This is the best place for a new student to learn how to skydive , professional instructors , State of the art equipment but no place for fun jumpers . This is my home DZ and it breaks my heart to see the way they treat me and my fellow fun jumpers . Theres not a family atmosphere at this dropzone at all , they treat you like a customer instead of family even after you spend $15,000 jumping there . Some of the Staff snaps at you for no apparent reason . They treat you like little kids and as a fun jumper its not fun at all . Remember the reason we all jump ? We jump to have fun . They will bump you for tandems or students all the time because tandems and student are there bread and butter and there treated like royalty . And once you get your license thats it they treat you likea piece of crap cuz your not there main source of income anymore and i'm not the only graduate fun jumper there that feels that way and the only person responsible for this is Fred the S&TA / operater , he sees whats happening with his fun jumpers going other place to jump and he does nothing about it cuz he only care about the tandems and students . The packers 1st priority is to pack tandems or student rigs . There are only 2 packers that pack and they pack tandems all day so if your a fun jumper dont expect to make to many jumps . The packers are disrespectful , they never pack your rig on time , and how one of them said " MONEY TALKS " so if your not tipping 20 bucks for a pack job your screwed , So learn how to pack if you ever decide making the mistake of jumping here . So the best thing i can recommend is to learn how to skydive there and once you get your license get the hell up out of there and join me and my friends at sebastian where you can have fun , make 10 jumps a day without having any problem with stupid packers and be treated like family !

My friends and I visited Skydive Miami for a few days and were treated like one of their own. The facilities were nice and clean. The staff is very friendly and they appear to run a very professional and safe tandem operation if you are looking to make your first jump and are in the area. The landing area is huge and the ride back is in style. I would definately recommend Skydive Miami for the first time jumper or experienced jumper.

Myself Benson and my pal Kishore went for skydiving on 4th of July 2005.It was a fascinating experience the staff was superb, my coach was Glenn and he did a superb job I never felt scared as it was my first jump but on the contrary I was thrilled and couldn’t wait till I dived.
My photographer Caroline took excellent video of myself and my buddy kishore; we got a lot of compliments.

While reaching the height of 13,500 Caroline chatted with us and made us feel very comfortable.

First Timers just do it, its fun and thrilling experience the staff will make it much easier for you to jump.

Well, I don't have anything to compare it to, but SDM made me become addicted to skydiving. The staff was so friendly and the experience was so wonderful, that after my first Tandem this past Saturday, I have decided to do my IAFF there. Randy is a total bad ass and I am looking forward to many wonderful days at SDM

Visit period: 19-21 Nov 2004 (Fri-Sun). Very friendly staff: Kat, Greg, Fred and Pam welcomed me to the DZ immediately. Pam organized every load. Caroline the rigger provided emergency mending of a poor Michigan Suit factory repair job. Sunday was very busy and I could not make as many loads as I wanted. I will return to this DZ.

People were nice and friendly. Was greeted right away. They kept checking on to make sure that I was having fun and jumping. Pam was LO'ing and was more than willing to teach and make the dives successful, fun, and a learning experience for all involved. I'd definitely go play in the skies again with them.

I have been jumping for 25 years, thousands of jumps, and seen a lot of skydivers and DZ's. If you want to learn to jump, this is definately the place to do it. They have the best tandem and aff instructors I have ever seen. Being in Miami for the weekend, I just sat back and watched Randy, Pete, and Greg train freefall and tandem students. These guys know what they're doing, very knowledgeable and professional. Randy was incredibly friendly while he showed me around. On the aircraft, he was nice enough to take the time to have the pilot fly over the landing area and show me the DZ. He even showed me the view on the way to altitude, downtown Miami, the Florida Keys, everglades. It was my first time there, he didn't know me from Adam, but made me feel real welcome. In my book, the instructors, Randy, Pete, and Greg, are very talented skydivers with a pleasant attitude. Try and find people like that at many other DZ's

Went there coming back from Key West. It was actually interesting there as you take off in one area and land in another and get shuttled back to the DZ to jump again. THe owner there was very cautious and checked my creditials well. Glad I had them! If your gong to the Keys stop here and make a jump. New experiences are always a pleasant relief in life.

I jumped Tandem in Miami in August of 03. It was my first jump, and my experience with Skydive Miami was definitely a positive one. Because it was so quiet, and not too busy, I got a lot of one on one attention, and very thorough instruction. The staff was great! They made me feel so comfortable, and they were lots of fun. I couldn't have had a better first time experience. Thank you!

