Though I am from New Jersey, I began skydiving at SDC and learnt through the AFP program. The coaches are world record holders and some are even national champions. The student gear selection is huge and you dont have to be stuck on the same 280 that every student flies. You can find the right gear for you. In air radio, detailed briefing and de-briefing sessions, video of every jump make this the best place to learn. Their AFP program takes you directly to the A license. Come here to learn but start early in the summer cos Chicago weather is fickle.

Nobody in their right mind could possibly have anything bad to say about SDC. Awesome facilities, huge landing area, great people, etc.

This is without a doubt the best DZ ever. I got to meet the Golden Knights last time I jumped and their commander assured me that Skydive Chicago is the nicest DZ he has ever jumped.

We came for Summerfest and will return for this event again, it was awesome. There were plenty of loads and organisers. Aagain, if you have trouble with cliques and "skygods" remember they are just normal people and are quite happy to talk to anyone when approached, you just have to open your mouth and say hello. We met team Loki while there who were great people. When you can get a 100 jump package for $1400 and have $14 jumps for the rest of the year, this is the place to be. You will also eat well while you are there, the chef is brilliant and the food is better.

I recently went to SDC for my first tandem jump. The people were amazing. I felt I had a good grasp of what was going to happen on the jump after the class, which really put me at ease. My TM, my photographer, and the class instructor were all nice and knowledgeable. Excellent people mean an excellent jump. I highly recommend Skydive Chicago for first timers and pros.

I supposed I'm biased, as SDC looks to be my home DZ. I'm still a student, and don't have any other DZ's to compare SDC to, but I can't imagine there being any better.

The food is delicious, the non-skydiving entertainment is great (for my lame friends), and the people are among the most friendly and diverse that I have ever met.

The facilities are all top-notch, and safety is of course everyone's greatest concern.

For me, I was sold on the place when I discovered that some of the skydivers have bought trailers and simply LIVE at SDC whenever they can get enough time to jump.

SDC is my home DZ; I did both tandems and my AFP here, so I'm probably biased.

The people at SDC are very nice, friendly, and always willing to help out younger jumpers. The DZ has lots of experienced people in the various disciplines, and they've always been willing to help out with any questions, no matter how simple or basic.

The otters rock, the jumpers are safety conscious, and the DZ has tons of amenities for jumpers (including tons of indoor, padded packing area).

All in all, an incredible DZ for students and experienced jumpers!

I've been to ten drop zones. This is the best of those ten. I was there for Summerfest 2003 and the people were so friendly. They truly took me in and made me one of their own. Spread the love; its for real. There are lots of people who will jump with you in any discipline. I did 4ways, 5way, 6 ways, an 8way with Billy Weber, and my first 10way (2points and a completely free flown exit!) And some of the best skydivers in the world call it home. What else is good about SDC? Fast and comfortable airplanes, big safe landing area with lots of outs (the whole place is 300 acres), great food, an auditorium, a real bar (not just a counter and a cooler), a fitness room, internet access, a river with canoe rentals, a pond to swim in or swoop (I think you need approval from the S&TA to do that), lots of open area for camping, bonfires and cookouts by the pond, and the list goes on....

I came out that way a few months ago for my nephews' high school graduation. I gave him a tandem as his present. I was really impressed with how well he was treated. The instructors were great and the video guys were awesome. I was also impressed by how welcome I was made to feel as an experienced jumper. Everyone welcomed me and made me feel at home. Thanks guys. Can't wait to make it back out there.

I do like smaller DZs for various reasons, but I love this place. It to me is the Disney World of skydiving. There are all disiplines here with a hot world class freefly crew on board. I'm mostly a belly flier, but these guys are pure poetry in motion. I couldn't say enough good things about this DZ. Great location, secluded on it's own private property like a resort. There's nobody around, but jumpers.
If it became a club or association, I'd sign up for a life membership. Thanks for great facilities (that keep getting better) Roger.

Alright, I'm not at home but thats the feeling I get whenever I go to Skydive Chicago. I went through my whole student program @ skydive chicago and I haven't seen a nicer dz. Whether it's scenery, parties, peaceful serinity, or just a good first jump expierence, I've experienced all of that at Skydive Chicago. Huge landing area, private air strip, Excellent student/rental gear, manifest goddesses, and the Fox River 10,000ft below you as you fly around the mid west skies. Who can complain when you receive a free keg of beer because it had no place else to go!! If you are in Illinois and you're a skydiver come out to Skydive Chicago because you'll never be at a dropzone that is as unique and progressive.

chris.
