This is absolutely the best dz I have ever been to. The staff are incredibly nice and everyone makes you feel right at home. The equipment is top notch and kept in great condition. The large landing area is great for large loads and the length of the swoop pond is perfect for high speed runs. Don't bother with anywhere else, the farm is it.

I came down to Atlanta from Massachusetts to visit a friend. We had a free day and decided to try out the aff level one course. The instructors were outstanding; It's hard to complain about receiving instruction from former Special Forces airborne soldiers. The DZ is a good-sized piece of farmland about an hour west of Atlanta. I jumped with Mike and Blaine and knew I was in good hands the whole time, these guys are damn good. I would recommend "Skydive the farm" to anyone who asked.

Extremely friendly operators and instructors. Huge landing area, bus ride is actually pretty fun. Very relaxed but serious when it counts. I only wish I could go more often.

After a short visit to the Farm I am hooked. People where genuine, friendly, and very helpful. Their generosity (Hans, pilot, staff) all exceeded any expectations. This is a beautiful dropzone.

I did my homework before heading out and checking out this DZ. I read reviews on the internet and visited this DZ before deciding to call it home.
Hans and Sandy run a great home away from home. It is my first DZ and now I am happy to call it my home DZ. I have been out three times now, and just completed my AFF graduation and a few solos!
The training went very smooth. I asked a million questions and everyone was great including the delicious food Kim makes!
I will always be more than happy to call The Farm my home DZ. Thanks guys for everything...

I drive to the Farm almost every weekend or every other weekend from KY to jump. It's worth the travel. Location may be a little tricky to find out if you are coming off the Interstate from North. I go pass through Rome to Cedartown, then to Rockmart. People are awesome! It is a fun place to jump and hang out. You would definitely have a good time when you are at the Farm.

I decided to visit the farm about 10,000 miles away from home just as an impulse decision based on another British skydiver who convinced me to go.
I arrived and was made to feel very welcome instantly. Manifest is quick and infact its hard not to get on a load if you're ready.
Lots of facilities and simply an amazing club atmosphere.

This place showed me what skydiving is really about, I would suggest giving this place a visit in the future to anyone.

I jump here pretty regularly, but still enjoy visiting other dropzones. Can only describe the Farm as very cool.

The DZO will make every effort to make sure everybody has someone to jump with and have a great time. Everybody tries to follow that lead. Just one of the great things about this place.

The facilites and folks are great, so even going to the DZ and hanging out on a weather day is fun.

The rigging services are excellent.

The natural setting, cleared woods and ponds is good for the soul. Great place to pull up an RV or a pitch a tent.

The landing area is also excellent, but on a wind day, be careful near the hanger. Land out in the open instead. There are now seperate Hi Performance and normal landing zones, which I really like too.

The bus ride to the airport, about 5 miles, does add a bit of time, but who gets tired hanging with friends?

After hours at the Farm is always a good time. Everybody but the bus driver gets to go out and party.

I have noted a very real effort to educate and establish safe procedures on the DZ.

Th Farm is all about the Georgia I grew up in and love. If you have never been to Georgia, come check it out. Like I said, this is what skydiving should be.

My thanks the whole skydiving family at the Farm.

I been jumping here since I wrote the previous review about 4 years ago, and all I can say about the Farm is it just keeps getting better and better.

If you are a fun jumper you will love this place. I recently brought several tandems out and they all loved the place too. The boogies are great. There is plenty of free fly, swoop, and RW action going on. Camping here is not bad either.

Keep on getting better and better !

The first impression is everlasting. I planned a trip to The Farm and I must say that I never had so much fun. The facilities are top notch and the staff are amazing. I felt like people went out of their way to make me feel welcome. I highly recommend jumping there and experience everything The Farm has to offer. Thanks again!

I have just completed my AFF at the Farm and could not be happier. I will finish my jumps for my A licence there this weekend. If I am not grounded because of the wind. Everyone there has been nothing but friendly and helpful. All of the AFF instructors were awesome. Once I was done with AFF several of the experienced jumpers were very willing to help me out. I highly recommend the Farm to anyone new or experienced that wants a DZ where you can feel at home.

