Skydive Elsinore is located approximately one hour away from both San Diego and Los Angeles metropolitan areas, nestled in the scenic Elsinore Valley, home to Southern California's largest natural lake and next to the beautiful Ortega Mountains. Skydive Elsinore was established in 1959 and is the longest running skydiving operation in North America, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2009. Skydive Elsinore prides itself with having the friendliest staff in the industry. Skydivers locally, nationally and internationally are treated second to none. Everyone who walks onto the property leaves with a smile on their faces. Skydivers commonly refer to Skydive Elsinore as their "home away from home". Skydive Elsinore's unique layout was carefully planned to offer skydivers ease of use. The 8,000 sq. ft. covered and carpeted packing area with cool misters, offers skydivers UV protection for their equipment and comfort for packing. Adjacent to the packing area is 1.5 acres of plush grass which is the main landing area. The landing area is carefully maintained and is nicer to land on than a well manicured golf course. The aircraft loading area is adjacent to the landing areas. No bus rides, undue sun exposure, or long walks make for the most comfortable skydiving environment possible. Along with these amenities; Skydive Elsinore has beautiful air-conditioned team and video debriefing areas. But enough about all that - just come see it for yourself.

This is now my home DZ since it appears that San Diego has decided to cater to tandems at the expense of sport jumpers.  As a newer jumper, I appreciate the monthly Excel Skills Camps (free) and the LO's making sure newbies get in groups on weekends. Everybody has been friendly and there are plenty of spaces for fun jumpers with 2-3 planes running. The only negative is that there are crosswinds and sometimes, dust devils on hot afternoons after 1pm but you can start jumping at 7:30 am on weekends and the winds usually calm down in the late afternoons. Highly recommend!

This was my home DZ and I am basing this review on an overall experience over the course of three years. Although I had good coaches whom were very helpful I give a low rating on over all professionalism to the DZ. Poor planning or money hunger leads the DZ to not turn down appointments when they know the DZ will be basically on loan to groups or Military. Great for them and I don't knock them for catering to those groups but hey prioritize. Don't schedule a tandem or student at 1200 and have them sit for four or five hours cause you promised the facility to a group. Having someone make an appointment and then blowing off their time like it doesn't matter is unprofessional and rude. So be up front. If a student or tandem goes somewhere else or comes another day big deal.

I consider Skydive Elsinore my home drop zone, so I admit to having a slight bias. With that being said, I think Skydive Elsinore is the best drop zone I've ever jumped at. The vibe is very friendly, everyone is willing to help each other out, a lot of training programs, etc. I got my A license at Elsinore and I highly recommend anyone interested in going through AFF to come to Skydive Elsinore.

Skydive Elsinore is small enough to have that home town drop zone feel, but still has instructors with tons of experience and a variety of equipment available.

Took a wingsuit course here with Kenn and was very good. People were friendly, possible to get lots of loads in here. Packing area is a little rough and dirty, because of debris getting dragged in from sand/dirt landing areas. Minor detail in comparison to everything else.

Very professional DZ and ran in the same manner. Checking in, they verified my logbook, pack card, license, ID and signed forms and stated on video that I understood. (There have been DZ's that have not even asked to see a license or logbook for currency) They covered all their bases which was awesome. The entire area is very clean (bathrooms were outstanding) and has a great atmosphere to it. Nice shaded pack area, though a little small, and huge grass landing areas. The locals were awesome with every skill level and conducted good dirt dives and exit orders.

This was my first time there and I did 4 jumps. I live 4 hours away and was so impressed I bought 3 mini-blocks. Highly recommended and will deff return.

First off, this is the best dz I've been to. Its overall compatibility for tandems and fun jumpers is a HUGE plus. I feel completely comfortable bringing my friends/fam here to get a tandem jump in and not have worry about waiting around for hrs to get on a load. They also can't complain about $189 for a jump, especially with an awesome view of Dana Point/Catalina Island and the mountains. I wouldn't recommend a tandem anywhere else.

As far as fun jumping goes, I have never felt unwelcome at Elsinore like I have at a few other dzs in CA. The block prices make it a killer deal that is next to impossible to beat. There is a large amount of landing area on both sides of the runway. Instructors/Staff are incredible and will make you feel right at home.

