Ouragan Free Fly Suit
Rated by: madamfinch on 2008-05-07 (user profile) (user reviews)

Review of: Ouragan FreeFly Suits in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'

Pros: Awesome Fit, Excellent Service, Fast Delivery and Worth Every Penny!!
Cons: I wish I could afford two!

Ouragan suits are undoubtedly the best suits I've ever seen, not only are they totally original but I've never seen a suit fit so well!

I measured myself for the suit and sent off the order, Kefran emailed me straight away with a design custom built just for me! The design was awesome and I straight away gave the go ahead! Kefran gave me an estimated delivery time of 3 weeks, to my surprise one week later my suit was here in the UK and oh my gosh was I pleased!

Everyone should get one of these suits if they can afford it! They aren't the cheapest suits on the market but you certainly get what you pay for! The quality of the suit exceeds others by miles and they just look awesome!

The suit is a pleasure to fly and although I've only jumped it a handful of times since it arrived 4 days ago, I'm already having comments that my flying is much better as the suit really fits well!!

I would recommend Ouragan to everyone, this is the way skydiving should be!

No disappointments, no stress, just hot suits, fast delivery and awesome service.

Blue Skies!!

My New Ouragon Suit
Rated by: 0_Gravity on 2007-09-05 (user profile) (user reviews)

Review of: Ouragan FreeFly Suits in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'

Pros: Quality, Craftsmanship
Cons: None

I'd like to take a moment to share my thoughts with the community. I ordered an Ouragon suit and the people at Ouragon (Specifically Nancy, Frankais and Chris) were very helpful in asststing me in selecting a design, etc. What I didn;t expect is what arrived.

OH MY GOD, this thing is absolutely exquisitely made. The fabric itself is fantastic and either slips or grabs as much air as you would like. My speed range is from 100 to 185 mph - it's insane! I asked for a set of grippers and what came was a perfectly design matched set of blocks that integrate so well, they're difficult to see from a distance yet perfectly comfortable to use. In addition, the fit and finish of the suit is unlike anything I have ever seen. The cuffs are almost internal and the material outside doesn't interfere with the altimeter wrist band (read - no wear) yet meshes perfectly. I added padded knees & padded butt (hey - you never know) & they both have a heavy set of cordura on them. Unbelievable - simply unbelievable.

Joe at Deland said it best, "Man, you're making the rest of us look like @$%& when you're wearing that!"

My many thanks to everyone at Ouragon. I HIGHLY recommend their suits. I am yet to see anything comparable.

Ouragan rocks!
Rated by: maxf on 2006-04-21 (user profile) (user reviews)

Review of: Ouragan FreeFly Suits in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'

Pros: Perfect fit! Flies right! Looks hot!
Cons: Pricy

I used to jump a Firefly and Bomber suits before, they are not even close! I'll be quick here. Love the suit made by Ouragan! Got mine last year. It's comfortable, controllable, the amount of drag is perfect, the worksmanship is meticulous, the personal touch is definitely there! And the suit looks hot! Oh, I should mention that my wife is jumping her own custom Ouragan suit as well, and is very happy with it :) Other then the price - there are no downsides, but then again - you get what you pay for, and I am glad that I went with Ouragan this time.

Pros: great suit! design and quality of suit cant be beat
Cons: none

I received my Ouragan suit yesterday and it is so hot! Yuki was in constant communication with me and made any and all changes requested. When I ordered my suit I was told there would be a 3 month wait, but I got it in 2 (what a great suprise). I like my suit so much that I will definetly buy another.

You get what you pay for
Rated by: Reese04 on 2005-08-25 (user profile) (user reviews)

Review of: Ouragan FreeFly Suits in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'

Pros: Quality workmanship, design
Cons: Expensive, long wait... but worth it

It is true that you get what you pay for. In the case of my Ouragan suit, I paid $555 and waited four months, but it was worth it. This is the first full freefly suit I've had (went with pants and a long-sleeved shirt for a couple of years), and I absolutely love it. The quality of the workmanship, construction and attention to detail are second to none. I believe this suit will last a very long time.

