and made the entire experience completely awesome.

I would recommend this place to anyone.

Thanks!

I went to Freefall Express for the Aff class. Penny was a great instructor. I felt very comfortable going into the air after her class. Brian and Nicole took me up for my 1st solo jump and they were awesome. All of the staff is friendly and very helpful. The following weekend it was raining but Brian still took the time to teach me how to pack a parachute and explain how they work in more detail. I would highly recommend Freefall Express for anyone interested in skydiving.

I went to FFE to do AFF but the winds were way above 14. They let me do the ground training anyway and Penny was a great instructor! I felt pretty secure in that if something went wrong I would know what to do! Although the winds were so high I still wanted to jump so they strapped me to Justice for a Tandem. He was awesome and explained exactly what we would be doing and how it was different from AFF.

Since it was my first non static-line jump I decided to have it videoed. Fletch made an awesome vid in a really short time with music that was perfect for the seen. The pictures turned out great as well!

The landing was nice but the wind caught our chute a little. Hopefully Justice can still have kids (sorry bro!)

Overall I had the best time of my life and felt safe doing so. I'll practice what I learned and will be back out to the same DZ next week for some more!

Thanks FFE!

Had a great time my first jump(aff) . Had a great instructer (thanks penny). Got gary and fletch for my jump instructers they were great. Wanted a video but was told that the density count was to high to get 4 jumpers up that afternoon. Fletch videoed the jump from the instructor position and it was still great. they allowed me to review the video before purchasing it and gave me a discount. I was invited back the next day even if I didnt jump just to hang out and ask questions, all the instructers were friendly and very helpfull. will be going back soon even though I have a dz closer.

I absolutely had a wonderful time celebrating my 21st birthday by skydiving! Thank you Justice, Lyn, and Fletch! The video and pictures were great. Justice you made me feel comfortable and I all around had a great time. Thanks for an awesome ride! Best experience ever. I plan to come back, hopefully soon. I'll be looking for you Justice...because there is no way I can do it alone. Ha, at least not yet! Thanks again!

Everyone was very welcoming. Nice landing area. The owners and everyone else made me and my friends feel right at home. It is very pretty there. Nice hangar to pack in. I would make it my home dz if it were just a little bit closer!

To Lyn, Bryan, Justice & Fletch, "THANK YOU ALL" for a lifetime worth of fun in a few short minutes. You all have given me a memory to last forever. I wouldn't just recommend "FREEFALL EXPRESS" to just anyone...I would recommend it to "EVERYONE'!

They know how to keep turning the 182, it was well organized, they had plenty of snacks and refreshments. There student gear is very new and top of the line.I never had a problem for the two days I was there. They made me feel welcome. I will be back.

My first trip out I stopped at the other DZ and he seemed disinterested.
I thought maybe it was the wrong building so off I go to free fall express just across the drive and man what a difference!
The wolfords welcomed me in and made fell right at home.
I have 15 jumps now, all at FFE and plan on doing many more there!
I was at the wrong building after all,
Its funny, the difference a smile makes.
The staff are all great people, willing to help and teach.
They take great care in keeping the facilities up and the service is topnotch!

I'm a student from a Static Line drop zone, I have problems in sub terminal air so I have like 12 static line jumps, they had no problem taking me up on an AFF jump and giving me a few hours of ground training for free! I was hesitant to quit, but because of this drop zone I am hooked! As someone said something about the neighboring drop zone, I went and talked to the guy, he was being really rude at first till he realized I was not a regular and was just trying to be nice. Id say Free Fall Express is the better choice of the two!

I did my first AFF jump here, and they opened the DZ on a Tuesday just to teach my group of four. After a fantastic experience and wonderful video, I was hooked. I moved to South Carolina a week later and pursued skydiving. I came back to Freefall Express after 55 jumps and 4 months to do a "big boy" jump and had an excellent time. By the time I made it there on a Sunday, they had already called it a weekend. They recognized my face and after hearing the story, they organized a sport jumper load just for me and we went up and made an awesome jump. These guys love the sport, and truly exhibit the right attitude to have in skydiving. We all could learn from the staff at Freefall Express. Thanks, guys.

My wife purchased an IAD gift certificate for me for Christmas. I didn't get around to using it until August but now wish I hadn't waited. I switched over from IAD to AFF once the class started and the instruction was top-notch. Safety is stressed constantly and emergency procedures are discussed and practiced over and over. The wind picked up that day and students weren't allowed to go up, as a safety precaution. I came back the next weekend and jumped for the first time. I got awesome instruction, a fantastic video (thanks Fletch!), and an experience to remember. Since then I've made two more jumps and will continue as I can afford it.

I just completed my 3rd IAD jump. From the first day I have been treated great. The instructors are so excited and eager to share their knowledge of the sport. You can really tell that they love what they do and want you to share it. I am now in love with the sport and the DZ, I can not wait to go back! I am so glad I made freefall express my home DZ!!!

I am a 56 year old lady. Everyone in the place was extremely nice. My friends and I went tandem. We had to wait around for an hour or so for the clouds to clear off, so we were able to chat with the people who own Free Fall Express, and the people who work there. EVERYONE was so nice and truly made us feel comfortable about what we were about to do. We all loved the people, the place & the JUMP!!

