These guys were so friendly and even tolerated my bad German, though in truth I think they just wanted to laugh! Really grateful that they spoke English, offered to jump with me (flat and free).
And great BBQ food too - though you might not want to be driving home afterwards!
In short if you are near, it's a great weekend dropzone.
They did only have a cesna this year (Aug 07) but should have something bigger next year.

Very nice skydivers there. The facilities are really great (never seen such good showers on a dropzone).

Many freeflyers. Tubes...

Only con is that you have to cross the runway after landing to get to the hangar.

Hassfurt has become one of my favourite DZs in Germany. The vibe is very nice there and they don't have this "in-crowd" thing there, so everybody is talking to you no matter where you from or what you are doing. The facilities (toilets, showers..) are the cleanest I have ever seen on a Dropzone. Showering feels like you were at home! The packing area is also huge and has carpet. There is always enough space for everyone. The landing area is very large (lengthwise) and there are plenty of outs in 3 directions.. But in 1 direction there is a big forrest, so you have to watch out for that one. They don't have a restaurant/bar directly at the dropzone, but a few meters away there is a restaurant which belongs to the airport. But the town is not far away either with lots of restaurants..
All together its a very nice place to visit.. If you are nearby make sure to come and make a jump!

It's a pity that there where no baloon jumps! Otherwise this Dropzone is going to be a first class DZ.
