Well, here we grow again!! Skydive Moab, teaming up with Skydive Arizona, will be hosting their 3rd Annual Mother of All Boogies between September 28th - October 1st! The scenic and electric town of Moab, in the awe-inspiring state of Utah, will once again open her arms and extend a very warm welcome to past participants, and all new adventurers. Come and be enveloped in all her grandeur!

This magical place did just that for Clint MacBeth and Shelley White. Their love of skydiving, and being surrounded by the "mars-like" terrain, was surely on the top of their list when making the decision to live and play in Moab. Inspiration and foresight, found the couple opening their small Cessna dropzone, located just 15 miles north of the town. Being able to skydive full-time with friends and newcomers alike, all the while making a living at the very same time was just too ideal. And Voila! Skydive Moab was born.

Most of the 9 month skydiving season is spent introducing new students to the sport with tandem jumps. But...when fall arrives, all the hustle and bustle and energy is directed toward the planning and executing of the M.O.A.B.!!!! (We love that name).

The M.O.A.B. gives us the chance to get in touch with the world of experienced skydivers. We are inviting all, experienced or not, to come and play in our world. We guarantee you won't be disappointed. At least that's what we're counting on! Each year, the boogie has continued to surpass the previous and this has been largely due to the patrons, their feed-back, (good and bad). This only serves to help us in our infancy; to help with the growing pains of success. Thank you to all who have been with us so far and a big thank you in advance to all who will be joining us this year. Tell two friends...hell, tell all your friends!!

This year's event welcomes Skydive Arizona with all the airpower we'll need. The plan is to bring their Super Skyvan back, and depending on the numbers (this is where all of you come in), the Super Otter and/or their King Air A100. Just FYI, last year's Skyvan and King Air weren't quite enough to keep everyone in the air as much as all would have liked (who are the hardest people to please??). Not sure of the answer for that one, but...Bryan Burke, plane organizer from Skydive AZ, made an announcement during the 2005 Boogie, that there will be enough airpower for this year's boogie to suit everyone's needs! You go BB!!(He rocks!)

Along with Bryan Burke, a host of some of the best organizers in the world will be on hand. Andy Honigbaum from Arizona Airspeed will be organizing RW for all levels. He'll also be trying to break the Utah RW state record, a 20 way set last year, organized by Airspeed's Craig Girard. World Champion Steve Curtis, who also jumps and coaches at Skydive Arizona, will be organizing Freefly, VRW, Hybrid and Tracking jumps for all experience levels. Jay Epstein of Adrenaline Exploits will be organizing birdman jumps and will also have demo suits by Phoenix Fly.

This year's boogie is shaping up to be quite eventful. You really don't want to miss out. FREE camping is available at the dz this year and for those of you who prefer a solid bed, we have reserved rooms at the Super 8 Motel near downtown (rooms will be held until the 28th of Aug.) Moab is a happening town, with lots of extreme sports and enthusiasts. This year is no exception. The "other half marathon" will be holding their event during the same time period as the Boogie. We are anticipating rapidly occupied rooms, so don't be procrastinating. Book your accommodations now. If you like, you can check out our web site for more info.

After a hard day of jumping, wouldn't you just love to melt into the experienced hands of a licensed message therapist? Ambrosia Brown, LMT will be on hand throughout the event to help you and your aching muscles escape into butter-land. Once you're relaxed, join us Thursday evening for 25 cent wings at our favorite local hangout The Moab Brewery. Speaking of The Brewery, daily catering for this year's event will be provided by the Moab Brewery. Friday night after jumping we'll have a BBQ and bonfire with FREE beer! TGIF!! Surely we'll have a gorgeous Sunset Cross Country Jump on Saturday and the evening's festivities are being fine-tuned...so stay tuned in….

So now you have no excuses not to attend! It's all been taken care of for you (including the extra porta-potties)!!! Something told me to include that minor detail. Anything to convince you to come to Moab and experience the majestic scenery for yourself. Watch the rocks turning red and orange under the glow of the setting sun over this beautiful countryside. After you've filled up on the colorful scenery, you can firewire your footage at the station provided while showing your friends. So don't forget to bring those cameras! Moab is such a unique place; each and every jump will look magnificent on video. Share your clips. The more footage you share, the better the boogie video will be and the more bragging rights you'll have when your segments find themselves centre stage!

Pre-Registrations have already begun to arrive. This is certainly well appreciated. It helps to get our engines revving and also lets Skydive Arizona get their appropriate engines turning. If you pre-register before September 15th, you'll receive a $10.00 discount on registration fees. The more advanced registrations, the more advanced preparations. And, thanks to all of you in advance! As we stated earlier, we are a small dz, and your pre-registration also helps us with initial working funds. It's all good!

On behalf of Skydive Moab, we would like to extend an open invitation to each and everyone to come to the M.O.A.B. We are expecting approximately 250 + jumpers to be in attendance this year. Come to Moab, Utah, being renowned for it's awesome landscapes and countless legal BASE jumping sites, this town, this dz and all of us, are proposing a successful week-end with all the ingredients for fun, laughter, and memories. We are counting on you to spread the word, spread your wings, and spread your imagination, and let us be part of your memories.
