I jumped in Rotterdam in August 2016.

Easy to reach from the city centre and the Randstad (train+bus), this DZ offered me a good day primarily because of the "local club" feeling. It seemed rather not commercial, but members were kind and open to a stranger, providing a thorough briefing and the material I needed to rent. They offer nice and soft PD Navigator mains, which I enjoyed.

Proper ID is required in advance for security reasons as they take off from the commercial airport next door. This dependence and the location may cause delays or long "hold times" from traffic control also from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport far north, depending on winds and current active traffic paths, so perhaps better to go early or call in advance.

I was able to jump from 12k in the first load as soon as ATC allowed. The comfortable C208 was waiting for us inside the airport and can carry up to 15 jumpers I believe. I think these people did a good job finding a green landing area in an extremely urbanized region with commercial air traffic like Rotterdam but with VERY clear points of reference and more than enough alternate fields around.

It did take about 15 minutes highway to be driven back to the DZ, which may justify some of the pricing. While in the air loved the views over Rotterdam's port and the amazing skyline with the Erasmus bridge NE of the landing area, as long as one remembers to turn for landing!

Getting there was pretty easy from the train station, I came all the way from Paris. The DZ itself is pretty nice with comfy couches, a nice bar and some cool locals. The downside is that this DZ takes off a commercial airport and it takes them about an hour or more to get a load up. The grand caravan was sweetly fast but anyways... the most important thing about this DZ is the view. I've been around the world and this is practically one of the few DZ's inside a city... in fact, you jump right in the city with sky scrappers and what not all around. The sweet part is that the city has a canal where I think they bring in exports or what not and the city itself is right in the coast of Holland. My home DZ is all the way back in the Caribbean, Puerto Rico, my DZ has one of the most breathtaking sceneries with beach landings and what not but take it from me... Rotterdam has a view you cant miss! The other downside is that you'll get driven back from the landing area to the DZ and it takes 20mins to get back! I don't know how you guys do it, but keep at it, the view is all worth it.

I had an opportunity to visit Skydive Rotterdam dropzone. It's an amazing skydiving club located close to the Rotterdam airport. Very professional staff, nice people with their professional attitude.
I would recommend everyone to go there and enjoy that cool view while flying over the Rotterdam outskirts with sunny fields :)

If you thought skydiving in a big city wasn't possible, you were wrong.
I find Skydive Rotterdam a very cool dropzone because it gives you the opportunity to skydive above the great city of Rotterdam. Once you've opened your parachute, you have a great view.
The other side of the medallion is we can't jump on the airfield because it's an international (busy) airfield. And because flying through big lifting airplanes isn't such a good idea, the club managed to rent a field on the south side of the city. It takes an extra 15 minute drive to get back to the clubhouse, but I'll buy that to jump above the greatest city of Holland.
Furthermore, the club is very professional. The instructors show their best to make sure everybody jumps as safe as possible. That gives me a good feeling to jump there. Nothing makes me more happy actually...
So if you're around, come and take a visit!

Blue Skies!