What can I say? "The Farm" is my home away from home on the weekends now. In December, while visiting family in Florida, I did my first tandem at Z-Hills. When I returned home I researched dropzones to see where I should attend my AFF. Located in Fort Payne Al I had a few choices relatively the same distance. I emailed several dropzones and got a honest response from Hans, the DZO. I called "The Farm" and Han's answered. He was very friendly and did not sound like a buisness man on the phone. I settled on the $1599 A-license package. It is a 25 jump package including ground school, all my AFFs, coach jumps, and equipment rental. I left work on a Friday evening and made it to "The Farm" late evening. Everyone was at a restauraunt eating. I called Han's and he gave me directions. From the time I walked in the restauraunt and got my first impression of owner Han's and his wife Sandy I was very impressed. It was a very comforting atmosphere considering the next day I would be jumping for the first time with my own parachute and these were the people that were responsible for my saftey. I have made 24 jumps since. The DZ is a great place to stay. Leave your tents at home. There is a bunk house and several fold out couches to sleep on. The night life is alot of fun. They have a bus that they will load up to go out to eat. It is alway nice to have a DD. It is a VERY friendly DZ. The staff is very courtious, professional, and saftey oriented. The experienced jumpers are friendly and always willing to give a helping hand to a newcomer like myself. Mike Gruwell, the South East Regional Director of the USPA, is the owner of CHUTING STAR rigging loft. I will trust his pack jump any day. He has already saved my life once on my lucky # 13 jump. Save #212. Check his site out www.chutingstar.com.
The DZ is also very dog friendly. If you have a four legged friend that behaves around children and other dogs then bring them with you. Everyone can come and play. I will be sad to move to Florida in the winter for my new job. However, I will make it a point to visit "The Farm" every year. Whether you are an experienced jumper or a newcomer to the sport, give "The Farm" a shot. I promise you won't be disapointed! See you sometime soon. Blue Skies!

Having visited the Farm several times, it was a no-brainer for me to move here permanently when my original home DZ closed down.

Read the other reviews for a DZ description and to get a feel for the vibes here which hasn't changed in the nearly 4 years it has been open.

You can't ask for a better DZO and beautiful DZ facilities and grounds.

Jumpers and Instructors here are some of the friendliest you'll find anywhere. You're not just a number here...you're a friend as students and experienced jumpers from around the country and the world have discovered.

December-February: Fri-Sun
March through November: Wed-Sun

Come on down...we'll leave the light on for ya.

Did my jumps 1-21 at the Farm. Everyone greeted and welcomed me right away willing to teach and share their knowledge. Wealth of knowledge at the farm in every aspect of the sport making learning on a fast pace VERY easy. Everyone is VERY helpful and wants to see you succeed and do well with everything as much as you want to. When waiting for the next load there is always someone showing video or jokes being thrown around. It is a ton of fun, Will miss it very much. I would tell anyone either just getting into the sport or experienced the farm is where its at and the place to be.

We did our first jump on Jan 27th. Everybody at the DZ was great. I wished I had seen the video they produce before I jumped because I would have gotten one. It was very cool to be standing in the doorway of the plane and looking almost 3 miles down to the abyss of the earth. We all had a great time and I would do it again. Maybe next time on my own.

Our spouses were calling themselves the beneficiaries :) To anyone considering a first jump that is a bit afraid, I woul tell them to just do it and there isn't much to worry about. Its really just a matter of having confidence over your equipment and your instructor and I have plenty of confidence of both when it comes to Skydive the Farm.

I am from Texas and discovered the Farm while working a contract in Atlanta. The DZO's Hans and Sandy are great people and will go out of their way for anyone - they even arranged to have another fun jumper pick me up in Mid-town Atlanta and give me a lift out there for the weekend. Its up in North Georgia woods, but with plenty of outs, beautful country. They have a nice clean bunkhouse, plenty of room for campers and trailers, hot showers, washer & dryers, large packing area, very professional staff and very easy going.

They really go out of their way to make you feel at home and ensure you have a great time. I have seen people come out and have a cut-away on their first or second jump of the weekend and the master rigger will drop everything and get you back in the air in a matter of a couple of hours...

Usually they fly a grand caravan and or porter, a little slow to altiitude, but good planes with great pilots and big doors. They are also happy to accommodate special requests - I love to do cross-country jumps, especially when there are winds at altitude...all I have to do is tell the pilot where I want to get out - and they will put me there - even 10 miles out!

Its a very family oriented DZ, lots of people bring their kids and they are running around on moterbikes or whatever having a good time.

Greg, who owns the land can often be found outside in the afternoon cooking bbq for everyone (free!).

Nite time on the weekend is always a good time. There is usually a poker game going on Saturday night and good parties all over the place. No "big screen" tv, but they do have a good sized TV in manifest with a few couches and DirectTV, along with wireless internet access.

I live in Texas and still make my way to the Farm at least a few times a year. Once a month they have a $139 boogie - all you can jump Sat and Sun for $139 - definately worth it.

