Small dropzone vibe, but big dropzone amenities. Skydive Danielson is one of the friendliest dropzones I've been to, professional staff, shaded packing areas, fun events for everyone - very family friendly - It's a dropzone where you will be asked to join loads instead of hunting for people to jump with - if you haven't stopped by you should!

It’s in my experience that Skydive Danielson is the type of place that creates memories that you’ll likely be thinking about for decades down the line.

People travel from hours in every direction - driving past other DZ’s, to come get some jumps, have some laughs, and eat some food on the grill with the warm & inviting company that inhabits this dropzone. It’s big enough to accomodate anybody who wants to jump, but small enough to keep a proper mom-and-pop sort of vibe that ensures everybody is taken care of.

I don’t know how the DZ is located in a place where it seems like every sunset somehow has radiangly pink clouds, and every night bright full of stars, but it makes the hour & 20 minute drive for me feel a lot closer 30 seconds.

Skydive Danielson rocks. The staff and fellow jumpers are approachable. It takes a bit of self confidence to skydive. But the atmosphere at Danielson is welcoming to all regardless of experience level and without much ego. There's also a healthy attitude toward safety. The DZ is very communal without cliques or pressure to progress faster than one's abilities. I don't get to go as often as I want. But whenever I return it's as though I'm family. The rental equipment there also appears to me to be in better condition than a lot of other DZs. I didn't get licensed there. But I think it's a great place to do it.

This is one of the friendliest drop zones on the east coast. Everyone is friendly and welcoming.

Everyone jumps with you.

Bonfires and beers when the light is on.

If you are a visitor don't have any hesitations, this place loves meeting new people.

I started jumping here 3yrs ago and I can't say enough about it. I have yet to visit a dropzone with the vibe that Danielson gives. If doesn't matter if you're a newly licensed jumper or you have 1000s of skydives everyone is super friendly. I live over an hour away and although there is a dropzone that is about 25mins closer to me I still pick Danielson every time. Rob and Laura have done a fantastic job in the few years that they have owned it. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, the fun jumpers are one of a kind, and area is pleasant to visit.

Danielson is a bit farther from me than a couple other dropzones, but every time I visit, the owners, staff and jumpers are all extremely welcoming and friendly, and make sure I have someone to jump with and have a good time. Danielson has given me some of my best jumps, and has a great atmosphere and a beautiful location. Highly recommended for experienced and first-time jumpers alike.

Came for a tandem on my 18th birthday and everyone here was so awesome and welcoming I ended up deciding to get my license. The instructors are always happy to explain anything you have questions about. And they make sure you stay safe while having as much fun as possible.

Wow! Where to start?!? Skydive Danielson is the BEST! It's been my summer weekend home-away-from-home since 2015, when I worked with the amazing instructors and owners to earn my A license <3 I love my sky fam! The staff and other fun jumpers are always warm and welcoming, whether you're there for your first tandem, or working toward your A license!

Wether a first time jumper or experienced skydiver you’ll feel at home at Skydive Danielson! Located in the quiet NE corner of CT you’ll be greeted by a safe, fun and beautiful place to jump! The instructors are amazing, and will make your whole experience beyond what you even hoped it to be. And there are usually plenty of fun jumpers who will be more than happy to jump with you, honestly couldn’t ask for a better group of people to play in the sky with!!

Wonderful place to make your first jump! Friendly, welcoming, and extremely professional staff will ensure your experience is a great one! Beautiful scenery and a fast airplane that will take you all the way to 14,000 ft! I would strongly recommend Skydive Danielson for first-time and experienced jumpers!

Great fun jumper base that is encouraging and welcoming as soon as you arrive! The staff makes fun jumpers a priority and they will even put up the 206 (in addition to their caravan) to make sure fun jumpers aren't having to wait in between loads.

Skydive Danielson is such a great place. The staff and fun jumpers really make you feel at home. The owners, Rob and Laura, are great people and they are both skydivers. They operate their DZ like skydivers would... I’ve even shown up late in the day when people were basically done skydiving and they went up a load so I could make a jump. You don’t get this kind of service everywhere. Highly recommended for anyone in the area or driving through. These guys will not disappoint.

Did my first tandem in April 2016 and got my license by September. Before I even booked it I knew that I wanted to get my licence and I am SOOO glad that I ended up in Danielson. The staff is great, no matter who you talk to. No BS attitudes, everyone wants to see you succeed. Safety is high priority and everyone watches each others back. While I was a student everyone was willing to answer any questions and point me to the most knowledgeable person if they were unsure. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. And as for the fun jumpers there, we all have a few screws loose and enjoy every minute of it, bad jokes and all! Hope to see you there.

Don't let the small fool you, Skydive Danielson now jumps a Caravan, good turn times, great prices. The best thing about Danielson is by far the vibe. You will not find a better dz to hang, have fun and be safe than this in the area!

