I had 43 jumps. The biggest plane I'd jumped was a Cherokee-6. I was in Florida, land of the east coast skygods, & I was going to jump those BIG DC-3's from big altitudes!

Easter 1985. The camping area. Hey, it was my first boogie (brought single malt scotch instead of beer), cut me a break! ;)

Easter Boogie DeLand 1985. Gus volunteered to shoot us doing a tube dive on his own dime (& paid for his own slot too) because, as he said, he was burned out doing 4-way & 8-way & needed a break. Gus back-looped on exit & we spun out pretty well & "It blowed up real good!" Later that night, over some single malt around our camp fire, Gus said he giggled during the whole jump. Earlier that night in the hanger, as the competition videos were being shown, our silly tube dive was shown five times in a row; both Gus' footage & footage shot from the plane. The crowd reaction was unexpectedly positive. Gus also shot 35mm of us "dirt diving" (clowning) also. Hope to have them scanned some day.
