I came to Spaceland Clewiston for my second tandem, and the only regret was not starting off my skydiving journey here! I went to another DZ, and I had a great time but it did not compare to my experience here. My tandem with Spaceland was more involved, and more organized. Before signing up for my tandem with them I wanted to shoot them a few questions involving their STP course they offer. They were excellent with their communication answering my emails within the next day with all the information I needed. Scheduled the tandem for the next day, and made my way up there, they called me to confirm my appointment and was pleasantly surprised by that. Upon arrival I was met by friendly staff and honestly felt right at home. My instructor Gavin was really cool and answered all my questions I had, and I waited max 20 minutes before loading up and starting my ride up to jump. Would definitely recommend this DZ to everyone!! Can't wait to start my STP course with them!!

This past weekend I decided to go and observe what this place was about as I wanted to find a place to get my A license. I decided to take my sister for her first jump and we had a blast. Everyone was very friendly and we felt welcomed.
The dropzone was packed but within an hour we were jumping. My instructor Kazu asked if I ever jumped before and I told him this would be my 8th tandem, he laughed at me asking "WTF man, why dont you have your license yet?" I told him I was looking for a place where I felt comfortable. Before and after the jump he sat down and went over what made Skydive Spaceland Clewiston different from every other place. He took the time and went through their Skydiver Training Program STP.
The one thing he said that sold me was" Here, we genuinely care about our students". All I had to do was look at their facebook and see how many students have gone through their program. I will be back, hopefully soon.

I received a tandom jump for my birthday, oh boy.
I'm hooked. One of the most interesting things that I never expected was the atmosphere that is presented there, everyone and I mean everyone was very excited to see you have a great time.
I have now enrolled in the aff courses and up to jump #5 and every time I arrive and check in I get the same welcoming feeling as I did the first time we jumped. Very experienced instructors with a couple main goals: to make sure you stay safe and to relax and have fun. This is my drop zone!

A few corrections for what they wrote in the DZ description: altitude is no higher than 13,000 feet, prices are higher if not paying in cash and by e-mail they told me they're not open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Also, it would be nice if they offered smaller canopies for rent. Overall, very cool dropzone though

I recently finished AFF at a DZ up North and wanted to make a couple of fun jumps while visiting South Florida.

After reading the reviews here, I decided to make the longer trip to Clewiston even though I was staying in Miami...and I am glad I did. As a student, I am trying to get as much safe, solid instruction as possible. I made a few coached jumps over a couple of visits, and the instructors assigned to me (Smitty and Shiva) gave me great feedback. Some of the things they showed me have really helped me under canopy. Only negative is that after making a landing away from my assigned LZ (unplanned), some douche asked me why I landed on 'his' LZ (the swoop LZ), and while I resisted the urge to get all NYC on him, it still sticks in my memory. Try instructing instead of bitching next time, Superman - we are all newbs at one point. Not sure if he worked at the DZ or not, so I am not holding it against the place - great time, great staff, the DZ is good to go.

Another huge plus is that they have Freak'n Suits on site, which makes great suits for a bargain, so if you want a custom-made jumpsuit, you can get measured right there.

I completed my AFF course this summer up north in Pennsylvania and I took about 2 months off because of the winter. You can't jump as a student with high winds every day.

I extended a trip I had already planned in Florida hoping to get a couple jumps in and get back in the sky. This DZ was GREAT. All of the staff are extremely experienced and excited to teach. This was the best place I could have imagined to learn. I ended up completing my A-license requirements!

All the other jumpers I've met have been nice and have shared a ton of information. Just hanging around the DZ and asking questions has really increased my knowledge of the sport.

From the airplane you can see the massiveness of Lake Okeechobee. Its pretty cool. The DZ is surrounded by sugar can fields and its CRAZY FLAT. There's a real nice landing area and plenty of space.

