Any DZ's near Farmington New Mexico? Can't Post

I might be in Farmington New Mexico for a few weeks soon and was wondering if it's worth bringing my rig with me.

I'm coming all the way from Scotland so don't want to be dragging my rig over if there's no DZ's nearby.

Thanks,
Cabbage

No, there are not. There is a guy with a 182 in Shiprock...maybe you could talk him into taking you.
Gould's have a Twin Otter that is just sitting, over in Monument Valley...maybe you could talk them into it?
Albuquerque is the closes you'll get, I'm afraid.
You're almost closer to Moab than Albuquerque.
Four Corners by air is stunning, especially over the San Juan river.
BTW, this is a "Places to Jump" topic, methinks...

Thanks DSE,

Looks like it's not worth bringing my rig unless I can dodge what I'm supposed to be doing for a few days.

Any chance you could move this to the "places to jump" forum incase someone else has any ideas?

Thanks again.

I like the bit about a guy with a 182. Totally jives with what little I know about this region. I never noticed how close Moab is to Chinle. Maybe I'll head out the next time I visit my mother.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! I am not sure what you think you are going to find in Farmington NM, but it may very well be a big surprise!!!!!!! But, it could be worse, you could be going to Shiprock!!!!!!!!LaughLaughLaughLaughLaugh

Go to Mesa Verde, lots of cool things to see there if you are into history.

Laugh I've got a good idea what to expect in Farmington NM and knew there wouldn't be a DZ on the doorstep but was hoping there might be one within an hour or so driving.

Thanks for the replies,
Cabbage