Positive vibe. Something you may not always find at every DZ, but you will find in abundance at Skydive Danielson. For me, it's what has set SDD apart from any DZ I have visited. Its not a coincidence that SDD has been rated "Best Small DZ in the Country" by Blue Skies magazine for 3 straight years. Everyone who visits the DZ or calls it home believes that. The owners are amazing and the staff is beyond courteous and professional. I can say with a degree of certainty that I may have left the sport of skydiving years earlier had I not discovered Skydive Danielson. Whether student or fun jumper, it is a "must visit" DZ.

First, it's a small skydiving center. You will be treated as an individual.

I was a student here, and they tailored everything to my needs. The course of instruction, from FJC on, was at my pace with no pressure to go faster.

The vibe is great! I was accepted at Skydive Danielson immediately. I had only been there for a month before Laura was letting me camp on the DZ. The people there want to like everyone. They'll give you shit, but only in fun.

It is a small skydiving center, and the landing area is as small as you'd expect. Respect the advice of the locals when you decide whether to go up.

Secured my A and B licenses with Danielson, they keep you focused with clear and concise instruction before, during and after every jump. The entire team is focused on your success and having a great experience. I would highly recommend their tandem program to anyone want to make their first or annual skydive. All of the tandem instructor make sure every jumper has a great experience.

I had the pleasure of doing my first 3 tandems at Danielson (1 for fun, 2 for training). The staff at Danielson talked me through the jumps step by step and help me get calm and comfortable before exiting the plane.

I also completed my AFF course / A license at this drop zone. Every instructor that i was able to jump with was great, gave detailed instructions before our jumps, and informative debriefs after. I can also thank them for protecting me from myself, and not putting me into any situations that i was not prepared for.

I have nothing but praise for this DZ, and if you ever find yourself in the area its a must visit!

Also, this is no longer a small plane only DZ, they fly a Caravan now.

Found this little gem when I was working up in Boston along with a few other DZ's in the area. The weather was starting to turn for the worse and it looked like only 1 last load was going up when I arrived. They had enough to send up the Cessna but not enough room for me. One of the instructors gave me there spot to get me off the ground. I instantly was welcomed in. This is now my #1 choice when I am in the Boston/Providence area.
Awesome Staff, Aircraft and instruction. Wingsuit friendly and great post-jump conversation. The Cheap Chick Boogie is already on the list for a return visit.

As a new jumper who was working for their license, Danielson was the place to be! Great rental gear (virtually brand new Glide containers). Definitely recommend new/experienced jumpers. The people are welcoming and there are a ton of coaches so students can easily work for their A license.

Pros all around. I've come to love this place. I'm somewhat allergic to douches, and I cynically expect DZs to attract a fair amount. Not Danielson. The people are real, and that makes a difference. Also, you can definitely jump out of a plane here. I enjoy that. Looks like a Caravan will be joining their Cessnas this year. Life is good. See you there!

I made my first Tandem Jump in 2013, intending to see if I would like it enough to try and get licensed. While I definitely enjoyed the rush and the jump, the reason I kept going back to complete my AFF course and continued jumping consistently is without question the people at this DZ. Incredibly friendly and welcoming every time I've been there, they just want to take care of you, whether you're there for a one time tandem, a regular, or you're a licensed jumper driving through looking for someone to help air out the rig you left in the trunk 'just in case'.

Almost three years later and I've got my B license and a little over a hundred skydives and I feel very lucky to have jumped at a place where people want you to try everything, whether its RW or working up to some free flying, tracking, or CRW! And the occasional wingsuiter makes a jump as well.

Wait times are usually very low on the busy days since they usually keep two planes running out of their current 206 and 2 182s. They've also been known to acquire a Turbine occasionally, and are trying to make that a more regular occurrence.

If you are in the area, I would definitely try and come out for a wicked wednesday, Hop and Pops are extra cheap every Wednesday and most of the local jumpers come out and make a party of it.

This place is an awesome DZ with friendly people and a great atmosphere. The only down side is that there is no real bathrooms, just port-a-potties. Not a big deal or a deal breaker in any way. I jumped here a couple of days during a recent trip and I would absolutely go back if I was in the area.

When I started jumping I wondered why people in this day and age would decide to jump at Cessna DZ when there are so many turbines available. Then I went there...
This is what skydiving is supposed to be all about! It's good people falling from the sky, hanging out, packing up and doing it again.
I've jumped throughout New England and other places around North America, and you just can't beat the vibe at Danielson. Anyone who walks up is greeted, and taken interest in. No one gets left out of the conversation, including tandems and wofos.
I can jump at three different turbine DZs, and I choose to make the drive to a Cessna DZ because I know I'll always be happy I went. No waiting around to find 9 or 10 other people to fill a load either. Just grab a couple or three friends, and you are on your way to altitude. Two planes running at the time of this review and a third on it's way means you get to pack and jump.
Don't worry if you make a mistake or two, you won't be made to feel like dirt. Peeps on the ground will ask you what was up, and help you get your learn on without making a big deal of it. The only thing I'd say about cliques is; walk onto the DZ, and your already in the only one that exists there.
Go jump and Danielson. You'll have a great day!