I was also impressed with the tandem skydives they do. I didn't do any personally, but I witnessed a lot of people come in for them. I have to say that the staff provides a hell of a lot of customer service- including pre-tandem training and a logbook for the customers after the jump - I saw a lot of people become really interested in the sport. It was not just a rush tandem job to grab some money. I even saw some people go up for their 2nd and 3rd tandem in the same day.

I'm real glad I found this DZ. I know I have a long future ahead of me in this sport. I'm definitely gonna grab a flight from new york to come back down soon. JUMP HERE

I visited this DZ whilst on a trip down to Miami for the weekend and after reading the reviews of Skydive Miami (more focused on Tandems) it sounded like this DZ in Clewiston would be better for me as a fun-jumper (B-Lic, 100+ jumps). It was worth the 90min drive :)

I had a great time jumping here despite poor weather (low clouds and a bit of rain) and their Otter being away that day at nationals (used the C206 instead).

I stuck around and waited out the weather till it cleared in the later afternoon. This actually worked out very well for me, because the DZO, Rick, ended up putting the C206 up a few times for those that had stayed and we got 3 jumps in :) It actually was pretty cool and felt like my own private skydiving experience!

FACILITIES:
The hanger/packing area is large, carpeted and everyone was very friendly and said hi. There is a very experienced camera guy there (Ronny I think was his name) if you are interested in getting some advice. The food/grill is simple but great...fresh homemade burgers at a DZ!

LANDING AREA:
This is huge and is divided into three sections. As&Bs, Cs&Ds and high-performance. There's a beer-line separating the ABCD and the high-perf area - be warned! ;-)

RENTAL GEAR:
They have about 4 larger Student rigs and a intermediate sized PD190. They also had a PD176 sports rig + 2 other smaller rigs for rent. Rental included the pack job too.

OVERALL:
I had a lot of fun and I'll be back when I'm next down in the area for sure.

I had never been skydiving, but had wanted to for a long time. I called on a Friday and got signed-up for an AFF class on Sunday.

The classroom was very thorough and prepared me to jump- which I did, successfully by the end of the day. It was a soft landing, and I'm excited to pursue my A license.

The staff was friendly and supportive, the equipment seemed to be well maintained, and the location was ideal for jumping. I'd highly recommend making the drive to Clewiston to visit Air Adventures, even if this isn't the closest dropzone to your house.

I first went to Clewiston for my first tandem 10 years ago and had a great time. Three weeks ago I made my second tandem and I was hooked. Not just by the jump, but the people there are very friendly and welcoming. From the moment we arrived received first class service. Thank you all for the great AFF training and hospitality!

I look forward to becoming a major pain in the ass!!

A couple friends of mine were down in February to escape the winter weather and find some adventure in skydiving. We had a BLAST! All staff were friendly, welcoming and informative right from manifest (thank you Theresa) to the jumpers themselves (thanks goes out to John, Mikey, Smitty, Troy and T.J.). What began as one jump turned into more than a few between us. The weather was co-operative and the views were great! Jumpers were eager to share their skydiving experiences with us and make us feel welcome. I am now a student jumper working towards being a solo jumper and would greatly recommend this dropzone to anyone, newbs and experienced jumpers alike. Kudos and blue skies to everyone at Air Adventures!

If you are a first-time jumper or experienced fun-jumper, this place is for you. Constant flux of aircraft, such as a new and fast super-otter (winter 2008) with a great staff and crowd each weekend.

Events, especially the everglades boogie (Jan 2008) were awesome. New Flight Briefing Office and skydiving center with internet access. Low prices. Go fast, be safe, and have fun!

I took my brother for his 18th birthday along with my girlfriend and her friend. We had a great time with the staff and really enjoyed our experience. I highly recommend this venue to any new or experienced jumper.

I was visiting south Florida on business recently and found myself having the weekend off… unexpectedly. I’m from a small and friendly dropzone so I decided to drive out to Air Adventures in Clewiston instead of heading up to one of the big, commercial dropzones.

