Post trump Legal Actions, Including his Enablers
kallend replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
Mark Meadows, Rudy Giuliani, Jenna Ellis, John Eastman and Christina Bobb, top campaign adviser Boris Epshteyn, former campaign aide Mike Roman, former state party chair Kelli Ward, state Sens. Jake Hoffman and Anthony Kern, and Tyler Bowyer, a GOP national committeeman and chief operating officer of Turning Point Action, the campaign arm of the pro-Trump conservative group Turning Point USA. Trump was not charged, but he is described in the indictment as an unindicted co-conspirator. His campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment. -
The Continent’s Consensus on Climate?……Crumbling
kallend replied to brenthutch's topic in Speakers Corner
There are certainly activities that I find "off-putting". I'm sure everyone has one or more things like that. To the greatest extent possible I avoid thinking about things I don't like, and just let others get on with their own lives. Some people, however, seem to obsess about what other people do in private, and get all bent out of shape about it. These busibodies need to learn to mind their own business. -
“It’s my absolute honor to be in Congress, but I serve with some real scumbags,” Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Tex.) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union.” He called out two GOP colleagues — Reps. Matt Gaetz (Fla.) and Bob Good (Va.) — who have broken with Johnson and voted against other legislation proposed by the GOP majority. So there you have it.

The Continent’s Consensus on Climate?……Crumbling

Who needs brothels when you can just become a star. "When you are a star they let you do anything". (Video available on request.) -
George Santos look-alike. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/04/19/us/politics/dave-mccormick-farm-pennsylvania.html David McCormick’s origin story goes something like this: He grew up in rural Pennsylvania, southwest of Scranton. He baled hay, trimmed Christmas trees and otherwise worked on his family’s farm. And from those humble beginnings, he rose to achieve the American dream. “I spent most of my life in Pennsylvania, growing up in Bloomsburg on my family’s farm,” Mr. McCormick, now a Republican candidate for Senate, told Pittsburgh Quarterly in 2022. “I’ve truly lived the American dream,” he wrote in a fund-raising appeal in October. “My life’s journey — from growing up on a farm in Bloomsburg, to graduating from West Point and serving in the 82nd Airborne Division, growing a business in Pittsburgh, and serving at the highest levels of government — reflects that.” “I grew up on a family farm from the time I was a kid,” he said at the Pennsylvania farm show in January. But interviews in Mr. McCormick’s hometown, as well as a review of public records, news coverage from his childhood and his own words, suggest that he has given a misleading impression about key aspects of his background. He has explicitly said and strongly implied that he grew up on a farm, claimed in 2022 that he had “started with nothing” and that he “didn’t have anything,” and he and his campaign have recently described his parents as schoolteachers. In fact, Mr. McCormick is the son of a well-regarded college president who later became chancellor of higher education systems in Pennsylvania and Minnesota. He largely grew up in the president’s sprawling hilltop residence, which students called the president’s mansion, at what is now Bloomsburg University. etc.

Recycling works for panel and battery materials. Not for fossil fuels.

Well, the grown ups included quite a few GOP representatives. Looks like Johnson has figured out where the adults are to be found. And it's not in the "Freedom Caucus".

Did Pax Americana include Vietnam and Korea? Pax Romana lasted centuries. Even Pax Britannica lasted 99 years.
