Freefly suit Can't Post

I've searched the forums but haven't found anything current in regards to freefly suits. I am looking at buying a new suit and am wondering where I can get the best deal? I need a custom fit with low drag.

I have been looking at LiquidSky, Ouragan, Firefly and FliteSuit primarily...I love my RW suit from FliteSuit but it took a while to come in and I think they are going to be busy building jumpsuits for JFTC in the near future.

Any first hand experiences and recommendations would be awesome.

Re: [x46255] Freefly suit [In reply to] Can't Post

I own 2 firefly suit that are great. Both custom made for me and both fit perfictlly when i got them. But i like the liquidsky suit and may look into one of those next time. Ouragan is a bad ass suit just to pricey. I like the look of liquidsky just as much and they are cheaper!

Re: [x46255] Freefly suit [In reply to] Can't Post

i bought a 2-piece suit from Freak N' Suits this past fall. great service, fast delivery, good price for the suit and a very reasonable cost for the custom design i had them put on it.

i also have a friend who flys camera who has had one for thier suits that's going on it's third year and still looks good, so i know the quality and durability is there too.

check them out-- cheers

I have a LiquidSky freefly suit and LS swoop shorts and absolutely love them both. The suits are the highest quality and look and fly fantastic. Great customer service as well. They are a bit pricey, but definitely worth the money.

Yeah...I've been leaning toward LiquidSky too...I was on a load in PR where pretty much the entire load was wearing their suits...obviously they're doing something right.

Anyone dealt with LiquidSky and could tell me about their customer service and how long the average wait time is?

And Karen...there is no way in hell you'd catch me in that monstrosity you call a jumpsuit! Wink

You may want to ask Luis about that one.... his new jumpsuit is a LS. I think he got it pretty fast, if I remember correctly... while he was in Puerto Rico.

And monstrosity?? Hahahahaha!!! Those stripes are just a *little* shiny..... :-) Are you not going to jump with me now... because my jumpsuit is too blingy?? Hahaha!!

I talked to Luis but I wanted more perspectives!

And the jumpsuit isn't the reason I don't jump with you...you have 999,711 more jumps than I do and I don't want you to make me look stupid in the air! But then again I've never actually seen you on a load...Florida...PR boogie...CK...

LiquidSky's customer service is the best I've dealt with. They make sure you love your suit and everything is perfect. I don't know about average wait time, but you will have it within the time period you are told. Both times I received my suit much faster than expected.

Re: [x46255] Freefly suit [In reply to] Can't Post

Man I don’t. I currently have a bomber, but its too baggy and its giving out. I just had to add that I just bought a suit from Matter. Its going to fit "tight" and I am looking forward to that! All custom of course, and right at 300 bucks for their fully loaded, custom 5 stripe pro-concept design. I had to take like 20 measurements. This thing should fit AWESOME!!!

Just got a new one a couple weeks ago

Edit: my torso is not freakishly long, nor are my legs freakishly short (i'm rather long legged for my height) - but that's a weird camera angle

+1 Worth repeating

I have ordered 2 jumpsuits from LS and I am SO happy with them! It'll take about 2 months to get it, but it is worth every penny!

Which is why I would not buy one. It's such a trendy thing right now, it's almost comical.

I don't get it.

It's a high quality, great looking suit. The company has fantastic service. Lots of people like these traits in a suit/company so they buy the suit (trendy). Because of all these good traits, you *don't* want one?

And there are many other manufacturers that exhibit those same qualities. The marketing campaign of LiquidSky, in my opinion, has increased ten-fold. Along with the result of an over-whelming amount of customers switching to LiquidSky, literally overnight, tells me that people are buying more for the "coolness" factor; which isn't a new concept in sports marketing, and I believe everyone can agree.

In my opinion (I don't have quanitative evidence to back up my statement) LiquidSky has gotten pretty big -- pretty fast. History shows that customers don't like this. Look at Myspace, got too big too fast and people began to realize how "trendy" it was and now it is a sinking ship.

I think my approach is more rational than an impulsive consumer buying up the coolest thing. Does the sticker price of a new LiquidSky suit justify the purchase? All of the attributes listed I have experienced with all other suit makers. My buddy just spent $700 on a new LiquidSky FF suit...ridiculous.

+1 here!!! I don't get it either... there is a reason WHY all these people want the suit. Let me tell you, I ordered a suit from another company earlier this winter because it was going to save me a little money in comparison to the LS suit, and maybe a little part of me got on the "I don't want to be trendy" wagon. BUT, guess what, I got what I paid for, and after the first suit and a remake of the suit didn't fit, I sent it back for good and ordered a LS suit. I flew it for the first time the other day, and it is the MOST COMFORTABLE thing ever.

Bottom line is... if you don't see a lot of one suit around, sure, it may be cooler since it's not as 'trendy,' but there's probably a reason why a lot of people aren't flying them. Unsure Personally, I'm not going to spend 600 bucks for a suit only because everybody else has it or its cool.... that thing better fly well, be comfortable, and worth every penny. (and my LS suit is! Smile)

Yeah, you're totally right. I stand corrected. The more and more I read about LS, the more I find out that they are super comfy and it fits really nice. I actually did have an experience with with Tony Suit where I had to send it back twice. What is the material LS uses?
