Anomaly Insomnia Camp #3, Orlando FL

Posted Friday, March 5, 2004

By Trent Alkek

The beginning of the season is upon us, and there is no better time to brush up on ALL your skills, from safety to flying skills. Brush up your freefly skills, or get them started on the right foot with the 3rd Anomaly Insomnia Tunnel Camp April 13-16! As always, the camp will feature the same world class coaching from Anomaly, Joao Tambor, Juliana Se, and Fabian Raidel.

Coaching is focused on individual freefly skills for the first 2 nights, but will include 2-3 way flying with Anomaly and other students as the skill levels increase. "Solo skills in the tunnel are great for fundamentals, but you'll find that it can be a lot different when you're flying with others both in the tunnel and in the sky," says Steve Boyd of Anomaly.

The focus of the camp is to develope and improve skills that many overlook, such as taking sitfly docks, transitions, and all-aspect body flight. In the last camp, competent sitflyers learned that there are hundreds of points they could improve in their flying, from fall rate control, leg awareness, and body position to small tricks that make freeflying with others much easier. "Most people come to the tunnel the first or second time thinking that they don't have all that much to work on, but within the first 20 minutes of flying, they've already improved on hundreds of small things that they never even knew existed," comments Jed Lloyd of Anomaly.

All coaching is very personally oriented to each individual in the camp, so they can maximize their learning in the tunnel. Ground instruction is given before each session and video debriefing is provided at the end of each session. Participants receive 2 hours of tunnel time with coaching, hotel accommodations, and ground transportation to nearby DZs.
