I've been studying at the school for a month now, I've learnt a heap. I ran the numbers and it's a very cost effective and fast way to get your first 200 jumps, under world class instruction.

The student landing area is a narrow strip of land not far from the runway, but being out in cow country there's paddocks on either side to land off. In December the school will be moving across the road so there'll be a lot more room to land and we'll be able to spin the landing pattern around. When it rains the ground gets very soggy. You can get soaked shoes, but it's also soft for hard landings.

Recommend to anyone looking to get into the industry or even just skydiving in general.

The skydiving school is a great place to learn with awesome coaches and friendly people. The facilities are good but will be better when they move to their new site in december. With a small class they need the cesna running again but the pac xl750 is a great plane to jump out of.

Excellent intro to skydiving. Tutors are a wealth of information. Things are a bit disorganised as they have recently shifted up to auckland from methven but new LZ is being built which should be better.

In opposite of a lot of dropzone in New Zealand, fun jumpers is the moneymaker!

As the name says, it is mainly a skydiving school. The tandem are still big part of it (as anywhere else), but the facilities have been built to train skydiver way further then the aff! So depending when you go, you got a lots of beginners (start of the classes) or lots of 4-way option (end of the classes)

Either way, you enter a bunch of people that jumps all the time together. If you're good, they will all wanna jump with you... or not, hard to say because they change every 6 months.

In global, I found it's a good place. You got amazing quality instrutor, fun jumpers around, and a Caravan that give you amazing views of Mt Hutt, even Mt Cook on good weather!! And the landing field is always along the airstrip: so legal down wind landing!
