Florida is a great state in which to go skydiving due to the pleasant weather conditions for most of the year. Most skydiving centers are open year round, although some of them may close on certain days once the summer heat and rains arrive. It is recommended that you contact the center at which you intend skydiving first to check whether you need to make a booking and whether they are closed on certain days or not. The busiest times for skydiving are generally in the afternoons and on weekends, so if you are a first-time jumper or prefer to have less people around, schedule a morning appointment.

Types Of Skydiving

If it is your first time jumping, don’t worry, you will receive 30 to 60 minutes of instruction from a qualified instructor before your jump. Your first jump will be very safe, as you will be attached to the instructor in a tandem dive. Jumps are done from between 10, 000 and 14, 000 feet, and you will freefall at 120 miles per hour before the chute is activated and you float gently down whilst enjoying the gorgeous views. If the skydiving bug bites you, then you can take lessons and complete the requisite number of jumps accompanied by an instructor in order to get accreditation as a solo jumper.

Indoor Skydiving

If you love the thought of weightless soaring through the air but are not the adventurous type, and the thought of jumping out of a perfectly good aircraft leaves you less than enamored, opt instead for one of the indoor skydiving locations. Here you will be able to enjoy all the same the thrills as you would in skydiving, in a vertical wind tunnel, without ever leaving the ground or stepping into an aircraft.

Outdoor Skydiving

There are many skydiving centers in Florida, most of which provide tandem, AFF and solo flight facilities. Many of them also offer camping, RV hook-up, showers, clubhouse or restaurants and much more so be sure to make a plan to skydive.
