Thanks, Greg, Jonathan, Astrid and Doyna. You guys are the best! This was my first jump and certainly not my last. Anyone who has ever wanted to try skydiving should check these guys out. What a setting, over the Cabo beaches. I have been fighting fires as a career for over 29 years and I thought that was the ultimate rush....not anymore. I look forward to jumping with you guys on my next visit. Hope you enjoyed the small bottle of tequilla.

Johnny, Greg, Thys and Karen were outstanding, fun, and gave 8 first timers the ride of their lives. Greg and Thys are superior instructors. Several of the group were seriously trying to figure out when they could return to jump with Greg and Thys again! Johnny is great, runs a tight ship, and the services he provides are outstanding. I would recommend Sky Dive El Sol (Paracadaismo El Sol en espanol) in Cabo San Lucas to everyone I know.

On the basis of the experience I had there, I am now pursuing as much time in freefall as I possibly can!

Small, low key DZ located in a superb spot, on the beach in Cabo San Lucas, in Mexico.. a twin engine, a local airport a few minutes away.. from 13k you end up landing on a gorgeous beach on the bay of Cabo, you'll get to fly your canopy over cruise ships, admire the views, witness sick ass sunsets, goof off with the locals.. Karen, Jonathan, Greg, Thys.. it's not their first rodeo and they have decided to hang in Cabo, make a few jumps and you'll understand why. It's awesome, I loved it, had a blast, I'll be back... but yes, as some have pointed out, be aware, this is not, by any means a easy landing area, it' a high traffic playa with lots of very solid obstacles, it's not flat, prone to cross winds and lots of people, an ocean on one side..

For my first jump I couldn't have asked for a more comfortable and awesome experience. The view was extraordinary and the instructors were excellent. I would do it again in a heartbeat!!

Simply put...we corresponded via email w/the DZ, jumped in the car and drove the entire Baja Pennisula with three weeks to jump every chance we could get. When we arrived, the first DZ rep explained to me that only jumpers w/high jump numbers (we're new/under 160)could jump there. Now, in our correspondence we covered this topic and even purcheased flotation devices. In chatting with the DZO, he Ok'd us to jump but explained they were having trouble maintaining permission landing on the beach. So, after a week of waiting for them to chat it w/their attorneys (that's what he told us at least), we hit the road and spent out time SCUBA diving. A few days later and 1,000 miles of driving we made it to San Diego where the poeple and the jumps were great.
After all that...I would recommend emailing with them but even that won't give you any security so I would say, give them time to get organized and professional before going. Those are my thoughts and impression...NOT GOOD. Email me if you want more....

Jonathan, Eric, Sam, Greg, Damian, Karen... Thanks for being part of such an amazing experience! I never thought I'd feel like this today, like I'm so lucky I had the chance to experience flying... All of it, from the fear while signing the paperwork, to the tears while floating in the air, looking at my country from that place where only lucky people do, to the endless smile I haven't been able to get rid of... I said it that day, I don't think there are many words that can accomodate to what I want to say, so I'll just go for the basics: GRACIAS! Jonathan... gracias por la buena vibra, neta! Eric: gracias for letting me fly with you!

The staff is wonderful (Johnny, Eirc "The Viking", Damian "Seagull Slayer", and everyone else is cool too!)
they explain what to do and when to do it, and they make you feel comfortable, when you jump they explain to you what you're doing, and they let you steer the toggles for a little bit to!

The Medano beach is close to the Marina and you can easily see The famous Arch from there. Also although there are plenty of boats, the end of the beach, where the landing zone is, is pretty uncrowned and safe. You can use the boats as tetrahedrons, because they do tell wind directon very accurately. There are no Palm trees or beach tents or cables in your way, and you can easily spot the landing zone from above, since often the exit is over the ocean. However, the spot is normally good and there are some outs. Flotation gear is required for Tandem jumpers and low time divers. There are plenty of jet skies that can pick anybody doing a water landing. You must fill out a waiver and have a log book, and a license. The reserve must be in date. Credit cards or checks are not accepted. There is usually a packer, but you can pack for yourself too. Packing area is behind the Tabasco bar, over a mat but with no roof. The trip to the airport takes about 15 minutes from the beach. This tends to be a fairly low key DZ, with several social activities for your friends and family to do if they don’t skydive. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops in Cabo.

Cabo San Lucas is a great place to jump. The view from altitude is amazing, and the staff at SD El Sol is very friendly. Every jump you land on the beach in front of the tobasco bar, so if it is your last jump of the day there is beer waiting for you. If traveling to Cabo you must bring your rig. I carried my rig on the plane, and neither airport security or customs gave any trouble.
Bring extra pull-up cords, there is a shortage in Cabo:)