I have a special place in my heart for numerous people at SDM (learned to jump there), but I really have had the final straw recently. Myself and a departed dear friend who would kill to defend and protect SDM, have always had a spur in our saddle of how experienced skydivers are treated at SDM. Tandems are always given the red carpet as well as students. I cannot count the number of times I have watched a load of students or tandems that "just got trained" and needed to bump an "experienced load" go before me and others. This happened for the last time recntly during a swoop camp with Pam Manos. I only had 4 hours to hopefully get in 2 jumps this recent weekend. I waited for an hour and 15 minutes while I and numerous other were bumped for a student load that just "had" to get up. In all fairness there was a 20 minute weather delay but that is not the point. Fed up, I left. I have had well over 200 jumps at SDM and this was far from the first time this has happened.
Fred, this has got to stop. I am one of many who feel this way. There is a ton of 20 dollar jumps you are losing.
Recommendation..Drive to Lake Wales. They will put up 2 people in their Cessna and even organize for groups of one. If you are a jumper who goes to socialize, then SDM is your place, but you will not be jumping nearly as much as other Florida Dz's.....
Fred, please you must do something....

GREAT Dropzone. All the packers/ instructors/ manifest workers are friendly knowledgeable and helpful. And the dropzone is run with a family atmosphere.
I was able to jump 5 loads between 12 and 5:30 out of the Caravan.
I recommed you bring your lunch. There is no snack bar on site.

I have been to DZ's all over the country and this was the most unpleasant skydiving experience during my time skydiving. If you are not in the local click, than I would not plan on getting anyone to jump with. The aircraft is adequate, but during my 4 visits they did not put up one back to back load even though there was a full load of jumpers waiting. excessive times between loads. The organizer Fred's judgement is suspect. I was a solo freeflyer and Fred put me out between a 4 way RW and a 2 way RW. I thought that due to my speed, I would exit first. He overruled me and after the jump I watched the RW video and saw myself scream past them at a less than acceptable distance. I questioned Fred and suggested that due to the drift of the RW teams that I exit first and he told me that he was the organizer and has much more local experience and that is the way we do things here. In good conscience I cannot recommend this DZ, especially for new jumpers. The unfriendly atmosphere could turn a new jumper away from this sport. There are several other much more freindly DZ's in the area that are safer and better organized. Stay away from this one.

I made the trip from Trinidad and Tobago (Caribbean) to do the IAF program. The team at Skydive Miami made me feel right at home the second I walked in the door!
The ground and sky staff are super-friendly, attentive and always pays great attention to safety and procedure. Overall, the facility is professionally run and has a cosy, inviting atmosphere.
Thank you Greg, Don, Fred, Pete, Randy, Shawn, Blane, Sergio and the entire team.
This will definitely be my "home" DZ. Thanks from a grateful Trini!

I recently completed the AFF course and could not have been more pleased with the experience. All staff members are dedicated to providing the highest level of SAFETY. These guys love to jump and it shows. Manifesting keeps the loads back-to-back with no delay. Packers get you going again quickly. The extremely friendly staff will make you want to come back for more and more and more. Thanks Fred, Randy, Pete, Don, Greg, and the rest of the Skydive Miami family.

Very friendly people, from the manifest to the rigger, not forgetting instructors, videomen and pilots. That's the place I started skydiving, and they really gave me a good taste of it. The only thing they didn't warn me about, was how addictive it can be...
Go there.
Special thanks to Greg, Don and Jeff

Skydive Miami is one of the most friendly places I've ever been, let alone the fact it's an outstanding dropzone.

Safety is a point continuously made, loads are so very well organized and each and every member of a staff formed by highly experienced skydivers goes the extra mile to answer questions you might have and/or assist you on your first jump or on your training program, making any of these experiences a remarkable memory for life.

Everybody there willingly shares knowledge and passion for this sport that BTW seems to be more than a sport, it seems to be a lifestyle.

You will feel welcome at this dropzone. I strongly recommend Skydive Miami for anyone seeking the thrill of the skies.

After doing my AFF level 1 up in Quincy, FL, I came back home to Miami, and started to finish up the rest of my AFF at Skydive Miami. The staff is very friendly and professional and the place is run efficiently with safety always being priority number 1. It is a relatively small DZ, but that makes it a more personal and friendly place to be. The staff is always more than willing to help you out with any questions you might have. I am proud to have Skydive Miami as my home DZ. It is my home away from home.