Immediately, I was one of the family. I was introduced to some very friendly up-jumpers who were gracious enough to jump with me. Also, being a tandem instructor, the staff were nice enough to let me do some tandems to earn a few extra bucks.

I didn’t have any gear with me because I wasn’t expecting to have time off, so everyone stepped up and loaned me gear. A jumpsuit and goggles from the student room, a helmet from a video guy, an altimeter from the owner, and a couple of personal rigs from the staff!

They have a PAC 750XL right now, but are getting a super Otter for the winter. The landing area is huge and soft.

I cannot begin to tell you how friendly these people are. On Sunday evening we enjoyed some beer and then they invited me out to dinner with them. Lisa and Rick, the owners, even offered up their home to stay in when I come back.

So, to all my new friends at Air Adventures, thank you so much for taking me in and treating me like one of your own. I think I found my new home away from home. I’ll see you in a few months.

-Dave

First of all I want to say thank you to everyone I met and jumped with last Sunday. After a lay off from skydiving for over 6 months I really wasn't too interested in jumping anymore. I came from a club DZ and had jumped there pretty much for the last 6 years. After moving to Florida I found it rather hard to get motivated again to jump without knowing people. I visited a few dz's in the area and just really didn't feel welcome and didn't feel the vibe at all. I finally got convinced to come out to Clewiston by a fellow DZ.commer and am glad I did. I really feel the DZ, jumpers, owners (Lisa and Rick) did an outstanding job at welcoming a new skydiver to their dropzone. All their jumpers, staff, students etc were friendly and treated me as one of them from the get go unlike some dz's that have their clicks and groups. After jumping I was invited to dinner with the staff and hung around the DZ while they closed up and enjoyed a cold one. All in all I'm very pleased to have finally found a new home DZ where I feel welcome and the staff is professional and facilities well kept. They have the Pac every other weekend and an Otter starting in Nov so def come and check them out! Thanks again everyone for bringing me back into the sport.

I learned to jump out here and my only regret is that I will have to jump at another dropzone when I go back to school. Awesome environment and everyone is willing to help. Very friendly people. Great food. Big flat landing area, very hard to miss. I go out and jump every weekend I am home. Best of luck to Rick and Lisa.

After doing a tandem a while back, I suggested that some friends try it as well. Every one of them loved it. Myself and one of the friends are in the process for the A-license now. We are very pleased with the knowlege that are instructors, John, Bill, and Rick are sharing with us. We are looking forward to earning the right to buy beer for those guys.

For my very first tandem jump, I chose this place. I was scared! But they really made me feel at ease and safe. By the time my feet touched the ground I was ready to sign up for the courses! When I pulled up to the place, I was greeted by Choppy the parachuting poochie. As I stepped inside, a girl not much older than myself came in to greet me with a smile and a wind blown apology as she had just returned from a jump. Near the front door is a rack of souvenier clothing for guys and girls with funny sayings on them. I wanted them all! I watched a quick video, signed a few papers and before I knew it I was in the air. A videographer jumped with us and filmed the whole thing. On the way up, the instructor and two other jumpers told jokes and laughed and really made me feel comfortable. Which is important when you are attached to a stranger for the first time! They make you feel like a friend and not a customer. The DVD and still shots were edited wonderfully and in my hands before I left. So, beautiful view + new friends= one helluva good place to jump out of a perfectly good airplane!

I have gone through AFF and taken many friends to Air Adventures. These are the friendliest group of professional skydivers, instructors and coaches you'll find anywhere. You're not just a customer at Air Adventures, you're family. I can't say enough about the wonderful experence that I have had with them. They're the best!

Clewiston is a decent DZ i always take tandems there as the price is great ($150) and they allow me to video the tandems i bring ( i dont charge ) unless they want to pay for a profesional video/dvd and stills... anyway a good dz with some nice friendly people its a little slow and not that many freeflyers but very safe and secure and makes a nice change from my home dz...
