This place has topped any other DZ I have gone to... The outs are there, although they are not needed as that pilot is awesome with spots... The staff is great, very professional and fun all at the same time. HUGE packing area. And a awesome bunk area with 2 bathrooms complete with showers. The grass in the landing area is cut often, so you wont have to worry about what might be hiding. There are 2 ponds , only one to use for swooping from what I understand though. The people are the best thing.... everyone is welcome here, it seems to also be a gathering place of skydiving orphans... there some of the nicest people around in this sport...

Great people to hang out and jump with. Beautiful scenery - from up top as well as on the ground. You want a fun place to jump? How about a fun place to hang out after jumping? Or even just a great place to watch jumpers? If that's what you want...here is where you should be.

Can't even begin to tell you how much I miss The Farm! I moved a little over 6 hours away back in December and the new job doesn't afford me the money to jump nor the money to pay for gas to get up there very often, but I have made a couple trips up to The Farm just to hang out. I shouldn't have been surprised, but I had just as much fun just spending the weekend with friends as I did when I was actually able to jump. Every time I go back it feels like I've never been gone, and it's always good to meet some of the pile of new people that have showed up since I've been gone.

Can't wait until I can make it back up to The Farm again!

I came back to The States this April for a wedding and met my friend down here to make a few jumps after. What a treat, first time there. Weather was great and the staff was the friendliest I've seen since leaving The Ranch. Huge indoor area for packing and dirt-diving, and my bud had evidently taken evryone's money in poker the night before. Really friendly, even after they realized I was from Germany and couldn't be a regular. The wife relaxed in the sun as I jumped; if she's happy, I'm happy (and jumping).

I'd go back in a second. Thanks guys,

Mike

What can I say. I haven't seen a dropzone with an overall feeling of home such as The Farm. For anyone who has been looking for that group of people that you want to be around and that want you around this is the place to go.

I first visited the farm in August with a bunch from Tallahassee(20) There's still a strong group(10) that will make the drive every week-end rather than jump locally. So, what does that tell you about the farm. The atmosphere is awesome and they have great instructors. Always beer available after hours and jello jay makes sure there's always a texas hold em tournament every week-end. If you haven't visited the farm yet then get off your ass. I drive 5 hrs every week-end!

This is by far the best DZ I have been to. Everyone there makes it feel like a true community of helping and sharing.
Hanz, Woody, Dave, Frank, Mike, and Lee make everyday there a blast no matter what's going on. You won't find more help and fun anywhere else. The one thing I love best about them is that they know everyone makes mistakes or does something wrong every once and a while and are always real cool about it and explain faults rather than being harsh or public about it. It makes the learning process much more enjoyable.

OK - while the rest of North GA was whining and complaining about the weather this weekend, Skydive the Farm was up and running... as usual! I only made it out for two half days (actually less than that... 1:30 on Saturday and 2:30 on Sunday with 6:30 sunsets) and still got in 9 jumps... and some of those were to altitude! As usual, the Farm was the place to be - helpful staff and coaches (I'm a newbie), several packers, and a rigger were on site. With the big, open landing area, even a new guy with a canopy bigger than most cargo chutes felt comfortable this weekend.

I love this DZ - whenever a staffer makes you stay in the aircraft or on the groud during an AFF jump course because they don't like the current conditions, you know they're out for your safety and longevity in the sport - not just a quick buck! That's why I keep going there, learning there, and bringing friends and family there. Come join me! Ask for Woody or Hans - they were EVEN able to help ME learn to skydive!

Skydive the Farm has the friendliest people of any dropzone I've been to. Even after being there for just five minutes, I didn't feel like an outsider.

They have a HUGE landing area, swoop pond, and a great staff. I'm on AFF right now, and I wasn't rushed through instruction ~ Hans and Woody will give you all the time you need to get ready for your jump.

It's a bit off the beaten path, but definitely a place I'm going back to in the future. 5 stars.

Hans and Sandy Rock!

I can't say enough about the people. Friends who would spend hours helping you look for a chopped main. Friends that love to nuture young jumpers. Friends that would video your landings whether you're learning to swoop or trying to just stand it up. Friends that will make sure you're alright when you bounce off the water, then laugh their asses off when you walk away from it. Arguably, more fun when the jumping stops and the beer light is on than when the plane is running. A place you'd want to be even if you didn't skydive.

Lets See.. Cheap Jumps, Great Air Craft, Beautiful Scenery (In more ways than one), Relaxed Atmosphere, Free Coaching, Two nice swoop ponds, and Huge New Hangar. The Farm has a lot going for it.

The Farm is a little different than your average DZ because it is not on an Airport. It is on a secluded 55 acre Private Farm. Very Relaxed and peaceful. On most weekends they jump the Porter, Caravan and/or Otter using the Grass Runway on the property, However if it is real busy and the loads will be full, They have a nice air conditioned shuttle bus that takes Jumpers from the onsite hanger to the Plane at the airport just 3 miles away. The Landing Area at the Farm is HUGE, Level and easy to spot from the air and there are outs everywhere.

Their Rental Gear is very new (Like everything at the Farm) and they have a good selection available for new Students. There are many coaches and highly experienced jumpers that will be glad to jump with you.

