Our name, Skydive Gypsy Moths, was named after the movie filmed here in 1969 at Benton Field (now Stearman Field) "The Gypsy Moths" about three skydivers and their travelling thrill show barnstorming through a small midwestern town one July 4th weekend.
Stars: Burt Lancaster, Deborah Kerr, Gene Hackman
Aircraft at Skydive Gypsy Moths: Two C-182's one of which has a Texas Skyways O-520 conversion.
Large hangar with carpeted indoor packing under a Big Ass Fan.
"Stearman Field Bar and Grill" is open daily and very supportive of the DZ operation. Great food and drinks!!

Very awesome DZ

Skydive Gypsy Moths Rated 5 by: islandgirl on 2014-08-13

Pros: It is a very fun place to skydive. You have a busy restaurant on the airport with many spectators. When you are done sk
Cons: There is quite a bit of plane traffic

This DZ is fun. Located just outside of Wichita, KS. The landing area is in front of a busy restaurant that has a huge out door patio. It's like jumping a demo every jump. There is also mid week jumping. If they have the skydivers they will run the plane. I love that. For experience jumpers I think there is a lic. Requirement of B +100jumps but don't take my word! Call and ask them!
