I am from April '09 course, I have not finished my training yet, am in work placement and let me tell you a story that happened to the 18 of us :
Basically we applied the course because it was NZPIA certificate and licence. In the middle of the course, without any advise, the management changed from NZPIA (the federation from which most of the NZ DZ are affiliated to) to a weird ParaNZ one (created on political matters, with only 5 affiliated NZ DZ!) claiming that was the same.

They took our money of course, never gave us the advertised licence.... How is that: professional skydiving or professional rip-off?
They change course director so often that you don't know what is going on really : Is it safe for students jumping then?

Because of their incompetence I was grounded in my work placement for 4weeks : Is it once again what you expect when you applied for a course that is suppose to put you straight in the air?

My advise is definitely not to applied for this course, you'd rather go to a good and recognized DZ and negociate a tailor made training with good safety level and ground training, few coachings, you will certainly pay less and definitely have no headache!!!

For my first Tandem jump it was a great experience from when I walked in the door until walked out with a huge smile on my face.

The guys were super helpful with loads of jokes to calm the nerves. I got the photo and DVD option that was exceptional, I can't believe those guys can film and take photos while falling at 200kph!!!!

Definitely a great dropzone with an excellent vibe..Cheers Guys ;-)

The vibe at a dz is sooooooo important. Christchurch has the worst vibe of any dz i have been to. The packing shed was full of jumpers who were fed up with the place!? Beautiful scenery though.

I am a student of the Diploma in Commercial Skydiving Course that takes place at this dropzone. However I have also done a tandem here (before I started the course) so I have had experience as a customer also. I thoroughly enjoyed my tandem and the quality of the photos that I got was excellent. The whole thing felt very professional.

As a student on the diploma course I am enjoying myself immensely. The weather often puts a damper on proceedings but this is a small issue really. The course is constantly being refined and improved (its already pretty awesome). As a way of getting into the skydiving industry and a way of learning heaps and making yourself a safe skydiver this course is superb. I highly recommend it to anyone that is interested.

I've said all I wanted to say, pm me if you want any other info.