Every Load gets 14000ft or better for $15 a jump ticket. Their Monthly $110 Boogies are another great deal. $110 get you all you can jump and a Huge Party on Saturday Night.

They have a nice mix of Belly Flyers, Freefly Freaks, CRW Dogs and Pro Swoopers on a regular basis. No matter what your discipline is you will have someone to jump with and learn from.

They are working on completing the Bunk house, Permanent Restrooms and Showers.

It is a great place! Come out and plan on spending the weekend.

I took my IAF4 and my son AFF1 jump today at the farm. The entire staff was helpful, knowledgeable and a joy to jump with. Hans, Woody and Justin were awesome. We drove 4 hours to get there, and it was absolutely worth it. Thanks for everything, we'll both be back soon. We're still grinnin'!!!

I am so glad my hubby and I came to the Farm, I now consider this place my home DZ. It is such a layed back environment. I couldn't believe the difference from where I used to jump and how much better this place is. A huge landing area (and many great off landing areas......lol). I just fell in love with super otter which is now there. Even though I live about 4 1/2 hours away, it is sooooo worth the drive. I just love the people there also, they are such a great crowd.
I would recommend this place to anyone who asked and can't wait to get up there again. I mean I live in Florida, which has many closer dropzones, but I just love it up there!

Jumped The Farm for the 1st tme Sunday and can say this is a top notch DZ...
With acres of landing area even people like me can make it to the ground...
The staff is great and willing to help you in any manner you need.....The people diving here are the greatest, even if you are a low timer there are people here who would love to dive with you.....The folks here are just as friendly as on any DZ..
If you are looking for a no pressure, kick your feet up and have fun DZ, The Farm is it...

I'm from the North Georgia area, and I engaged in some pretty in depth research to try to find the best dropzone to complete my AFF certification before eventually deciding on The Farm.

When I called Hans, who operates The Farm, he was very friendly and "welcoming," which is not something I felt from every place I called. I asked Hans up front why prices were so low compared to the other dropzone in that area, and he simply said he felt that some other drop zones charged too much, and that some skydivers had been taken advantage of. They founded the The Farm because they want to do business in a way that takes care of skydivers and complements the sport.

To be honest, I was a little concerned at first about the equipment available at such a new and reasonably priced drop zone. When I arrived, those concerns were immediately relieved: state of the art rigs across the board, a huge recently constructed hangar, and an immaculate Caravan aircraft, with other aircraft available as needed. An Otter is also possibly on the way. The range of their rig inventory is impressive, with the ability to legally accommodate a very wide range of jumpers of all sizes and skill levels (I'm a 230 lb. beginner). Again, this is not something all drop zones do.

The landing field is tremendous, flat, neatly mowed, and soft. It is impossible (even for me) not to pick up this drop zone immediately from the air, and there are two large natural ponds on the property that swoopers can raid. A mobile restaurant also is on site, and they're building out brand new shower and bath house facilities. Overall, the whole place is just beautiful.

Even more important for me than the equipment and facilities were the people. And from the management to the packers and the other skydivers, every single person I met acted genuinely happy to see me when I arrived, and throughout the weekend, they offered friendly tips and encouragement, which I soaked up as a first timer. There were no unexpected charges from The Farm (other than a credit card surcharge of 4%), and everything from the instructor to the aircraft to the equipment was exactly as had been represented on the phone. All of these factors made the atmosphere of this drop zone feel safe and welcoming, like you were surrounded by good people who appreciated you.

Finally, the instructors were all thorough, motivated, patient and had thousands and thousands of jumps, which was important to me. Several instructors (other than mine) pitched in to help me with technique while waiting for another jump.

I also researched another drop zone in the same vicinity. Other skydivers I've spoken with have relayed negative experiences about business practices with this drop zone, practices that have since been confirmed to me by actual former employees. Although I do not have a personal experience with this other business, given the proximity of The Farm, the integrity of its management, its state of the art equipment and facilities, superior natural assets and, of course, fairer pricing, I have no reason to give my business to any other drop zone in the immediate area.

If you're coming from Atlanta, West Georgia, or East Alabama, I'd recommend giving Skydive The Farm a try. You won't be disappointed.

I had heard alot of rumors about some drop zones competing with one another,so I decided to check both out.Well business is business, when it comes to money go where you can get more for your bucks.I had a great jump and a good grass landing. If your out to jump somewhere different then this is the place. On the ride up, just keep looking and you will find the landing area.Makes good for practicing landings.Good luck guys,I"LL BE BACK.

The Farm is great! Landing area is wide open (great for a newbie like me). Everyone out there is extremely nice, easy going, and willing to help with anything you need. And....definitely can't beat the price! Everyone should come out and do a jump - see for yourself why its the best!

I just visited this brand new dz and I must say it was awesome. It is on a private 55 acre property that has two nature ponds, several wide open plush grass landing areas. The people there were awesome and it has a great vibe. I think that once they are finished adding the classroms and such this will be the premiere drop zone in Georgia.

If you are in the area or even near by, stop by and do a few jumps you'll love it. If the nature beauty of the place, people or the vibe don't win you over I am sure the price will, $10/14 upjumpers and $129 for tandems, call the dz to find out more.
