You must look to their link which says not open to the public. After trip from Tucson to Avra Valley Airport was informed that Skydive Marana does not allow public skydiving.

I've jumped this DZ off and on for 7 years, since it is close to my home, and the small DZ suits my conservative jumping style. With all the emphasis on tandems and students, as the novices progress, they usually head to busier/larger DZ's nearby. This means there is little development and coaching for more experienced jumpers (like me). Still - a great place for students.

The owner is psychotic. Talk about bad customer service! I took some friends there to do tandems and they got yelled at by the freak at the desk. They advertize that they go from 11500' ... not mentioning that that is above sealevel and the DZ is at 2000' so they are ripping off unknowing customers who don't know the difference.
They advertize the King air but it never flies. Even the staff joke about it being a holagram not a real plane. If you jump here you ARE going to be jumping a cessna.
They used to have a great videographer. She was really friendly and made the experience for tandems and upjumpers when the pyscho at the desk was on form. Rumors abound about why she left... from going back to school to hitting the boss. For sure they lost their best instructor and some of the students are mad at this too. When I was there one kid drove for 2 hours only to be told that he couldn't jump because all the instructors were doing tandems and his instructor (sally?) wasn't there.
Overall - don't go here!!! The gear is old and crappy. the planes SUCK and are dangerous (I overherd 2 of the pilots talking about them not meeting FAA regs.) and the guy that owns the place is just out to make money. You might have to pay more at other DZs but it's worth it.

Stopped in got on a load right away. Heads-up staff, asked me the right questions to make sure I would be safe. Clean facility, nice packing area. Beautiful view from altitude. The only con I could find was the 182 (they have a King Air they jump during the busy season), but I had a blast jumping it. Stop by, say "Hi," do a jump. You won't be disappointed.

I surprised my husband with a Tandam Jump at Marana. We were both impressed with the personal attention he received. My husband loves to ask questions and his tandam partner was more than happy to answer them all, before AND after the jump. All my husband could say for the first 10 minutes after his jump was WOW! All in all, it was a wonderful experience and we would HIGHLY recommend Marana Skydiving Center for a first time experience.

I just got my A license from Marana, and had a blast doing it. The instruction was top rate, as they progress you gradually from static line to free fall. I felt totally comfortable and confident on each jump. The other people at the field were the greatest, they all were full of energy and exitement. I'd really like to go back soon! P.S. I want to have Stu's babies.

Just like anyone else, skydiving is something I always wanted to do but never could find the time. Or maybe it was my fear of heights keeping me from going? Anyways, I finally called up Marana and made the appointment. When I got there the people were laid-back, fun and interesting. They were very supportive for someone's first time. The jump was different than I had pictured it but well worth it. It was the scariest and most exciting thing I had ever done in my life. Marana's staff made me feel comfortable and their prices were affordable. I'm totally hooked and I will be checking out the ground classes for a solo jumper!

I am still learning and have had nothing but good experiances. The price isn't too bad and you get more then what you pay for.
They use the static line proression and I am finding it very helpfull. They work on canopy control and proper exits. They start having you help pick the jump spot (show you a couple of time first) and have a lot of help on the ground when you get there. If you are interested in learning, this is the place.

I received all of my training at this DZ. The DZ uses the static line course. The instruction was top rate and focused on safety in the air and under canopy. The prices are some of the lowest around and the Gear/Rigger shop is always available to fix whatever's broken/provide whatever you need. I was at the $99 BOOGIE over Memorial Day weekend and watched a reserve ride early on Saturday. The owner of the DZ had the reserve repacked and the individual jumping within 6 loads of pulling the silver. Not bad service at all. Overall, I feel comfortable jumping there and enjoy the King Air rides to 13.5K. On most loads you are up to altitude in about 13 minutes. A little longer if tandems are getting out at 9.5K. No Boogie fees and the next one is Labor Day Weekend....you can't beat $99 for two days.
