Recommendations for non-Sony Sony service Can't Post

My HDR-HC1 died; I am pretty sure it's just the cable between the touch screen and the main board. Sony wants $515 to fix it. For that price I could just get a new CX100 but I've grown really attached to the HC1.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a non-official Sony service place that they've had good results with? This is probably a $80 repair if it's what I think it is.

TV Specialists in SLC, Utah is good.
I've used CamcorderRepair.com once, they did a good job on a Canon GL1 for a fair price.

Re: [billvon] Recommendations for non-Sony Sony service [In reply to] Can't Post

After getting a riduculous quote from a local repair shop here in Elsinore, regarding a dead LCD on my HC5 ($380; $280 of that labor) I found these guys:

http://www.alamocamera.com/

I have since had the camera repaired for $165 including parts, labor, and return shipping. They also did a complete cleaning as part of the repair.

I know another jumper from Elsinore just sent in a Sony to the same company for repair.

Good luck....