The taslon material on the suit is very lightweight and breathes nicely. On hot FL summer days this is very important, and I've found that I stay cooler when I wear the suit instead of just shorts and a t-shirt.

I think Ouragan had problems with customer service in the past, but I did not find that to be the case now. Nancy was very helpful with designing my suit (since I'm not good at artistic endeavors). When I first flew the suit, I found it had more drag in the legs than I wanted. Since I was passing through Deland in a few days for business, I asked if I could bring the suit by and get some of the drag taken out. They were very helpful and accomidated my request. I dropped the suit off on Monday, and for a modest fee, I had it tailored and shipped back to me by Friday of the same week.

Overall, I am very satisfied with my Ouragan suit. It fits and looks great and the workmanship is outstanding. Nancy and Yuki were very helpful. When it finally comes time for a new suit (likely won't happen for several years), I will order another Ouragan suit.

Coolest suits on the market
Rated by: SkydiveMO on 2005-07-15 (user profile) (user reviews)

Review of: Ouragan FreeFly Suits in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'

Pros: Superb workmanship
Cons: $$$$

I absolutely love my custom two-piece Ouragan suit. I emailed a graphic of what I wanted and Nancy and Yugi made it reality. It’s my opinion that the quality of work on the Ouragan suits is unmatched by any other suit maker currently on the market. Unfortunately, quality and customization comes with a high price tag. That being said, the old adage certainly holds true that “you get what you pay for”. The quality of materials and seams will give my Ouragan suit a long skydiving lifespan. Nancy’s experience making suits for the abusive environment of the wind tunnel is very much evident in the construction of her skydiving suits.

There was a long wait period before I received my suit however I understood this would be the case before ever placing my order. I was well rewarded for my patience as my suit arrived with a personal note from Nancy explaining a few of the special little extras she had thrown in. Several of the jumpers at our drop zone currently own personalized Ouragan suits and we are all very satisfied with the work and service we received. As for customer service, Yugi was always available to answer questions and update me on the status of my suit. If you haven’t seen an Ouragan suit yet keep your eye open for the tell tail hurricane logo and check one out. As the proud owner of one of Nancy’s suits I’m more than happy to show mine off when asked.

Ouragan Freefly Suit
Rated by: Marion on 2005-07-11 (user profile) (user reviews)

Review of: Ouragan FreeFly Suits in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'

Pros: Custom Designs
Cons: Customer Service

I ordered an Ouragan suit and was measured by someone at Ouragan on January 2. It was ready on May 20. The wait time did not bother me because I knew people with Ouragan suits who really like them, and quality is worth the wait for me.

I got the suit, and it looked great. When I jumped it, the seam went so far up my butt that it was painful. I tried repositioning the suit on my body, but it didn't help.

I sent Ouragan an email describing the problem and attached photos. I paid to send the suit back to Ouragan for them to fix. I asked them to let me know when the suit was fixed and to send it overnight to me.

On June 17, I checked my bank account balance and it was off. I looked at the detail and saw a charge from Ouragan. I emailed Ouragan to see what was going on, and I got a response saying that my suit was shipped ground several days earlier. I did not authorize the charge to my card. VISA gave me my money back before Ouragan did (three business days later).

The suit still did not fit. It still gave me a wedgie, but now it was too baggy in the front of the crotch.

I was really unhappy about the unauthorized charge and the expectation that I would pay for shipping both ways because of a mistake on Ouragan's part (either manufacturing or measuring), and I asked Ouragan about whether I could get a refund and send the suit back to them. Ouragan offered to try to fix the suit again and pay for shipping, but I wanted to know whether I could get a refund.

I received an email saying, "To refund the suit money is one option, however, we do not refund the deposit $200." (I paid around $500 for the suit, so the refund would be $300.)

