CF Spektakel 2001

CF Spektakel stands for Europe's main event in Canopy Formation. It has been organised annually since 1997 and has been growing steadily. We regularly host 40-50 participants from several countries and continents. This summer it will be once again held from 7 - 15 July at Paracentrum Teuge, The Netherlands.

CF Spektakel offers what you need for CF, whether you're an experienced CreW dog or a beginner. We have coaches / organisers, CF equipment available, CF videomen, and plenty of CF jumpers from a variety of countries. The DZ offers whatever else you might need. Brand spanking new facilities, loads of lift capacity, bunkhouse (alternatively a free camping), bar with skydiver meals at skydiver prices, rigging loft & shop The Parachute Case next door. The best thing is that we are totally free to manage the CF activity. Like having you own playground!

CF Spektakel was first organised by Eric Schimmel and Marc Calluy in 1997. Out of love of the CF discipline they formed a cross-border Benelux Alliance to organise a unique CF event in Europe. They still do it for the same reason, but for this year the concept has been adapted to cater better for both beginners and experienced CreW dogs.

Adapted concept

In order to maintain a balance we have adapted the concept for CF Spektakel 2001. We are going back to our roots to serve (but not to protect) both experienced as inexperienced jumpers, in their own way. What is going to change? We have noticed that the coaching needs from experienced jumpers are changing. Their technical skills, theoretical and safety knowledge have grown enormously over the past years. The coaches for more experienced jumpers will progress to be load organisers, organising CF dives, putting the right people together and briefing / debriefing the dive. Not necessarily jumping along. We don't mention any names yet, but we have several seriously fun and capable people in mind.

The good news is that we have been welcoming a steady flow of beginners at recent editions of CF Spektakel. That is a good thing, coz we need new blood in this 'daring' discipline. CF Spektakel is the best place to start CF. We have very much knowledge concentrated in 1 place. CF canopies to use and a good atmosphere and other beginners to share your fears (sorry, experiences) and reliefs with.

However, beginners do not require the same coaching and coaches as the experienced CF jumpers. Marc Calluy, Danny van Oosterwyck and Hans Schoeber are available for the beginners. They have been training hard with the French, both in technical and coaching / briefing skills. We also have a list of backup for beginner peak loads.

As always the good things remain unchanged. If you jump with a coach / organiser you only pay half his ticket! Videomen are plenty available and of course exit altitude will be 9.000 ft. at an unchanged Euro 14,00

Registration

The registration fee is going down. In the new concept our costs are considerably lower. We pass this advantage on to you. Registration fee for experienced jumpers (with their own CF equipment) will be Euro 23,00. This includes camping and Saturday night BBQ. Beginners without their own CF equipment pay Euro 69,00. For the 46,00 extra you can use a CF canopy for an entire week.

You can register by sending the registration fee to RABO bank Avereest (Holland) to account nr. 31.29.81.341 in name of Eric Schimmel. Or if it is more convenient for you to pay in Belgium, send the registration fee to bank account 833-4582755-54 in the name of Marc Calluy in Kruibeke (Belgium). Do not forget to mention 'registration CF Spektakel'.

Practical tips

Note in your agenda to join us in Teuge from 7 - 15 July 2001
There is a registration form available on the website (see below) which will help you go through the bureaucracy quickly at the DZ.
Alternative to the camping is the bunkhouse: 18 beds, free warm showers, breakfast included. Call Annelies on +31-55-323 24 62
The DZ does NOT accept credit cards. However, you can pay with your bank card, cheque or cash. Payment by other means than money can be acceptable in a limited number of cases, upon approval by higher management. Please enclose your picture.
The DZ will respect your local rules on reserve repack cycle.
The DZ requires a valid Third Party insurance covering skydiving.
