The Palm At Skydive Dubai

Don't get me wrong, because i do like Skydive Dubai, "The Palm"... but to be honest it doesn't feel like a place you should go, if your intentions are to jump a lot (say, team-practice).

At any given time there is a TON of tandem tourists waiting for their tandem master, and i got the feeling that the staff working at the DZ primarily where there to service the passengers.

The packing area for licensed skydivers is really small (6-7 persons max.), compared to the significantly larger Pro-packing area... and "normal" skydivers where constantly pushed to the back of the line to make it easier for the Tandems.

in general "The Palm" felt more like a tandem-factory, than a real DZ
(but the view is still pretty hard to compete with :D)

I did a few jumps here when I stopped off for work....the aircraft are great as are the 2 drop zones.

The atmosphere was a bit exclusive and I felt a little sidelined at times.

There are no words to describe the feeling you have when you jump...

I did in Australia this was great, in Dubaï this was simply amazing.

The scenery is breathtaking, the team is so professional and friendly.

This is the best I've done in my life and believe me I'm an adrenaline junkie. Skydiving is the best ever.

You are hesitating...don't think more, just do it!
By the way, it was just so awesome that I'm doing it again next month :-)

Had my 1st tandem there, and it won't be the last! Ok, i can not compare with other teams & facilities because i have not been somewhere else, BUT the Skydive Dubai Team looked very professional and serious on what they do, but also they have fun on doing theri job! Book your tandem in advance, as they are fully booked in short time (no wonder!) Absolute highly recommended!

Jumping off 13000 feet! Wow!! It's not even jumping, its freefalling. Such a thrill... adrenalin pumped in my system for like 2 days afterwards lol.

You get briefly but properly instructed to how the experience is gonna happen, the plane takes off, then your heart skips a beat when the door opens, you sit on the edge of the plane and aaaaaa... freefalling.... heartbeating... over Palms Jumeirahm, such a wonderful scenary - amazing location!!

Parachutes opens and you stand still in the air. Wow, you now own the world :)

Flying over the location, left n right then landing! You wouldn't even notice how high your voice is while your screaming, jumping, high-five-ing hahaha.

Jumping out of a plane over the Palm Jumeirah must have been one of the most exhilarating, thrilling experiences.
The breathtaking view of the whole of Dubai including the Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, the World Islands, Dubai Marina and more, was fantastic while freefalling right over the Palm.

This being my very 1st Tandem Jump with Skydive Dubai, I have been left with wanting for more!

DZ2 is one of the best places I have ever jumped. A little bit expensive compared with Spain and some other countries, but planes & equipment all in perfect conditions.

I wish the management to reconsider the min jump requirement for Palm DZ as this DZ is lot more suitable for lot of us living nearby or in Abu Dhabi areas.

The owner and management of SD are sparing no effort or expense to create one of the worlds most fantastic locations for skydiving. I would put this on a "must do" list for every skydiver that is serious about the sport. With the scenery, some of the most experienced coaches and instructors in the world working there on a full time basis, regular events planned and enormous tunnels coming up in November it is a must for any skydiver.

Ive only jumped at SD2. This place is pretty awesome. This is the first large DZ ive been to. Its also the first DZ ive been to outside the US. It has an international staff as well as international jumpers that make for great vibes. The staff are very professional as well as friendly. SInce I am now working in Kuwait, I now have a reason to go to Dubai every month! Cant wait till they finish the hotel and wind tunnel!!

Skydive Dubai is a great place to jump for all experience levels. If you are just starting out your skydiving career, or have hundreds of jumps each location will have something for you. Plus the people that jump here make the experience that much better. Both locations will soon be the premier spot for skydivers of all disciplines, with wind tunnels and other permanent facilities quickly being constructed at this very moment! I have not yet jumped at the Palm (SD1) due to license restrictions, but it would be a great place for a tandem and more experienced skydivers. The desert location (SD2) is still a great time and for those who want to learn how to skydive what better place to land than in the soft desert sand.

Couldn't have been a better experience with such an awesome view of Dubai. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere, Im totally hooked if only I could get SkyDive Dubai to respond to my emails requesting information on how to attain my AFF certification to enable me to make my first solo jump.

Skydive Dubai 1 (SD1) is the first place I did a tandem. I was hooked from then. An amazing experience. The view, staff professionalism and friendly approach contributed greatly to that. I did my AFF at their desert campus. The instructors were good and efficient; they helped me at every point in my training. Although I have 48 jumps recorded I do not have my A license yet. I must do 10 coach jumps with an instructor that I am about do. All in all, what a blast flying with the coolest crowd I know.

I was terrified. I had seen a skydiver fall to his death as a child in Canada and that image haunted me for over 40 years. I never jumped, despite most of my friends trying it over the eyars. But that was strange - normally I am a risk-taker, a fun girl who was Naui cerified in 1985, raced Porsches on a track for fun and isn't afraid of anything... except skydiving (ok, and hairy spiders). One day I decided enough is enough, I must do this! So I just up and called and next thing I know I had a jump time!

From the moment I arrived at SkyDive Dubai, I felt I was in good hands! Greg was assigned to me. I explained that I was afraid, but determined to do this tandem jump! He was was so calm and confident that it immediately put me at ease.

The anticipation in the plane is surreal. When I look at the great video and pictures SkyDive Dubai provided, I barely remember giving the thumbs up in the plane! But one thing I can see is that I was like a kid in candy store. Clapping with excitement. Never in a MILLION years did I think I could ever look that happy 3 minutes before jumping out of a plane!

Anyway, the jump was incredible. Once I got used to the feeling like a hairdryer was blowing up my nose, it was amazing! The view just simply can't be beat. I live in JBR, exactly beside the dropzone. But seeing it, and the Dubai skyline and the Palm Jumeirah from 13,000 feet during the freefall was just mindblowing!

My instructor, the equipment, the location, the venue... everything was just so fantastic!

I have since been back and brought 7 friends to do it again! And as I type this, I can hear the SkyDive Dubai plane taking off with some lucky jumpers - which of course is making me want to call them right now and see if they have a spot open later today...

Anyway, from a diehard scaredy cat to someone who feels they may need a skydiving "fix" every 6 months - I cannot say enough about SkyDive Dubai. Really just so fantastic!

I recently heard - "When skydiving, don't worry about the fall - worry about the addiction."

I think they may be right!

Skydive Dubai seems to have set the goal of becoming THE skydiving center worldwide - a tough and challenging target. It seems that being owned by, and with the direct support and involvement of the Crown Prince of Dubai, they've made an exceptionally good start. There's nowhere I'd rather be skydiving!
