  • Largest fleet of jumpable aircraft in the World.
  • The only dropzone that has a DC-3 aircraft for jumpers.
  • The instructors are highly trained, they all have a minimum of 1,000 skydives before they can work for Adventures In Skydiving.
  • All of the student and tandem parachutes are packed by certified FAA parachute riggers.
  • Full time ground operation and safety officer staff.
  • Onsite Indoor wind tunnel Skyventure
  • Onsite restaurant, bar and swimming pool.
  • Multiple world records have been set at Skydive Arizona because of the aircraft, facilities and knowledgable staff.
  • Several lodging options including a bunkhouse, team rooms, tent camping, RV slots and Skyrider Inn.
  • AXIS Flight School for regular coaching (canopy, freefall and tunnel).
  • On site gear store Square2
  • On site gym and massage therapy.

Experience was good aside from landing about a mile out in the desert and having no one come out and get me. Most dropzones I've been to someone is watching for this. And I heard Eloy was good about retrieving people too. Got caught up in the wind which held me back from returning in time to land. Had about a 10 minute walk in 115 degree temperatures and no one noticed that a skydiver had landed a bit away from the dz? Was dissapointing.

This is a cool DZ. Like everyone says, you have to go there at least once in your career. I believe its worth it. There is damn near everything your little upjumper heart can desire. I went in May so it was pretty much hot as balls, but still fun. The jumpers there are fairly social, but they're not beating your face to talk to you or anything.
The only thing I didn't like was that it was in the middle of nowhere with nothing really around. Your best bet is to get a room with a kitchen at the hotel on the DZ and go buy some groceries and cook. The hotel looks a little sketch on the outside, but its badass on the inside; trust.
Also, there was pretty much no wind at all when I went and coming from a windy DZ on the coast, it proved for interesting landings. The regulars there will more readily not educate you on the art of landing and, instead, laugh as you eat it.
Overall though, definitely a good DZ that you have got to check out some time. Make the trip!

A big DZ with a lot of facilities. The weather was good in March, though it is blowing hard sometimes. Can land everywhere in the desert if you miss the landing area and (usually) they come to pick you up...

Many loads per day, though there was a lot of military training when I was there, something which is bothering since usually they have there own loads and there are many canopies which needs to land.

People are usually friendly, specially the organizers. Coaching is very good there and one can do both freefly and belly jumping. It may be a bit hard to find a partner or a group if you come alone though, since there are many groups that do coaching and training but I did not have any problem with that. Manifest is usually ok. Packers are great.

There is an irritating problem in Eloy: if you come without a car, you are stuck and with no food or water, you have to pay an extremely expensive price for small water bottles in the machines and restaurant. Food is not particularly good, and there is no alternative to the restaurant. They even charge for internet access, and not cheap at all: 25$ (march 2007) a week! There are many DZ with free internett access, I dont see why AZ have to exploit the jumpers who pay anyway a lot of money for jumping and coaching and are stuck in the middle of the desert.

Dispite the small cons, this place is great if you want to jump a lot and escape from cold and bad weather. I did 100 jumps in 10 days without any problem. You can do easily twice as much with a packer and 2 rigs...

I came to Phoenix on business and of course brought my gear. The opportunity to jump Eloy is like going to Disney if you don't live nearby, and if the company was paying the way even sweeter. I made it out on a Monday at 4:30P which at my home DZ of Skydive Space Center there would never be a plane flying. If the weather is good Skydive Arizona is flying. The office staff was exceptional, fast, and new their stuff. From the time I arrived I was on a 15 minute call within 30 minutes. The whole experience was proffesional and organized. The DZ is laid out great. They have everything from coffee shop, gear store, restaurant/bar (IMPORTANT), packing areas and separate landing areas for different skill levels. The view was beautiful over the desert. The only two patches of green were the landing areas making it very easy to see and everything there is an out because it's in the middle of nowhere. I would highly recommend if you have the chance, jump Skydive Arizona. Even if you go with non-jumpers there's always the tunnel. Thank you Skydive Arizona for a great experience.

