FFX

Item: FFX
Manufacturer: 2K Composites   (1251 Hits)

Description:
The enclosed video camera housing has been fully moulded into the shell in a revolutionary new design, making this the narrowest and the safest camera helmet on the market. It also includes the option of using a stills camera. The FFX brings new meaning to the word aerodynamic.

The FFX has been designed to provide you with the option of using a stills camera in addition to a built-in video camera. All camera angles have been lined up 'true to line of sight' so there is little compromise to body position or angle.

The exterior of FFX helmets is smooth, so there is little worry of line snags thus dramatically reducing the need to cut the helmet away. The FFX features enclosed dual altimeter ports that will fit all makes of audibles.

Side FX Freefly helmet
Rated by: trigger (more about me) on 2007-06-15 12:14:50 (user reviews) Review ID:1826

Pros: Finish
Cons: Not on par with their older products.

I brought this helmet as a replacement for a 2KC helmet that was trashed in an aircraft emergency. I went with 2KC as the original FF1 helmet was of good quality and served me well, however the newer Side FX helmet seems to be of cheaper construction though the overall finish is good. As a result of this purchase i have decided not to jump it and use a protec instead and for the money i wish i had gone with bonehead.

FFX is best I've seen
Rated by: flyingc (more about me) on 2006-09-27 00:00:00 (user reviews) Review ID:1658

Pros: Light, Smooth, Safe
Cons: Expensive

Besides the price and 8 week(really 11 week) wait for it, this helmet is amazing. For a sidewinder I haven't been slapped too bad, especially if I look down and to the right on deployment. My PC 1000 fits perfect with minor adjustments from the start. Its light, smooth, safe and I would recomend it to anyone.

Great product
Rated by: HUSHPUPPY (more about me) on 2006-06-23 00:00:00 (user reviews) Review ID:1573

Pros: Custom fit, super finish, light weight and snag free!
Cons: Haven't found any!

I have the FFX in two tone (erie) blue and black paint. This helmet rocks. Easy to set up and comfortable. It took almost 11 weeks to get it but was worth the wait. Mine is fitted for the SONY HC-40 and required very little adjustment straight from the box (I use a thumb screw to secure the camera to the mount). I also got the cut-away chin cup for added safety, the cameye and bite switch and all are easy to use. It is a bit expensive but not too much when compared to other helmets setup in a similar configuration. Overall a great product!
