Racer
in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'
Pros:
Effective simplicity... organic fit... true "Zen" rig.
Cons:
Cost $90 for a reserve pack job. Lazy rigger fear...
Have owned many Racers, in over 28 years of jumping. "Nothing fits like a Racer". This rig is well thought out..no restrictive flaps on reserve..pins safely secured inside, on back.."Speed Bag" deployment, allowing for even staged openings (no messy lines waving in the breeze)..nice "low profile" metal cutaway handle option ("puds" seem a bit slippery, not much to grip onto). Simple minimalist design on the main flaps (no big plastic stiffners, for lines to wrap around). I also prefer velcro for holding my main risers, feels extra secure and streamlined. I rarely experience line twists, unlike with other systems I have jumped. The bag comes off clean, since there is nothing grabbing it, causing it to tumble. One of the few "hand made" rigs left on the market. Like getting a pair of custom shoes. This rig is "organic". After 20 jumps or so, it forms to your body. Soft and round, like a human body. Feels sensual..moves with you..a true "Zen" rig. You don't see too many out there these days, cause other companies with slick marketing and free "sponsership" have dominated the market and perhaps the original owner of Jumpshack, who is known to be a bit ornery at times, has scared off a few..It's human nature to want to go along with the "herd", like sheep..to "fit in" with the crowd. The Racer is for "freethinkers", who want safe, comfortable, well-thought-out, rational simplicity in their gear, not fancy looking, foam filled, color coordinated, plastic stiffened hype.. Racer is for "aware" skydivers, not swayed by fancy ads, sponsered "sky-god" peer pressure and the status quo.

Racer

Pros:
Light, comfortable, and the way it looks
Cons:
absolutely none
The racer is the nicest rig out there. If you get it custom made(or even if you don't) it fits so nice on your back. It has a lot of experience making the rigs... like 20 years. their reserve deploying method is the fastest because of the pop-top. I recommend this rig to all who wants the nicest rig on the market!!!

Pros:
Comfortable, light, looks great on me.
Cons:
None
Yes, I had a racer made for ME. I got it back in Febuary and it rocks. I got velcro sides and tuck tab top, I great blend of old and new. Why did I get one? So you would ask me why.. I think this is one of the best rigs on the market and will be for a long time to come.
I hear the reserve openings are quick, But I wouldn't know, yet..

Pros:
Right track
Cons:
none
Well, I Have the newest Racer on the market. It is without velcro and has the new Tuck Pockets. I have to say I am very happy with the new changes. I have had 2 other racers and always felt they were the most comfortable rigs on the market (I have owned a Reflex, Vector 3 and Wings). The racer lacked updates and I put up with all THAT velcro. But, all is changed and I am pleased with the fit and function of the system. JumpShack is back on the right path. Consider a new one, you won't be disappointed

Racer

Pros:
Comfortable, light, inexpensive
Cons:
Some riggers don't care to pack the reserve
I currently jump 2 Racers and have owned 4 since I started jumping. These rigs are incredibly comfortable and light. Most of the negative comments about these rigs come from people who have never inspected or jumped one. Good customer service as well. Can't go wrong with a racer.

Pros:
Customized, quality workmanship
Cons:
None yet
I got a Racer for my first rig and have a Triathlon 190 and a PD 193 in it. I've got a pull-out with the tuck pocket riser covers. One ride on the reserve, which worked as intended and opened VERY quickly...
Overall, I was very impressed with the ease of customizing my order (digging up leftover tie-dye scraps to use on it, totally custom-made to my measurements, bungee cord loops on the legstraps, hook knife pouch, dive loops, etc.) and the quality of the craftsmanship that went into the rig. They actually held up delivery for a couple of weeks because they didn't like the way the riser covers turned out and wanted to fine-tune them. I don't think you'd get that kind of attention from some of the bigger manufacturers.
It fits great, it works great, customer service was excellent, and I have no complaints.

Racer

I have been jumping for 19 years, in that time I have owned several rigs, but ever since I jumped the Racer, my choice in container has been easy.
Comfortable harness, safe and eficient reserve deployment.
The Racer looks cool too!
The craftmanship, choices in size, colors and materials are second to none.
My wife and I both own racers and love them...
If you haven't jumped one I suggest you give it a try...
Many new riggers complain about the difficulty in packing the Racer; A little skill and a little patience will make the rig look and perform well!
Safe and Blue skies

The Racer NOS is the best harness/container on the market. This harness fits you like a velvet glove, it's the most comfortable system I've tried and I think it has also a cool look... I'm actually jumping with the BirdMan wingsuit and my Racer is perfect for this kind of jumps. In fact, the main container has no corner, so you can alwais have safe deployments. With this harness you have also more movements freedom, and I think this is very important in wingsuit jumps.
Also, the Pop-Top system gives you a consistent freebag deployment, and this is the best thing do you want when you have a lot of burble beyond you and you need to use your reserve canopy. If you're buying a new container, I suggest you to buy a Racer. It's the best choice !!!

Racer

As a full time jumper comfort and safety go hand and hand. i presently own two Racers and intend on owning nothing but. A few people at my home DZ comment on what they think of the pop top reserve deployment..Funny thing is all their reserve pilot chute's have to go through a number of flaps before strutting their stuff. i love my racers and i'm one of the few that can check their own main pins in the plane before exit. I consider the racer to be one of if not the safest rigs out there and the comfort offered by the racer is second to none.
Blue skies to all.
play safe and enjoy the great blue yonder

The Racer is simply the best rig on the market! I own two Racers and couldn't be more pleased. As a bigger jumper, I appriciate the fit and comfort offered by JumpShack. The strength of the harness is second to none. What else can be said about the reserve system.... It's the fastest and the safest out there. I don't trust my to anything but the Racer.