What can you say about the Biggest Baddest DZ in the world? Eloy is like a campus: Pool, Coffee House, Restraunt, Bar, Riggers, Massage Parlor, Loads of Camping, Bunkhouse, Skydiver Inn, etc.

Oh yeah and they have a Tunnel and loads of Aircraft.

The Southern AZ weather makes Eloy the place to be in the winter...but probably not so much in the summer.

If the weather is jumpable...Eloy will have loads going pretty much anyday of the week.

The view from altitude is not the most exciting but the landing area is very nice and the nearby area is virtually totally flat and offers lots of outs.

Like Perris...Eloy is one of those places ever skydiver should checkout!

I have been spending plenty of time at the DZ!

Everyone on-site is very professional and friendly! Unbelievably approachable and willing to share their expertise and enthusiasm. Always with an encouraging word or a well-meant critique.

The cool-factor and respect increases when you realize that so many people on the student staff, coaches and local team members are world class jumpers themselves.

I have now been jumping at this drop zone for about a year and am sure that very few DZ's in the world can surpass the level of service and professionalism I've experienced here!

One more reason I LOVE Arizona! Oh and Eloy in-particular!

I have been looking forward to skydiving for the first time all summer, but I was very sad to find that most DZ's have a strict weight limit of 220 lbs for tandem jumps. I called in asking about other options, like the wind tunnel just to have some fun while my friends were jumping and I was happy to hear that they have other gear reserved for heavier people so I could go!

I jumped with Phil, a great guy who had professionalism and confidence written all over him. He was very clear, straight forward, and interested in all my concerns, but kept a relaxed and fun attitude from start to finish. My friends that went with me had similar experiences all around. All of the staff I interacted with, including the girl at the coffee shop were GREAT, I never felt rushed or thought of as a "newbie". I would highly reccomend this DZ, from what I hear their safety record is great and they are one of the biggest in the world.

I found that Skydive Arizona is a great place to jump and jump lots, but a mediocre place for on- or near dropzone accomodation. The bunk house has improved a little, but the showers are still in a separate building and you can't adjust their temperature (although it was good every time I went for one last time) The kitchen facilities are very sparse. The food is now better than it's ever been at the Bent Prop, which isn't saying much. There is no good restaurants for miles around. What this place needs is something like the IHOP in Perris. On the other hand, the vibe was awesome the last time I was there, thanks to Amy, Curtis, Dusty and Fruitcake.
The tunnel absolutely rocks and is the best in North America available to civilians. The manifest is good and professional and the planes run like clockwork. Safety is very well monitored and coaching is available any time.
Since my last review, the DZ has definitely improved by one star and is now once again my favorite destination as a West Coast Skydiver.

I recently went to skydive AZ and was extremely impressed. Every person i encountered, from the Square2 Gear shop to the packers, to the people in the office and manifest were friendly, professional, and very helpful. The manifest girls were remembering my name after I just showed up and were very helpfull. Their prices are also very good comparatively. There was little wait time for planes, ample landing area, and I was even picked up quickly when i ended up landing off due to do very strong winds. Oh, and the weather is amazing! It was about an hour from Phoenix, but that is not too bad at all. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Skydive AZ and would highly recommend it to anyone!

I've wanted to jump at Eloy since I started jumping. Probably because my brother lives out there. So I went finally and was NOT disappointed. You could stay there for a week and NOT get enough jumping. The tunnel is there to refine you skills. I just wish the grass landing areas were a bit larger. They are plenty large until it gets crowded.

Jumped once here (4 days).

Professional staff, very nice aircraft, expresso!, very good facilities.

Didn't much care for the cart ride to the aircraft, but not a big deal either.

Having been to SDA only once before, it felt like going 'home' the second time.

Obviously there are small (and sometimes large) changes, but the feeling and people remain a constant,
which is why I'll be going there again this year (Christmas Boogie 2005).

I've spent about 8 weeks there and jumped around 160 times (only in December btw), but what a place.

I've never spent a night alone, always found the staff approachable & friendly, and prepared to go out on a limb for you,
more aircraft than you can shake a stick at, great packers, load organisers, AZTC and some really, really cool people.