I did my firt jump at FreeFall Express. From that jump onward I was always treated as part of the family. They have many knowledgeable staff members to answer the many questions that a student may have. Even after I got my license the staff was still more than willing to help me. I drive 2.5 hours every weekend to skydive there. I couldn't imagine a more caring staff.
I couldn't have asked for better instructors during my aff training. In regards to comment that their staff is poorly trained because an aff instructor had aad fire, that instructor had his aad fire because he cared enough about his student to chase her on a level 7 aff jump and get a canopy over her head. After debriefing that jump, the same instructor got on the plane and jumped with that student the next morning.

This was my first jump. I don't think I could have had a better experience if I would have told them exactly what I wanted and then they did it. The entire staff was so friendly and professional. They were VERY professional but not to the point that you didn't feel right at home. I wish I could wake up and jump everyday. The whole experience was phenominal. I must admit that we were suppose to go to the "other" place but we accidentally went to Free Fall Express. This was the best mistake to make. After talking with the staff and getting to know them while waiting for the weather to clear...we knew we had made a good decision to stay at Free Fall Express. I can't wait to come back and do it again....next time I will try to solo jump. I know with the great experience I had with the tandem jump...the staff will have me completely prepared when I am ready to solo jump. One more thing...the photograhper was just great. I have shown my DVD to friends and family and the photographer captured the whole experience so well that they felt like they were there. Thank you Free Fall Express for making this whole experience more than I ever thought it would be.

Freefall Express is the best!! The staff and owners make you feel welcome the entire time. Once you're there more than an hour you feel like one of the "family". The instructors really care and make learning fun. Safety is always #1 - they even make learning safety fun!! I don't think you could find a better DZ in the midwest if you searched the rest of your life.

Bryan and Lynn are the BEST! My home DZ is Quantum Leap. Needed a repack and QL was closed for the weekend. Bryan set me up, tolerated my annoying questions about reserve re-packing and I did 4 loads that day. I had just got the 'A' license, had yet to jump my own gear, and yet to jump out of a cessna. I had an AWESOME day. It is almost 2 hours for me to drive there, but worth it every time. The shower set-up makes camping overnight sweet. Bring a cooler. When QL closed in July '06, I was a "homeless skydiver". FFE "took me in" so to say. There are no clicks, you never want for someone to jump with - or work with you on your own skills. For a small DZ this place is big on everything that counts!!

I read the posts and now it's time for my two cents.
I recently started jumping at FFX after a layoff. Bryan Wolford, DZO, was more concerned with me getting back up in the air safely, than getting back up in the air. I must preface this by stating that I have held AFF-I, Vector Tandem-I, S/L-I ratings, and have competed in CRW competitions world-wide. 20+ years in the sport, and I have over 6000 jumps.

I don't know the reasons for the AAD fires, but I will ask I do, however, know that aircraft maintenance, as well as student gear is of the hightest quality and caliber. Sure, there are times when something breaks, but I have never seen safety compromised at all.

That said, I have jumped and taught at the "large" DZ's in the U.S. and Europe. This is a small Mid-West DZ, and if you're bumped, it's probably for a good reason. There are also reasons why Bram and Elly Clement are now part of the staff and family. They bring a wealth of instructional and experience that is envied at other DZs. The entire staff is knowledgable and capable, else I would jump next door. Nothing against our friends next door; I am comfortable with FFX.

I would ask that the folks who posted the negative give us another shot. You don't have to say who you are. Just don't pre-judge based on one experience.

Thanks,

Jeffery Ross

When I went to Freefall Express, I found the regular up-jumpers to be very freindly and social. However, after I questioned the aircraft maintainence, I found myself being snubbed by the husband/wife owners. Then after being bumped from three loads I went to the DZ next door, Skydive Missouri. I was able to make four jumps, two of them with a 3 time world champion and did not get charged for a coaching jump. Feisty and his gang are some of the best people I've had the pleasure of meeting.

I had to laugh at the posts here as they are all from the staff. When I was there the 182's could not stay in the air. there were problems with the only one that was flying and one of the staff said the other was not flying cause they stole parts off it.

I watched one aff student and instructor both have aad fire off.

shame as the place is open and not far from town with food and motels. Needs good airplane a staff that is experienced.

Moved here to Mt. Vernon for the DZ. Everyone welcomes you as if they have known you all their lives. Colorful people from wild to mild and that in between. RW to Freeflying and Hybrids. No matter what your level is, you can rest assured that someone will jump with you. The friendliest DZ in Mo. where safty is always the number 1 concern.

I find Freefall Express to be one of the finest dropzones around, and the best dropzone that I have been to in Missouri. The staff is very knowledgeable. And FRIENDLY! There are TWO S&TA's there that make sure all skydives are done safely. The owner, Bryan Wolford is an AFF Jumpmaster, Tandem master and FAA Certified Parachute Rigger. They have staff packers to meet anyone's needs. There are a great group of regulars most of which are rated in some form or another from Coach to AFF. All the student and tandem gear is state of the art. They try to accomodate anyone and everyone. There is a variety of people to jump with in any style you wish, be it freefly or RW. The dropzone owns two C182's and regularly gets turbines (porter, caravan & CASA). If you are in the area, you can't go wrong giving this place a try. And if you're not in the area, make sure that you are during one of their boogies because you won't be dissappointed. This group really knows how to skydive AND how to party once the plane is tied down. The dropzone is THURSDAY through SUNDAY. Call the owner in advance and you could probably jump anytime you want 1-800-598-JUMP. Even if you can't fill the load, he can probably make a few calls and fill it for you for a little during the week jumping. Freefall Express Skydiving at Mount Vernon Missouri, a very COOL place to be.Constanly updating & upgrating the DZ. Come see for your self!
