Being the only fun jumpers oriented DZ in Sydney area, "picton" is swarming with "funnies" on weekends. Being there for the christmas boogie is probably the best thing you can do for yourself.

Well the DZ was my first DZ that I jumped at and I have jumped all over the place since.
You just cant beat the great atmosphere that drives you to more and more jumps.
yes the toilets do smell but who stays in there for very long as you would probably be on the next load. Good sevice (most of the time ).
Picton has some of the most Experienced
instructors, JMs and also tutors
as they do more and give more than most.
some of the country's best jumpers start and still jump there because it
has the best weather/planes and atmosphere.
blueskies, steve

Went for freeflying, picked up on bus (mad bus driver) from city. Easy going people, skyvan runs hot all day long. Great jumps., great people, awsome views of city and coastline, what more can i say? Everyone should visit this DZ at some time.

I've been to most dz's in the states and all through Europe and there's no place like home!!

Otter, beaver, skyvan, bell jet ranger (chopper jumps!!) and soon a BRAND NEW XL!!

People are pretty cool, weather's not too bad and there is always free beer in the afternoon for something first or stupid!!

Bird-man, FF, canopy, Rel etc its a rare time there isn't someone about to help/play.

Visitors have included Jtval, czechbase, cornishchris (moved here from UK after just one visit!!?), jari [bird-man] and TEric.

Was there for a holiday and decided to take my rig along. Didn't know anyone there but everyone was extremely friendly and helpful.

Ticket prices are reasonable if you buy in lots of 10.

They have a skyvan which is great to go up in and go to 13500 feet in about 10 minutes.

Highly recommended!

Picton (as it's known) rocks. It's got turbines to 13.5k, $30 jump ticktes(if you buy in 10s), huge landing areas, a canteen, a bar, creeper pad, shaded packing area, free camping and showers and a great bunch of people. The only roblems are the bunkrooms (free) and toilets leave a bit to be desired and the turnaround can get a little slow in the afternoon depending on the number of tandems but it's usually not a problem to get 6 or 7 jumps in a day if you're there from first to last load.
For jumpers in the Sydney area, no other DZ come close!

BEER!!I'm the first to write a review?
Ok when I go to a new dz I rate them on a few things.

first and foremost are the people--- from the moment I got in the shuttle at the train station. I felt like I was at home...only my family had strange accents! Picton was without a doubt the friendliest DZ(pronounced DEEZEE!!lol) I have been too.

then I look at the grounds and safety awareness---the place was huge! ROB S&TA(in U.S. Safety & Training Advisor) was EXTREMELY helpful and friendly

the jump ship is something I look at after the others b/c If the people arent friendly or safety conscious I dont NEED to look at the jumpship b/c I wont jump there. The otter ran fine.

manifest(marina) was great, Elise Vale is an Awesome photo/videographer SHE EVEN GOT MY PICTURE IN THE ASM!
the after party! Of course, I bought BEER! you didnt expect me to try to cheese out on my aussie friends did you?
Paul,Jasmin, Ed, all the students and staff were just great! Thank You for the AWESOME Opportunity! I will be back someday!
