Skydive Kentucky - Elizabethtown

My home DZ is in central IL and I really needed to jump. I did some searching online and found this DZ through dropzone.com, and read all the great reviews. I took the 4.5 hour drive and made it right when they opened up. They had told me that they wouldn't have a pilot till a little bit later, no big deal. The DZO was there and knowing that I wasn't from the area he had offered a map of the area so I could find something to do. When I got back he gave me a very informative orientation about the DZ. I don't have that many jumps and he was willing to help me out with all my questions. In addition to that, all the fun jumpers that were there were really nice. Just a nice friendly place all around. Their C-182 climbed very quickly and the view was a nice change of pace from all that corn and bean fields I'm used to. The bottom line is that everyone there made me feel very welcome and helped out a lot. Such a great DZ and I will be back whenever I get the chance to. Keep up the great work!

I loved every minute of it, from start to finish. It was rescheduled four times due to weather, but well worth the wait. Not once did I get nervous. Staff made you feel completely at ease. Mike was awesome and went over instructions several times to make sure I was prepared.

I will be back, guaranteed... If you have never done this you need to.

It was the most amazing thing I have ever done. All the instructors were very nice and made everyone feel really comfortable even if they were nervous. Would recommend to everyone!

I had just one day in the Louisville area and decided to go jump. Skydive Kentucky is only 55 minutes outside of the city and an easy find. Amazingly nice people that would welcome even the newest student to the oldest fun jumper. Not just a tandem factory and nice facilities. I would definitely go there again to fun jump!

Fun little dz. Beautiful ride to altitude. Good atmosphere, was welcomed as soon as I walked in the door and easily found some up jumpers more than willing to jump with a visitor to the area. I will definitely visit these guys again if I'm in the area again!

From the time I got there, the entire staff was very pleasant. They seemed to really enjoy sharing this experience with me. Jim, Mike, Corey...You guys are awesome. Thank you, Tammy for setting me up with appointments for more jumps. Considering I was getting ready to jump out of a plane, Jim and Mike had a very calm demeanor which, in turn helped me relax a lot. Customer for life. Thanks to everyone there.

Everyone at Skydive Kentucky was involved with me and my jump from the time I got there until the time I left. I felt very comfortable and really enjoyed chatting with the staff. They say fun is first, but I would contest that with saying they put your safety first! All staff stayed aware of conditions and made it clear we wouldn't be jumping if the weather was not optimal. My instructor was thorough from start to finish and I had the greatest time. Can't wait to go back!

As a Brit abroad I thought it'd.be a bit awkward, to my delight the opposite was true, Jim and all the crew made me feel welcome, were keen to get me on loads with a selection of kit to rent.
I arrived at about 3.30pm, and still got 3 jumps in before sunset at 7.
if you're in Kentucky go visit big Jim, honestly you'll not find a friendlier DZ in the Northern Hemisphere.

I had an awesome time checking off my bucket list. From the moment I walked in the door the staff was warm, friendly, and full of fun. Don't get me wrong, safety was priority. The staff went over all of the hand gestures untill "I got it". They made me feel like I was part of the team even though it was my first jump. I had the time of my life. I would highly recommend SkydiveKY to everyone.

Great place to for up jumpers or first timers. There's no bumping for tandems. First come first server. The secretary (boss lady haha). Couldn't be sweater and makes you feel right at home. The instructors and coaches are great. The owner is always there insisting on the greatest level of safety and fun. Try them out.

I felt safe knowing that most of the coaches and instructors have served in some branch of the service. They emphasise the safety precautions, but they manage to keep a strong positive feel. They are very energizing and welcoming. If you decide to take any of their courses, plan on adopting a new family. They become your parents, brothers and sisters. I think it's because you KNOW that they care about you.

Like how close it is to my parents house really like the people if I had more time planned on my vacation would have jumped all day definitely going to jump here again

Love it love I love it!! If your goin to skydive, definitely go here! If it's an hour or 2 drive from where your at, it's worth the drive ! These guys are well trained and know what they're doing! They will make you feel safe and train you well!!! I will go here from now on and recommend you do also! Hope to see you!

