I came down from Seattle, expecting to jump at the other DZ. However, the other DZ was closed. Wish the other DZ would have updated their website about the closure.

Anyway, did some calling around and found North Texas and they were willing to take me up. The place is nothing special, but they were very friendly and provided me with my skydiving "fix".

First time skydiving and I went twice! can't remember my jump masters name but he was awesome. The whole atmosphere felt inviting, everyone was very friendly. Made me want to hang out there all day :p

As a girl who just did her 1st tandem skydive, I must say that the experience of Jumping is sensationally amazing. My instructor (Bobby) and videographer were amazingly nice and bc of them I wasn't nervous but more excited.

HOWEVER…..to say that the owners (or whoever runs the place) are just as great can be a flat out negative. I had to call repeated times to ensure that my reservation was booked as they didn't have my name on our group list, when I did call the lady I talked with spent over half of the time screaming at her kids...right into the phone at the same time, and even though we were guaranteed our video 30min-1hr after our jump (3 of us got videos out of a group of 6 jumpers) they told us once we were all done that it would take at least 3hrs but they would mail it to us so we would receive it on the coming Tuesday (we jumped on a Saturday morning) which we said was fine. Well….here we are now almost 2wks after our jump date and I still have yet to receive the DVD, nor have the 2 other jumpers. We've called and complained and was told that she forgot bc she was moving but she would mail it to us that day and we would have it next day (we're in the DFW area) and well…that day came and went already too. I've called multiple times and no one has returned any calls and at this point I'm starting to think I'm going to have to dispute the charge of the DVD since I haven't received it yet and I'm thinking that I may never.

If you wanna go somewhere secluded to do a jump for your 1st time or if you're an experienced jumper then try this place out BUT if you're wanting an actual training course in what you're going to be doing and the do/do not of how to properly make sure you're the safest can be….go to SkyDiveDallas (we actually went to SkyDive Dallas 1st thinking that it was the place where we were supposed to go to and sat thru the class there before realizing we were in the wrong spot…glad we sat thru the class though bc North Texas Skydive did not have the same 30min video training but they did give you 10min of instruction to not grab the instructors wrist).

Happy for my 1st jump but really would like the DVD so that I can show my family and friends the experience.

trying to get my reservation refunded, because they forgot about us
Pros: cannot comment on facility, never made it to the facility
Cons: took reservation money and forgot about us!

I set up a reservation for my sister and girlfriend to skydive for the first time with North Texas Skydiving Center. The whole family was going to come out and watch them. I talked to Scott who said he was the owner, gave him my credit card info for a deposit on the reservation. He charged the card. Said he would have people at the airport waiting for us and gave me a number to Mary who would be in charge that day. The day of the jump, I had not heard from them, so I decided to call. First I called Mary. Turns out she was on vacation, and did not know anything about it. Then I called Scott. He did not remember me. He then told me he made no promises about being there on our jump day. Only that he would try to have someone there. But he had no problem taking my money. No one called to tell us the jump had been cancelled.
So on a beautiful, blue sky day, I had to call my family before they left for the airport, as we were coming from different locations. Scott said he would return my money and to have a nice day. So now I am trying to get my money back, and looking for a new location to go skydiving with my family.

I don't get the warm and fuzzy about this place, and with the way I was blown off, would not feel safe jumping with them.

Rhome, TX site

Cons: Cons: Extremely unprofessional

We were not at the Cado Mills site, but at the Rhome, TX site. The contracted staff that was brought in were excellent. They made a very nervous group feel comfortable when the surroundings displayed everything but safety. The owner/pilot was extremely unprofessional by displaying these qualities: Being 2 hours late for our scheduled arrival, having empty beer cans inside the plane, not being hospitable and communicating with our group, and the facilities were in terrible shape with no air conditioning, running water, or changing areas. Overall, I would not recommend this place, but would recommend the tandem instructors and videographers.
