Guner

Item: Guner

Description:
One of the first things you'll notice about the Guner when you first put it on is how quiet it is. The next thing you'll notice is the smooth curves and smooth styling of the helmet shell finished off with a Fastex buckled chin strap and leather chin pad. We listened to our customers and developed the Guner to meet all of your expectations.

You wanted semi-flexible, smooth curves, quiet and enough room to put at least 2 audibles on the inside of the helmet.... and you got it with our new Guner helmet!

The Guner comes standard with BH's ingenious Thermal-Fit liner, Fastex chin-strap closure and the great finish quality that you have come to expect from BoneHead.

Pros: so comfortable and quiet
Cons: looks a little silly

I love this helmet, I'm a beginner and it's so comfortable and quiet..I haven't even bothered to bake it either. It sticks out a little on the sides and makes me look like snoopy but I can deal with it

Bonehead Guner -- Good helmet, could be better
Rated by: fencebuster (more about me) on 2008-01-21 08:25:08 (user reviews) Review ID:1926

Pros: Quiet, good fit
Cons: Exterior finish ccratches easily

I bought my Guner after 6 jumps and I immediately noticed the difference in free fall. It was much quieter than the student helmest provided by the DZ. The fit was good and I never baked it. My model has the newer chin strap and it is very secure. The finish was a bit of a disappointment -- as a student, every non-stand-up landing seems to leave a mark on the exterior. I had a run in with a fence and a very hard landing in which my third point of contact with the ground was my head, and the helmet was very durable and protected me from injury -- clearly a good thing. Overall, I am very satisfied, but the manufacturer should do something to make the exterior finish more durable.

Nice helmet
Rated by: mrken (more about me) on 2007-03-21 00:00:00 (user reviews) Review ID:1771

Pros: Comfort, looks cool, double audible slots
Cons: Matte finish scratches easily.

The newer boneheads use a black plastic buckle, not the metal seat-belt style usually pictured (I was told at my local pro shop this may have been due to the old buckle coming undone during FF). The fit the helmet is feels perfect (haven't bothered to cook it yet), and nice and snug when I have my SOLO and OPTIMA loaded into both audible slots. The only minor complaint I could have about this helmet is that the sexy matte coating shows scratches and nicks quite easily compared to the Mindwarp that I put through a couple face plants during AFF :)