The landing area is 55 acres, nice flat, soft grass that is well cared for. Two large ponds, plenty of outs...I have landed off a dozen times there and had people actually give me lemonaide when I landed in their pasture, and a ride back to the DZ - just good ole country folk.

Can't reccommend The Farm highly enough! Good time guaranteed. Thanks Hans & Sandy - see you soon!

I showed up, and the DZO already knew who I was. The landing area is really flat and smooth, swooping and surfing is very fun there. There are so many outs and alternate landing areas that it really makes it a safe environment. The pond on the other hand . . . it's just too long. (I kid) at 410FT - ( I think ) it is a formidable challenge - again - with outs and options.

Go there! Although nothing ever happens at The Farm, stories of nignoggery seem to happen anyway . . .

Just Go - You won't be sorry.

The DZO, Hans, personally introduced himself and made me feel at home. The atmosphere is a comfortable and relaxed farm with friendly people and varying levels of experience. The landing area, a skydiver heaven- acres of open land & minimal obstacles. The main jump plane is a Cessna Grand Caravan and a little slow to get to altitude but has a big door and comfortable bench/ floor seating. The AFF instructors and coaches are top notch and very professional. The view is beautiful farm and woodland of NW Georgia. There are a few little things that make the DZ 'differant' but not really better/ worse:
No large screen TV.
Children frequently present (keeps the swearing down).
Good food nearby but no cafe onsite.
A short bus ride to the airport

Overall, an awesome dropzone.

So up in the cold north, its cold- so my girlfriend and I migrated south for the weekend to jump. I went through a lot of websites and reviews thanks to Dropzone.com- finally settling on The Farm.

I was not let down, infact more impressed and having more fun than I could have planned.

Did all of the AFF levels on one weekend with awesome instructors, the most affordable program in the COUNTRY, and great weather (yes they control that too)! My girlfriend did her second- and favorite tandem jump. She too, absolutely loved the whole weekend.

Instructors (both AFF and tandem) are safe, thorough, and are always keeping things fun and exciting.

The DZ is easy to spot from above with many outs, though the weather was so tame you probably wont need them.

Go for a day- or stay the whole weekend like I did. Unmatched safety, hospitality, and fun.

It's easy to get to from Atlanta and the airport- no kidding all you have to do is follow ONE highway all the way there! (The road changes names and numbers but you just stay on it and you'll be there in no time.)

No cons really, but you definitely want to bring some grub just incase- no worries as just down the street there are plenty of options (Cowboys has tasty breakfast sandwiches and Zorbas has tasty everything.)

There is also a short 3 minute? bus ride which is actually a good time to meet people or catch up.

Lastly cost, real kudos to the DZ for prices that reflect a love for the sport over a love for money.

Great place!

i went down the the farm from ohio for a 139 dollar all you can jump boogie...the weather was kind of shitty, but it worked out that i had a really good time. people down there are really cool, i had a cut-away on my first jump and some locals went and found all my stuff, i walked in the woods for and hour and a half and came up with nothing, locals found it in notime and didn't even ask for anything, i offered beer, jumps, anything and they wouldn't take it. great place. i will be returing soon for sure.

Here is a copy of an email I sent to Skydive The Farm:

Hi,
I just wanted to thank everyone at Skydive The Farm for a great time Sunday. The people were very friendly, it was well organized and my son Bryan could not stop saying the word awesome when asked how he liked his tandem jump. I will definitely recommend The Farm to anyone I know who might be interested in trying skydiving. Great job!

Thanks!!

"Skydive The Farm" is nestled in the beautiful lush green countryside of Rockmart, Georgia. The grounds are manicured to golf course standards and the facilities are clean and well maintained. The 5 minute shuttle ride from the dz to the airport gives jumpers a chance to get to know each other.

If you Mapquest your trip, you may become confused. I recommend using the directions provided on the "Skydive The Farm" website. Also, construction on Thorton Rd./278 (coming from Atlanta) may prolong your trip time. Plan for delays.

This has been one of my best drop zone experiences. The staff was very genuine, friendly and humble. No attitudes, no assumptions. Hans, Sandy, Mike (Chuting Star Rigging), John and others made the long drive worth while. Thanks to all for a great experience!

All in all, it's one of the best DZ's that I have jumped at. I have stayed several nights there for boogies and the facilities are wonderful. Nice carpeted bunkrooms with two full bathrooms (with showers). They have a good variety of aircraft to jump from as well as a huge landing area. If there are any first-time jumpers reading this, I would HIGHLY recommend the tandems here. They are extrememly fun as well as a lower price than you will find anywhere else.
