My husband and I both did our first Tandem Jumps today. We had an awesome experience. Definitely plan on going again here! They made us feel totally comfortable and calm. Breathtaking view. For sure recommend!

This place was awesome, Mike was my instructor and he was cool and laid back. He made me feel very comfortable and made this experience one I will never forget! Everyone was friendly and the banter between them was of typical fashion for adrenaline junkies! I will be back many times over! My wife waited for me near the landing zone and had nothing but praises for the company and employees. Thanks again Mike, for the wonderful experience!

Cons: The gear and its maintenance. The gear they use is all very old. Most of it is for static line, but the rigs that are rented out are original Vectors and similar equipment with the main pin protection flap almost falling off. However, I will attest that the gear is airworthy, you just have to keep an eye out for the closing pin coming out in the plane. The landing area is dirt and dry twigs and the packing area is very small as well as where many people walk through. Good luck keeping your parachute nice and clean, but its more of an inconvenience than anything.

Pros: Everything else. They served us lunch around noon, the people were very open and friendly, and they always made sure to have an experienced jumper oversee the newer students in the plane. Overall its a great place to go jumping and I will be going back soon.

I'm a college student and I came with my brother for his birthday. I was very impressed with the friendliness and knowledge of the instructors. At first, I was unsure of purchasing a video, but it was one of the greatest purchases I could have made. My only complaint was the condition of the plane that we traveled in. It looked like parts of the interior were duct-tape together. However, I would still recommend this company to anyone interested in skydiving. It was a great first Tandem Jump.

Nice friendly DZ with great panoramic views next to world class river rafting in the royal gorge.
The staff is highly experienced and very knowledgable. They have an instructor who is also a raft guide on the arkansas river.

They fly one turbo 206P and a turbo 206U that climb very well even in the thin air in colorado.
The conditions here are great for high perfomance landings and you will definitely notice the increased in speed if you are comming from sea level. Go rafting and skydiving in the same day.
I would recomend this DZ for 1st timers or experienced peeps.

I have jumped at a couple of drop zones within Colorado. What concerns me with this DZ is the safety and attitude of the DZ. Attitude-the first time I called and stated that I was an experienced/up jumper, the attitude was "you are not going to make us money, so we don't need you" needless to say, I didn't and won't jump at the DZ. Safety -I have experience (approx 10yrs) and have watched how this DZ has treated the other DZ/clubs on the airport premises. They have been rude, nasty and totally unprofessional towards the instructors and students(I have experienced it) The biggest concern I have is safety. Today, 7/11/09, I watched how one of the tandem instructors needlessly got too close to a student from the other Drop Zone under canopy. I don't care if it was an "accident" or not. The Tandem instructor had a clear view of the student. They should have known better. For up jumpers, hit the other DZs in Colorado. This is a tandem factory.

Great group of people, very helpful and experienced. Very cautious and safety minded. Not very many up jumpers. Its a hit or miss if your there are going to be enough up jumpers for a load, But the group is starting to build. No caravan..? They have a two 206's but normally just fly one or the other. The landing area is huge, however it is nothing but dirt and brush. It can dirty up a rig if your not careful. Great scenery and the resturaunt "barnstormers cafe", located on the airport, is awesome.

Excellent instructors to do a tandem with or to learn AFF. The staff is extremely friendly and is always willing to help out or to give advice. The scenery is top notch as the dz is surrounded by mountains and the royal gorge. There is a restaurant at the airport and Canon city is just a couple miles away for anything else you might need.

This was my first skydive and because of the personal, professional and detailed attention I received from my instructor, Ralph, it was the very best experience of my life.

Caravan available full time. Up jumpers who like to do Freeflying, RW, and even canopy/swoop work.

The instructors are safe and very knowledgeable. They even are able to put up with hard headed students (thanks Bob, Rusty and Tony). Thank you to Grant for the canopy coaching (warm weather is coming so pull out your Spectre for some high hop and pops).

Even though almost all of the instructors come from a military background, they use positive reinforcement to teach.

A great place to jump and call your home DZ.

My husband and kids gave me a tandum skydive for a Mother's Day gift. It was the greatest experience! The instructor Bob made me feel at ease and the videographer Duey really knows what he is doing. The view from the dropzone is amazing. Everyone was professional and skilled. I would gladly jump there again. They made it unforgetable. Thanks to you all. Robin P.

The folks at this DZ are friendly, easy going, and love to skydive! Check out the Royal Gorge from the air, while climbing to jump run, enjoy all the fun at the hangar on this scenic DZ where gravity rules! Looking for instruction? The AFF course is great for firstjumpers, or a
tandem jump will give you the thrill of a lifetime (don't forget the video package). Give them a call today for details. Questions? E mail me at [email protected].

Skydive the Rockies is a beautiful DZ. Everyone there is Great. For first time jumpers the instructors are very good. Jump courses are on sight at the DZ so you can jump that day. They do have static-line available. For all the pro's; their Rigger and chute service man is the best in the business(if you want to call it that). It is just an all around great place to go! And don't forget about the Awesome DROP!!!!