Based on the information in the email from Ouragan, I ordered a suit from another company.

I sent an email saying that I would take the refund, but that I was surprised that I could not get a full refund since the reason I was unhappy was an unauthorized charge to my bank account.

I had trouble getting in touch with Ouragan to get my refund.

Two weeks after Ouragan told me I could have a refund of all but $200, I called Ouragan at 4:00 in the afternoon since I had not been contacted all day.

Someone answered the phone and told me that I would not be able to get the refund as stated in the previous email. She said I would only be able to get $100 back since $400 of the suit was paid by gift certificate. She acknowledged that she had previously emailed me that all but the $200 deposit was refundable, and that she had made a mistake. She said I would get a call from someone on Monday who might be able to do something about the problems I had.

I spent a lot of time writing an email to him summarizing the customer service problems I had. I wanted to be sure he understood why I was unhappy with my experience with Ouragan.

I did not hear from him all day on Monday, so I called at 5:00 pm and left a message. Half an hour later, I got a call back. He had not received my email and refused to read it before we spoke. He said that I was never told that all but $200 was refundable, that I could have a $100 refund and keep the suit, that they did not want to deal with "customers like you bitching about things," and that I would never be able to order another suit from Ouragan. He also said I would be blacklisted at other gear manufacturers.

I was really just unhappy because
(1) Ouragan expected me to pay for shipping both ways because of an Ouragan mistake;
(2) Ouragan charged my debit card without my permission;
(3) Ouragan did not offer a full refund because of (1) and especially (2);
(4) Ouragan told me I would receive a refund of all but $200, then two weeks later (only when I called them) said they had made a mistake and I could get a refund of all but $400.

I don't mind waiting and paying more for a high quality suit, but the customer service problems were too much for me.

Ouragan suits: Pros and cons
Rated by: SkydiveNFlorida on 2005-06-01 (user profile) (user reviews)

Review of: Ouragan FreeFly Suits in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'

Pros: Nice looking, good materials, usually well made
Cons: Fitting seems to be locked to a mold, could use better QA

Ouragan has a very nice team. Some good points are that they take pride in their designs, and if you are looking to get something tribal, or some abstract design on your suit, they will do it (but it'll cost ya$$.)

I have a 2pc suit. The first time I got it they pants were too small in the butt. I sent back and they fixed.

I later gained some weight and had them remeasure me to alter the pants. The job didn't work out, they came out very very huge. They determined they would need more money to make new pants. At this point I had them make them, but when I got them they were just a small at the original pants that were too small, and now i'm back to the butt not fitting well (goes up my butt.) I have given up on alterations, and i'm just wearing it as is because i'm not willing to waste anymore of my time.

I have looked at a few of their suits, and the up-the-butt look seems to be kind of common. I think that the mold they use is for a small butt, and when you send in your measurements, they just scale the mold maybe, and don't account for different body shapes?

In the end, I like the suit, I just wish that the pants didn't go up my butt again. Nancy and her team are nice people and their operation has grown immensely in a short time. I would not buy again, though, because of all of the hassle with fitting problems. Also, I tried to inquire on getting my boyfriend a suit and kept asking for a quote and never got one. His suit from Firefly should be arriving in a few days.

Do not like new customers
Rated by: bigway on 2005-04-25 (user profile) (user reviews)

Review of: Ouragan FreeFly Suits in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'

Pros: Apparently good suits
Cons: Never have I had so much trouble buying something

I really wanted to buy a suit and some pants from them after good reviews & months ago I made contact with Nancy and am still waiting for my questions on if I can order a suit on rush order.

A number months ago i got a reply that their computer had been down. I replied asking about a rush order as I really want a suit. A total of 7 months from original contact and no answers have been sent to me. I really wanted to be a customer of theirs but they do not seem to want another customer. I guess some people think that it is okay to waste other jumpers time.

I have had better service from the FAA!!
