End of PST - end of an Era? Can't Post

Knowing that this is the last year of PST/CPC, with all the chuckles and jokes, it was a bit sad to read this today...

http://www.canopypiloting.com/...p;pcid=81&cid=82

It's an great read for everyone, especially those who are just getting into swooping. I used to look up to the people mentioned in that article and still do. It was interesting to read about the early days of soul swooping that evolved into what we now know as Canopy Piloting. It is an end of an era, but definitely NOT an end of competitive swooping.

I'd like to thank Jim for everything he has done for our sport. He is one of many people that have inspired (and continue to inspire) me to get better at flying my canopy. Good luck in whatever you chose to do after this, man. As you said, the sport will continue after you and i hope you get to see that dream become a reality. I think that would be the biggest reward for all your efforts in organizing and putting up with all of this crap Cool

Good find, and a good read Mike.

Jim, thanks for putting that out there - it's very enlightening.

The PST has gone downhill ever since I left Colorado (just kidding), but I would like to thank Jim Slaton and the rest of the judges, organizers and DZOs who helped make the PST happen. I only have 2 PST comps (and numerous CPC regional and championships) but it was still a great experience and we the swoopers are the losers with this news.

I know not everyone was kean with Jim's style, but you have to acknowledge that Jim was ultra passionate about the sport and it will not be easy to find a successor if there even will be a successor.

Thank you for all the hard work you did Jim. I appreciated the experience. Wink
