Small DZ feel great experiences

Skydive Sussex Rated 5 by: Finley1128 on 2013-11-18

Pros: Awesome family atmosphere! Close to NYC
Cons: None

This DZ is as friendly and laid back as you're going to get. I did my first tandem July 26 and have done all subsequent 60 jumps with my Skydive Sussex Family!
The DZO's, coaches, instructors, pilots and staff make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in the door. The go out of their way to make sure you have a good time and are taken care of. Fire pits and BBQ's are a weekend staple as well as awesome jumping.

As a new jumper it's always a pleasure to walk up to the packing tent and be greeted by friendly faces and a warm atmosphere.
Great food within walking distance as well as beautiful scenery in free fall.
Give them an afternoon and you'll be hooked on not just the sport of Skydiving but Skydive Sussex.

A short trip from the Big Apple

Skydive Sussex Rated 5 by: Douggarr on 2013-08-26

Pros: Run by super great guys and very professional
Cons: Aircraft upgrade will be needed to draw fun jumpers

Rich Winstock, a USPA board member, now is a co-owner and operator of this DZ. If you're in the New York area, it's a must to get some jumps here in your log book. The staff is first-rate (I know them all -- refugees from another DZ). And if you're looking to do a tandem, I highly recommend Sussex because of the staff's experience.
