Micron - Best Rig on the Market
Rated by: jc106wcu on 2009-02-19 (user profile) (user reviews)

Review of: Micron in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'

Pros: Everything About it
Cons: None

Best rig around in my opinion. Rig comes with a lot of features and options. Spacer foam is extremely comfortable. Flaps are secure in freefall and never open prematurely. AAD is located under the yoke and reserve flap which forces you to check your reserve pin. Best of all, SKYHOOK! You will never know until you experience it. Try an intentional chop during a demo day with UPT. Amazing option and a must.

Great rig
Rated by: superstu on 2008-04-21 (user profile) (user reviews)

Review of: Micron in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'

Pros: Well built, comfy in all conditions, great customer service
Cons: n/a

I have 2 custom microns now and love them both. These rigs are super comfy, 99% of my jumps are swooping or canopy related and so I spend a lot of time in the harness and with the spacer foam, magnetic risers, and all stainless hardware, nothing beats it. fantastic rig from a fantastic company.

V310 Micron
Rated by: chris1269 on 2008-03-21 (user profile) (user reviews)

Review of: Micron in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'

Pros: Build Quality, Aditional Options...
Cons: None that are apparent

This is my first BRAND NEW Rig and boy was i excited when it arrived! I ordered the Rig with pretty much all the extra options that were available. Ok it was pricey, but i was convinced the money would be well worth it! I am extremly impressed with the build quality and attention to detail. Ive looked at every CM over and over again and i just admire the amount of work and time that has gone into making this superb piece of kit. Not a single flaw! I ordered the Lightening Split design (3 Colours) and it makes the rig look out of this world! How many rig Companys do you know that offer you such a varied option in designs when ordering? I ordered the Magnetic Riser covers which i had never seen in the flesh previous to ordering, and i love how they function and they overall design! I also got the 3D Spacer Foam which really does add to the comfort! Something which i didnt have with my old TearDrop SF!! I then got all the usual Extras, Hip Rings, One Piece Leg Straps, Collapesable PC, Hook Knife Built in.

I also got some custom embroidery on one of the ring covers, and it looks awesome!!

Im pretty much over whelmed with what i have recieved, and is almost too good to jump! I love it, i really think its the Rolls Royce of all Rigs. Would i recomend this rig to others, hell yea!!

BTW, it fits like a glove!!! It couldnt have been more on the Mark! Thanks UPT!!

~~~Micron Split Lightning~~~
Rated by: alainhel on 2007-10-13 (user profile) (user reviews)
Review of: Micron in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'
Pros: 3D Spacer, Skyhook, Magnetic riser covers, Workmanship
Cons: AAD controller position
This is my 3rd rig and it is by far the most comfortable. The workmanship and attention to details makes it a gear that will last for a very long time. The rig is freefly friendly with many safety features.
The only problem lies with the AAD controller that is located under the reserve flap. I strongly beleive that pin check is required in the plane but to check the AAD controller is pretty difficult. A good improvement would be to have a window in the backpad like the Javelin.
The split lightning pattern is an eye catcher at the dropzone.
New Micron
Rated by: Superfletch on 2005-10-19 (user profile) (user reviews)
Review of: Micron in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'
Pros: Excellent Pin Protection, harness is very comfortable
Cons: expensive, large wait time for new
My Micron is the absolute most comfortable rig I have ever put on. I feel as safe as anyone can wearing this rig while flying in any body position. When designing this rig you are able to choose from many different colors in many different configurations. Excellent product.
Micron container.
Rated by: Kimsdu on 2005-04-22 (user profile) (user reviews)
Review of: Micron in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'
Pros: The best rig on the market
Cons: None
I have been jumping with a micron for about 3 years and I have to say I believe it is the best rig on the market today.
The micron is custom made so it fits to perfection.
This is the only container I have had where I can fly in confidence knowing all of my flaps are going to stay in place. (A must for freeflyers)
I have currently put around 3000+ jumps on my micron and it still looks great with no wear and tear.
I am going to keep jumping a micron as long as they continue doing business and am looking forward to whatever innovative invention Bill Boothe next comes up with.
I am looking forward to recieving my new Ouragan collection rig with the skyhook system on it.
if in doubt about ordering this container just go ahead and call the factory,the customer service you recieve is the best even after you get your rig.
All my students jump Vector....All my student are very happy.
Thanks relative workshop for being the leaders in container design.
Micron, the most reliable container around
Rated by: Andrewnewell on 2004-10-19 (user profile) (user reviews)
Review of: Micron in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'
Pros: Outstanding quality, great design, extremely comfrotable
Cons: Did take a while but well worth the wait.
The Micron is with out a doubt the best container and harness system I have used.
It's ergonomic design (especialy the contoured yoke) and extra wide leg straps give the flyer unparalleled comfort both in freefall and under canopy. The quality and strength of the materials used to create a micron and its "bullet proof" design create a sense of absolute trust in its ability to function correctly every time.
Strong, comfortable, reliable, Are three words that I would choose to describe this kit.
A must have for skydivers with a fetish for high quality equipment
Rated by: FfChArLeS on 2003-07-02 (user profile) (user reviews)
Review of: Micron in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'
Pros: High quality and attention to detail
Cons: none
I've been jumping my V-308 for over a year now and still every time I pack, I really enjoy the attention for detail Bil Booth and his team have put into the design and manufacturing of this rig.
I've chosen for a pull out opening system on this one for safety reasons (freeflying and premature openings.
If you're orientating on a new rig you should take a look at a micron or a vector 3. Of course there are cheaper rigs on the market and they will bring you down safely. Just remember that most a lot of modern rig design originates at the RWS: 3 rings, hand deployed pilot chutes, velcro less riser and pin covers. Latest RWS inventions are anti twist lock hard cutaway cable covers on the risers and very neat velcro less toggles.
This indicates that RWS really thinks over design before they manufacture. On top of that their products are manufactured really neatly. So if you're buying this container you know for sure that it is good.
For me it performs good, feels very comfortable and also looks good.
Buy this container
Rated by: JFC3 on 2003-02-26 (user profile) (user reviews)
Review of: Micron in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'
Pros: Comfortable, fits like a glove, well constructed
Cons: I don't have two
One the first things that pops into mind is how damn comfortable the leg straps are under canopy. This may seem insignificant (and had always too me) but I went from Javelin to the Micron and there is a major difference. Also the way they cut their yoke is just ingenious. Of all the things all the other manufacturers have stolen from RWS I wonder why more haven't hit upon this. Now it may not make a difference doing belly work, but free flying it makes a significant difference. My last two rigs (the Javelin before and the Micron now) were both custom cut for me. While I never feared the Javelin coming off it would alway snake off my shoulders in a sit or slide back and forth on my back during the jump. The Micron is always right there. I was amazed after the first jump and haven't thought about it since (which I did on every jump with the Javelin). It's freed me to concentrate more on the jump.
Customer service at RWS was remarkable. Akin to what you would receive at PD. Marc, Gwen, Rosi and the whole gang over there took care of all my nagging questions and assured my every concern. I had my handles embroidered and there was a typo on the cutaway. I wrote and told them of the error and they replaced it within a week and a half. Then I was completely satisfied.
I wish I could show you how this thing came out too. It's seriously beautiful. And I'm not saying that as the proud owner. Soon after I got it I brought it to my DZ and then travelled south for some jumping and everywhere I've gone I've gotten the best comments on how it came out.
I have become so in love with the attention to detail, the magnificent quality, the great construction of this rig that I douubt very highly that I will ever jump another container system again. I will reccomend this to every one I know and to even those I don't. If you want the best go for a Micron.