I would have to say it was the biggest rush I have ever felt in my life. Once we reached 9,000 ft. I started to doubt my decision to jump. “Whose idea was this!? Oh wait, it was mine.” Thankfully my instructor (Larry) was patient and a great motivational speaker. He was not pushy and did not have a personal agenda. His focus was on me and addressing my personal fear. Once the door opened there was no turning back. I was going to do this! With my mouth open and my eyes wide I let go of my control, laid my head into his chest and fell into a state of OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH!!!! As I later watched on the video but then a peace came over me as I took in the view, the wind and a couple of bugs. I wouldn’t trade my experience for the world. Best skydiving experience ever. The scariest part is the wavier, knowing you trust a hug skirt (parachute) and strangers (instructors/staff) with your life. SKYDIVE KY is amazing. If I had a chance to do it again I would, only this time I would do my best to pull the cord.

They covered the material for my first static line jump very well. I was quite confident in my training on my jump.

I've always had an interest but never wanted to be strapped to someone else and get the watered down experience. They teach you the concepts and make it simple then jump with you side by side to make sure you get it right. I never felt unsafe at any point and one of the most serene and peaceful experiences I have ever had. I will definitely be returning here to get my license and advice on custom gear. This place will be my second home for most of my free time while in the USA.

This was a 50th Birthday gift from my family. What started out as an anxiety filled idea turned into one of the best experiences of my life. From Tammy who greated us, to Jim & Kevin, our Jump Masters, to the rest of the staff, it was great from beginning to end. They were knowlegabe, experienced and provided all the training you needed to make the jump. But so much more than that, they made it fun. We were 14 strong (7 jumpers) and within the first jump, felt like they had been friends for years. Their expertise took something scary (jumping from a perfectly good plane) and allowed us to experience the unbelievable feeling of being between the earth & sky with exhileration - not fear. If you've ever thought about doing this - this is the place to go! We will talk about it for years & it would not have nearly been as great if not for the staff at SkyDive Kentucky! Thanks everybody for helping me to kick off the next 50 years with such a bang!

Everyone was very nice, and informative. You walk in feeling like your already a part of the group, you walk out feeling AMAZING.

I finished up my A license here... Jim, the DZO and S/TA was awesome with the review and information (it is nice to learn from someone with experience in every aspect of the sport), learned a lot of new information. The jumps were awesome, and they helped arrange a place for me to sleep. Everybody is close and it is like everybody is part of the family, and anybody that wants to jump is welcome to the family.

I had a great time and will not miss a chance to come back again in the future.

Jim and his staff went out of their way to make me feel at home while visiting their DZ for 3 days. A great place to meet new friends and enjoy some fun jumps.

If you have ever wanted to go skydiving this is the place to do so! they are awesome period make you feel safe, they take care of you and make sure you understand everything about everything! If your scared and nervous after you meet this group and head up you'll forget all about it hahah.! there great that's all I can say go here for the best experience of your life!!

This was my first time skydiving. My boyfriend and I both did tandem jumps. We both had a wonderful time and it was in large part due to the staff and especially the instructors. My instructor was friendly, professional, funny, and very kind. He helped me enjoy the experience to the fullest extent. My boyfriend also had an amazing time. The staff was informative and helpful. The plane was small but it did the job. Overall it was a great experience, one we plan on doing again.

I went with a group of 6 and it was the first jump for all of us. The staff was very friendly. Instructions were very thorough. Everyone was professional. I jumped with Larry Compton and I can't say enough about him. It was awesome! I can't wait to do it again! I highly recommended these guys, they're the greatest!

Never felt more alive. Everyone should try it!

I did a tandem jump at this Drop Zone Labor Day weekend and three weeks later I started my static line lessons! Three months and quite a few jumps later I did my solo! What an AWESOME experience!!! They provide the best mixture of self-education and instructor training and the instructors are always willing and capable of helping you with any part of your training. They are almost always available for jumping when you need them (they can't help the weather lol!) and will go out of their way to get you trained! Even when planes can't go up, they are there for questions and everything! They enjoy doing this tremendously and it certainly shows!!! They always keep safety first and I have always felt that everything was as it should be here. This dropzone is my home now and I look forward to many years jumping here!! If you are looking for a very friendly and very professional dropzone, whether its just for one tandem jump or to achieve an A license or more (LIKE ME!) I HIGHLY recommend SKYDIVE KENTUCKY!!! I always HAVE FUN here too!!