The recent addition of weekend organizers for both belly and free fly is awesome! Instead of trying to find other belly flyers, or trying to find someone to help you with your sit fly, there are organizers who bring the other fun jumpers to you!
The EXCEL camps are awesome too! As a newer jumper it is an amazing learning experience to be able to do 2 ways and four ways with actual competitive skydivers and even debrief after. oh, and thats free of charge!! (minus the jump of course!)

Having done my first tandem at the shoddy and overpriced skydiving business in Camarillo, it was refreshing to see a dropzone where I felt confident in my instructors and gear. These guys know what they're doing and are all about having a good time while maintaining the highest level of safety possible. I ended up doing my AFF here and ever since I have never felt the need or desire to go anyway else. There's always a great group at the dropzone, and events such as skills camps, competitions, and parties are held frequently. Everyone is extremely welcoming, and the dropzone really is a community. They have some food, but it's pretty basic. I wish they bbq'd some tritip or something on weekends, but at least there's an In-n-out right down the road!

Hi,

So I learned everything I know thus far at Skydive Elsinore. I did my AFF here as well as another hundred jumps. I have been to a few other dropzones in my time but Elsinore is by far my favorite. It has a huge student landing area, meaning I'm always feeling safe regardless of winds, canopy traffic.

The people here are the best. Everyone is quite friendly to us new jumpers and is willing to teach, coach, discuss safety, review video and jump. Nightlife is great as well as there are always a bunch of different people hanging out after the sun has set. I've stayed in the bunkhouse quite a few times as well camped on site, and the facilities are excellent.

I would highly recommend Elsinore to anyone from newbies to tandems to SkyGods, though I'm sure most have already been here!

First off I will put out the disclaimer that I only have 29 jumps and have never jumped at another DZ. With that said, I feel very comfortable recommend Elisnore to anyone that wants to learn how to skydive. I have worked with 16 different instructors and coaches during my short career and everyone of them has been professional, knowledgable, and friendly. I am continually impressed with the level of instruction and the entire staff's genuine concern for the customer.
For example, my first jump I let up on the flare at landing and hit hard...so hard I couldn't wear a boot to work for a week. Lisa, the kind woman that picks me up when I land in the boonies, was very concerned and ensured I was in fact alive and ok. Then the staff got me an ice pack for my foot. I have heard of other places where newbies get critcized, not at Elisnore. The staff will let you know you screwed up but in a constructive manner that is aimed to make you a better, safer skydiver.

That brings me to my 2nd story, On one of my first few jumps I landed pretty close to the runway and the wind picked up my canopy and dragged me a few feet onto the runway. Obviously this wasn't intentional and it is potentially very dangerous. I had a talk with Lob (sp?) and he taught why we want to avoid the runway, how to make minor corrections on final, and then another staff member taught me how to rapidly collapse my canopy if the wind catches it. Again, very proffesional and constructive critism.
This past weekend, 1st time jumping after getting my A-License, I showed up to the DZ and was going to do more solos...since I don't have any buddies to jump with yet. Sydney, a kind soul that always remebers my name, told me about the Excel coaching session that was going on that day. It was an awesome experience doing 3 and 4-ways the first weekend I had my A-License and getting great coaching for free.
The moral of this story is that Elisnore is a great DZ and all the people (staff, jumpers, Tony the hot dog guy) are awesome.

I dropped off my rig to have the reserve repacked. They told me it would take 4 days, it's been well over a month and a half now, I JUST got it back today. I never received any phone calls about it's status either, they claim they had staff issues, but no common courtesy to call me and explain? I had to contact them via Facebook to get a response, which tells me their staff is more concerned about status updates than actually getting real work done. It only gets worse from here. I go in to get my rig, and the people at the service counter wants to charge more money for my main to be packed, WHICH IT WASN"T EVEN PACKED. I was looking straight at my rig, main detached and said "yeah no not paying for that, because you guys haven't did that work" which took them even longer to figure out what was going on. Very disappointed. They stamp on my reserve repack was on June 20th, it's not July 8. So even after it was packed it took them almost 20 days to get it back to me? I dropped it off on the 28th of May. Not so much as a discount for anything, or an apology from the sales person at the counter. Don't go to this dropzone if you want any kind of good service. I will never go here again.

