After a short break from the swoop competition schedule, the Performance Designs Factory Team met up in Kolomna, Russia for the fifth stop of the European Swoop Tour. Meet Director and DZO, Roman Lednev, organized an outstanding event with a $15,000 prize purse and a brand new, diamond shaped pond to showcase.

Shannon Pilcher and Jonathan Tagle presented a free seminar on the "Priorities of Progression" to a captive audience of Russian skydivers who were interested in learning more about canopy control. A 45 minute Q&A session after the seminar lead to some in depth discussions about competition strategies and techniques.

High winds delayed the beginning of the Speed event on Friday only leaving enough time to finish two official practice rounds before sunset. Better weather conditions on Saturday gave the PD Team the opportunity to rip it up in Speed and Distance. Shannon, Jay, and Jonathan each lead one round in each discipline.

Going into the final day of competition, all four team members were in a tight race for first place. Each round of Accuracy was critical. It was a game of inches and down to the last round to determine the winner. In the end, Jay managed to be victorious once again. Jonathan took second, Shannon placed third, and Francisco finished fourth. The PD Factory Team swept the top four spots.

Earlier this month, Skydive Elsinore hosted the last competition of the Canopy Piloting Circuit (CPC) in Southern California. PD Factory Team member, Jonathan Tagle was present to answer questions and give helpful competition tips to several canopy pilots all wanting to learn more about professional swooping.

"The CPC is a great way for advanced canopy pilots to get affordable competition experience. It was incredible to see just how much these guys have improved over the last two months because of the CPC's structure." - Jonathan

What's next? The PD Factory Team is in Stubenberg, Austria for the World Cup of Canopy Piloting to compete for the title of World Champion. This is the big event everyone has been waiting for...

Will Jonathan be able to defend his title? Can Shannon Pilcher, with three wins on the European Swoop Tour, win this one too. Will Jay Moledzki be able to break his World Record run of 522.2 feet? Could Francisco Neri, who's ranked number one on the Pro Swooping Tour, be the next world champion? Or will Ian Bobo's hunger for victory win him the gold medal?

Stay tuned for more...
