Not big or commercial and with many experienced divers, many have been around for more than 30 years, just like the drop zone. If you are looking for a laid back crowd who love seeing new people, this is the place. On first appearances the place doesnt look like much but when you begin to train and learn you can tell that your instructors truly care about your safety and apptitude while jumping. The surrounding area is almost all open fields so there are plenty of outs, which is good if you are new to the sport. Also, being able to take off from a grass strip means you can go directly from the gear hangar to the plane and take off without any taxi time or air traffic to worry about. A GREAT PLACE TO JUMP!!!

I earned my A license through the static-line progression at the Greene County Sport Parachute Center. The entire staff's continuous attention to all aspects of safety impressed me again and again as I worked towards my license. If someone here tells you not to do something or to do something a different way, it's because they've probably seen it go wrong first hand and know it won't work.
The aircraft are EXPERTLY maintained, as is all the rental gear. From the pilot's seat, most of the pilots can spot as well as the guy looking out the door.
It's a great place to learn to skydive, or to jump if you are an experienced jumper with 1000's of jumps, as several regular jumpers do. There's always someone to belly fly or free-fly with.

Was a life goal, wanted to jump forever. Finally got the chance and was not let down. Jim was great to work with. Understood instructions and easy to follow. Had a great fall and a wonderful decent. Felt extremely confident and safe, would recommend and will come again.
Thanks for a great experience. The view was great the rush was even better

GCSPC has a lot to offer. If you like to FF or belly fly there are always a group of people that will jump with you; so if your not a local no worries with that. They are a little ways from town but that's cool with me. They have the "Lost Cajan Cafe" right on the DZ if you get hungry or thirsty. The packing area is huge. Its not covered however the trees keep the sun off our rigs. If you have family or friends come out they can play a little volley ball or basketball while you play as well. This is the best place in Kentucky to jump. It doesn't matter if its your first time or your 1000th time.

Look, I call it like it is………
Did my first jump tandem at Taft CA., started my AFF at Tulsa OK and finished my “A” at Greene County Sport Parachute Center.
I’ve just returned from California and made several jumps from a couple of large DZ, “had a Blast and one close call”
But again, calling it like it is……….. Greene County is GREAT, the People, Staff, Atmosphere (Hats off to Jim, Dan and a couple of others, sorry guys for not remembering names)
This DZ is not the smallest I’ve been to, but it is busy as hell ! And you ask why? Well, summed up in one word “FUN” There are lots of first time jumpers “Tandems” and with safety is at first priority, the “FUN” parallels at all times.
Having problems with some of your skills, never fear, someone or any of the great jumpmasters with help you out, just ask and you’ll be on your way to help and perfection.
Stay late on Sunday, and for a couple of buck, you’ll get your belly full of some great food.

Good place to jump. I am from a big DZ and was not use to the real old school feel of the people there. but they were great, and i had great coach jumps by jeff. The old beaver was very cool, and adds another plane to my list of jumped planes. Over all it is worth the 15-20 minuted from the interstate. And prices are good as well. I would check them out if you are in the area.

I starting jumping July of 2003 at GCSPC and was immediately impressed by how seriously safety issues are taken. As a new jumper I always feel there is someone to go to when I need some help. Every one is willing to help a new jumper to become more a better jumper. On my 30th jump I had a malfunction that I cut away. By the time I had reached the ground, my reserve bag and main had been retrieved. I have since determined why the malfunction happened and with the help of the folks at the dropzone I have fixed the problem.

I done my first tandem at GCSPC with Jim Moore, a week later I started AFF and let me say, they have a great amotsphere. Everyone is like family and even though I'm new, people already treat me like I've been there for quite awhile. Jim and the other JM's are very patient and understanding. They realize the sport takes time and they won't put you in the air until you are comfortable and they think you won't "burn the jump" (waste your money on your AFF progression, just because you feel you HAVE to jump).

Great dropzone. Highly recommended. I'll finish my AFF here and continue jumping.

Stopped by on my way to Tenn. Grass strip on private property. The vintage Beaver is very cool. Great view of the hills. Historic town. Really, only 15 minutes from I 65...
