When you are looking to skydive, Arizona is one of the best states to do just that especially with popular drop zones like Skydive Arizona. Arizona is known as the Grand Canyon State, and is situated in the southwestern region of the United States. There are various schools of thought as to where the name of the state is derived from; some contend that it comes from the Spanish name, Arizonac, which was initially applied to an area near to the Mexican silver mining camp and means “small spring.” Another possible origin is the Spanish phrase árida zona which means “arid zone.”

Arizona is famous for its desert landscape and cactus plants. It is probably more internationally renowned for its Grand Canyon though, from whence the state nickname. This geological feature was carved out by the Colorado River and is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Another site of interest in Arizona is the Barringer Meteorite Crater, which is one of the most well-preserved meteorite impact sites in the world.
