This place is incredible. I've been doing my AFF here and I also did my tandem here. Everyone is down to earth and truly loves skydiving. Everyone is so helpful with my training (fun jumpers and instructors too) and always encouraging me and giving me advice and just plain ol' BSing most of the time.

Update: Still a good place to go, but sometimes a little too much drama for my taste. But thats only a few people, so don't let it ruin your time. Still has great people to hang around with and jump with. Still love being there and jumping with the people and friends I have there

Young crowd, awesome people to jump with. However, it is a tandem factory and the jump tickets are way too expensive and experienced jumpers are sometimes given second priority. Things ran much better when Tom was in charge.

Edit: Lately, it seems like they are making more of an honest effort to better serve the experienced crowd. Hopefully, it continues.

This is a great place to learn. Took my classes here and the instructors were very good. Very safety concious and helpful. Great view of the mts. The only problem was the wind. Being on the foothills doesn't help but fantastic when you get to jump. I will recommend to everyone.

This is obviously a dropzone that's put a lot of time, energy, and money into building itself up. Their brand-new Otter climbs super fast, as does their King Air. The new swoop pond is unbelieveable, too.

The trailer ride after you land is a bit of a drag, but They have the architectural plans hanging up in Manifest to move everything over to the other side of the runway to nix the trailer!
I'm going back asap!

The Otter and King Air are great, but they've sacrificed the atmosphere, it's a tandem mill. There was over 90 in one day, experienced jumpers got bumped.

The location was excellent and crew was very organized. Covered all of my concerns without having to ask! Only wish the jump could of lasted longer-what a ride!

Jumped here on an off day, so not much going on. Very streamlined manifesting and helpful staff. Did get bumped for tandems and waited around quite a while even though it was middle of a weekday. Still, nice view, nice staff, nice planes makes up for it. More of a student/tandem DZ at least by the feel I got. One jumper told me they took the couches out of the hangars to keep people from just sitting around. I also have a friend who had a bad experience here, but thats another story...

Tom is the man! So is Todd, Jason, DJan, and everybody else that works there! Those folks are ALWAYS there for the average skydiver, while still maintaining a very professionally run DZ. I don't know what that guy was talking about when he said this place only had "potential"...this DZ is everything you could want--a family atmosphere where people actually WANT to know you by name, excited about jumping, who want to share their knowledge to make skydiving safer and more fun, and the physical materials to do so. Especially coming from SDTR, as well as several dropzones in Arkansas, this place is leaps and bounds over any other dropzone I've ever been to/heard of!! Get in on this action!

I was very excited about moving to the area: I was going to be 20 minutes away from a DZ!

I was looking for:
-Friendly staff,
-Friendly people,
-Fun place to hang out after a full day of jumping,
-To feel welcome,
-The view, facilities and plane were not that important.

What I found:
-Nice landing area (although no set pattern),
-They are very professional with the students,
-Only a few jumpmasters and staff were smiling and full of energy,
-Definitely not a family DZ,
-Almost everyone leaves after the last load,
-A lot of sad and bored people among the staff.

Very frustrating to see that much unused potential... I really tried a few times, I am now driving two hours to get to the next DZ, and it's worth it.

Not only is the location of Mile Hi a great one just outside of town rather than 100 miles away, the people there are hands down some of the nicest people I've ever met. It doesn't matter which instructor you work with, they are all very knowledgable and conform to any special needs you might have at the drop of a hat! Thanks guys!

Not only is Mile-Hi 1/3 the distance of any other DZ, but it has the best facilities in Colorado hands down. The experinced jumpers have the main hangar and the students have their own hangar too. Hold on, their Kingair kicks ass to altitude, one of the fastest in the country!! Enjoy the view of mountains a few miles to the west!

When you stop somewhere for the first time, first impressions tell a story. What a dropzone! Very few DZ's have such nice facilities, but the friendly staff and jumpers there are what really make it great.
Being right next to the mountains gives MileHi an awesome backdrop in freefall. And at the end of the day, you aren't in the boondocks with one greasy spoon to go to. The DZ is a mile from restaurant row, or if you want the metro scene, Boulder and Denver are close by. The DZ is a must go when in Colorado.