I went here as a fun jumper in Feb/Mar 2013 after being very underwhelmed with another nearby DZ (rimes with Paris).

I only completed about 25 fun jumps but had such an amazing time. This place is a cornerstone of skydiving history for sure. It is a lovely DZ, well maintained, load organising and SUPER professional. The local jumpers were plentiful and friendly. They also have one of the first fully fledged WINGSUIT school. I will be going back for sure.

Be aware that the catering facilities are a little sparse and there is not DZ bar. People do bring a few cold ones to have at then end of the day which is nice. I think this ads to the focus on skydiving and eliminates the slightly unwanted alcohol related sideline that often accompanies skydiving.

One year ago I decided to learn how to skydive and spend 3 months jumping in a dropzone.

My choice was Skydive Elsinore, and it was the best I could have taken!

The staff is super friendly, there are lots of really experienced instructors who respect you and encourage you to learn and improve!

The landing area is huge and they explain you carefully the landing patterns. There is plenty of space for the students, and if you land really far a van would pick you up.

Throughout the three months I was in Elsinore, there were many events for all sorts of experience levels and disciplines going on.

I was even luckier to be there for Bridge the Gap, an awesome event that literally bridge the gaps between you and the manufactures, coaches and disciplines you want to get in.

Once I completed 200 jumps I even learnt to wingsuit at Skydive Elsinore Wingsuit School.

After 300 jumps and 3 months living in a tent in the Dropzone, experiencing the great vibe and events, there's no other place I would recommend for someone to learn or improve the skills.

I completed my A License at Elsinore, and probably worked with 15 different instructors, all of whom were very helpful and knowledgeable. I plan on continuing to jump here as long as I'm in the sport. Having nothing bad to say about it.

Skydive Elsinore is lovely dz.

Once I' have reached the manifest I' noted the their staff: all beautiful girls, very friendly and helpful, a good start.

The curious thing was the waiver: before signing the video recoding, and you have to read loudly the final part, stating:I' have carefully read and understood this document, and say your name and date.

They say "that's California", but the day after in Perris was not required such procedure.
The planes are good, fitted with heating system and benches, making to ride to the altitude comfortable, considering the low temperature in February.

They have good professional coaches and organizer, also the packer work very fast and ensure you have nice, smooth opening.

Overhaul I' had a grat day, 7 jumps, enjoy the view of Elsinore Lake.

The landing area is big, and, in case you land far from the packing area (like me) they have a van to pick you up.
The only downside is the fact there's no a food and bar facilities other than a trolley which sells some snacks.

Personally I' don't care if the dz does not sell alcohol, but having an hot coffee when is cold, or cold drinks during the hot season make the difference.

For those who can travel like myself, Skydive Elsinore is must dz to visit.

I have been to dropzones all over the country with over 6000 jumps over 11 years...and Elsinore is by far the friendliest, most professional and laid back DZ I have ever seen. I keep waiting for an ego to show up (I am sure there are some, but they seem to be well in check) but it never happens. The scenery is gorgeous. The planes are always flying. The staff is uber-friendly. The facilities are great. Elsinore has everything except the egos!!!

I recently had the chance to venture out to Elsinore for the 10th Annual Chicks Rock boogie. I've heard nothing but amazing things about this dropzone and the people that jump here, so I was totally pumped to get out there and spend some time in the sky. Let me just say, this was the best boogie I've ever been to, and I'm in the business of making boogies happen. Most of the people I was jumping with were jumpers from Elsinore, so it was nice to get a feel of what the place is all about, beyond how many amazing people came from all over the world for the boogie. There were at least a couple hundred jumpers there and plenty of organizers - I think I counted 10? Maybe more? Point was, there was always someone to jump with, and the level of talent they had there was something I've never seen before. It was pretty cool, as a newer jumper with 200ish jumps, to be on skydives that actually worked. I turned more points in 8 jumps at Chicks Rock than I ever have at a weekend back home.

And the parties. Oh the parties. Elsinore knows how to entertain and they do it right. Night swoops, costume parties, photo booth, plenty of delicious adult beverages for everyone... it was a great time. Looking forward to spending more time here in the future!