As I write this, I've got 254 jumps to my name, so I've pretty much gone to SDA wide-eyed & just off student status,
well, relax.. there are plenty of outs, a simple landing pattern on two large landing areas (one specifically for students)
and plenty of staff that will look after you and give you the heads-up on all you need to know.

The weather in December is pretty good, cold evenings & mornings but warms up pretty quick, and is mostly sunny,
however, it can rain too, but isn't that like anywhere ? Besides, Square-2 have pretty much all the clothing you could want,
and sometimes have sleeping-bags in too (saves you having to bring one) for around $20, although I would phone first
to make sure.

The Bent Prop will satisfy all your food/alcohol needs along with videos (even your own if they're suitable)
or the Crimson Sky Cafe, where you can buy most of the things you forgot (soap powder to hangover remedies)
Kyle runs the internet cafe next door and there are massages, a heated swimming pool, showers & laundry area,
camping (which is free) the bunkhouse now has bigger lockers (rig & equipment size), microwave & video player
and much improved sleeping areas (with privacy curtains & light) power-points.

There is a Walmart in Casa Grande for anything else you need (try and get a lift rather than a taxi) you'll find someone
going there almost every day at some point.

If there is anything you need to know, just pm me and I'll try my best to help.

Have fun.

Skydive Arizona is the Home of the Annual Dropzone.com Holiday Boogie. We couldn't have picked a better place to do this every year! The boogies are well organized, well run and more fun than you can imagine. There are more world champions at Eloy than you can shake a stick at. So, for the opportunity to jump with one of these legends or if you just want to track towards Picacho Peak, drop in!

We stayed at Eloy for 4 days in a tent, they were renovating their bunkhouse but we could have stayed in a team room for bunkhouse price, they had a plan B!
There were plenty of loads and if you were willing to speak to people and not think that they are "SkyGods" you will find that they are a great group of people, i have only 100 jumps and i was catered for and treated well by the staff and fun jumpers. There was 2 military groups staying there as well as fun jumpers and everyone was catered for with minimal hassles. Scenerey was tops, will be back once the wind tunnel is up and running.

I had the pleasure to visit the area and stay for the weekend. Despite my limited experience (160 Jumps on that time), had a chance to participate in good loads, meet experience and friendly skydivers.
The DZ infrastructure is impressive. Keep the good work and thanks!

I visited Skydive Arizona in September - just as things were revving up for the jump season. Judging from people's complaints about unfriendly people and it being a bit of a madhouse, this is THE time to go.
Teachers - Stefan and Dusty - were excellent. Coop the cameraman did me some excellent footage. Got me to my B license in no time at all. Everyone was very friendly given my being a newbie and the Prop saloon a good place to hang out. If you don't like the discomfort of a bunkhouse - head down the road to the super 8 where you get big TV and pool for 30 bucks a night. Will be definitely heading back for boogies.

Plan your next skydiving trip to Eloy for the Holiday boogie. It was a blast. They ran planes non stop from 8-sunset. Manifest was very organized and the dropzone was run efficiently.
Everything you need is on site from the gear store to the lodging.
I recommend a Balloon jump.
My only caution is to be aware of which direction the first person lands on the landing area. Everyone is supposed to follow the first person down. If you are not sure, land on the student field.
Bring lots of water, but the beer is free.

I went to the christmas boogie at Eloy. I only had 2,5 days to jump and meet some of the coolest people on(and off of) this planet! there was some confusion at manifest during the two days but I got do get on some awesome jumps and jumpcraft.
the grounds were awesome the Bathrooms/showers were clean and the bent prop was WAY too cool!
If I have half a chance(and I will) I will go back to Eloy for some more great times! I would suggest you take the opportunity to "Skydive Arizona!"

Interesting place to go and check out the skygods who are way too into themselves to want to meet new people. Nice big planes dropping all over the sky, but with people landing all over the desert. The student landing area seems to be the safest place to be.

I did ASP at Eloy in the summer and it was great. Everyone looks out for students and helps new jumpers. Safety is the first priority there. Everytime I go back, my old JM's ask how I'm doing. I am so glad that I can call Skydive Arizona my home dz.