I recently attended skydive Elsinore DZ during the 10th annual Chicks Rock Boogie. The place had great facilities and lots of friendly employees and jumpers willing to help you out or jump with you. Everyone from the office girls to manifest, to tandem instructors chatting it up in the plane. It was a good vibe. I come from the east, everybodys a little bit more uptight. This was nice. I enjoyed 3 days of awesome jumping! The loads were turning pretty quick, despite some complainers on Saturday. What do you expect with a couple hundred jumpers there. My only complaint would be to have the packing mats swept off at night or in the morning. They got filthy real quick. Got back to NY and a cloud of desert dust and scorpians came out upon my first deployment. But seriously, that could have been cleaned up more regularly. Overall, awesome place that can meet all your skydiving needs. Plenty of wingsuiters, freeflyers, some belly flyers to jump with. Seemed like there was plenty of coaching available too. Thanks guys for running an awesome DZ!

Absolutely nothing negative, did my first jump course, all AFF levels and solos through 21 jumps. The only thing that I would change is I wish I could have finished my A-license here. Yong, Andy, Greg, Darren and Adam all GREAT instructors. Awesome packing class and coach jump from Marcelo. Attitude at the DZ in one of Safety and fun welcoming to new jumpers. Would highly recommend. ALL jumpers were more than willing to help out the newb and made sure I new that jumping safely was the primary goal.

Hammo's place is a gem. Jumped there in April for the first time with the SOS geezers. That week we were treated like royalty, from office to packing area. The vibe at the Bomb Shelter reminds you of the early days of DZs, where you hang out for hours just talking about skydiving. It's not as buffed as Perris, but that's the point. We don't need no swimming pool or full bar. (It would be nice, though.)

WOW!! I cannot say one bad thing about Elsinore. We were welcomed as sky-family and felt at home right away. Coaching is always available and from world class skydivers. Lots of room to pack, socialize, debrief, and prep for the next jump. 2 mock ups and easy to manifest.

You have got to check this place out.

Thank you Skydive Elsinore!

This place is amazing for all kinds of jumpers. The staff is wonderful- they really know what they're doing and will go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and having a good time. The facilities are great.. I've done a tandem and my AFF there (almost licensed!), and have had nothing but amazing times. The weekends can get a little crazy with tons of tandems, so patience is definitely a virtue, but that's something you'll encounter at any dropzone. Even waiting around, though, you feel at home and happy. I'm excited to start jumping at other places, but Elsinore will always be my favorite place to jump! Definitely recommended for all levels of skydivers!

I had heard great things about Skydive Elsinore as an fun jumper, so when I found out I was going to be in Cali for a little longer than I had expected decided to check it out.

Easy to find, not to far off the highway. Went in, signed my waivers and went right to the gear store to rent some gear since I didn't have mine. Great environment and awesome people inside.

Plenty of people asking if I wanted to join them in a jump.

Even though there was a Speed meet, and tons of tandems there was never a downtime for me unless I wanted there to be on. Two plans constantly flying gave me plenty of loads to get onto.

See you all in two weeks.....everyone here is amazing!!

My daughter and I did our AFF course at Sky-Dive Elsinore, my daughter completed her "A" license as well. I researched Sky-Dive Elsinore on DZ and by the positive reviews we decided to do our training there. We weren't disappointed as the reviews were very accurate.

First and most importantly safety was the top priority there, all the instructors are highly qualified and monitor each students progress and have a good system to do just that. No student gets in the airplane unless they have a clear vision of what they will be doing on the jump, as well if they have a malfunction. Emergency procedures are practiced to the point where they would be automatic if they were to occur.

They make it incredibly fun, you are treated the same whether you have 5 jumps or 5000 jumps. All the staff and all of the DZ's regular jumpers treat you equally and are like a big family. We were included in the Saturday night BBQ's and any other things going on at the DZ.

For both of us it was without a doubt the most fun and exciting thing we have ever done, it is hard to imagine topping the AFF course. Many thanks to Karl, Lob, Matt, Lelo, Scott, Bob, Tickle, Danny, David, Andy, Misha, Spot, Damien, Travis, the girls in the office etc. etc.
