FreeZR

Pros:
comfortable
Cons:
lens broke
My new freezr helmet lens broke where the lens locks to the front of the helmet. There are two holes drilled in the lens which are snapped down over two small metal posts. The manufacturer refused to replace the lens. I guess when you charge $100 for a replacement lens you don't want to cover the damage.

FreeZR

Pros:
Variable shell sizes, Comfort, Visiblity
Cons:
None So Far
I have been jumping this helmet for a 120 jumps. I do everything from belly work, to freefly and head down in this lid.
I have a small head, and with the option of a small shell size, it not only fits well, it doesn't make me look like a bobble head.
The visor is strong with an excellent closing system. The field of view is wide, and I have no problems seeing my handles.
A previous reviewer was wondering how the helmet would perform in colder weather. Well, up here in Canada, it can get pretty chilly. The coldest jump I ever made was -25C and the FreeZR performed like a champ. Other than some condensation on the visor after opening, no issues.
I would recommend this lid to anyone!!! It is friggin' AWESOME!!!

FreeZR

Pros:
Wide vision, (sun) glasses wearer friendly
Cons:
none so far
Since a lot of reviews about the FreeZr also include that the one who bought it has a big head, I decided to write one as well, but this time that it fits as a glove for smaller heads as well!
When I was looking for a fullface helmet I tried on a few. When I put on the FreeZr, I immediately felt comfortable with it on my head. Lightweight, and good vision all sides. Even tried it on with my rig, could see my handles no problem. Tried it with my sunglasses underneath, because in summer that is what I would do. No problem!
Paratec offers 3 different outer scales, and 6 different padding sizes. So I guess for each head there is a fit! I thought I had a pretty big head, but the XS had best fit. When I put on a Z1 to compare, I immediately took it off again because it wasnt nearly as comfy as the FreeZr.
Had to wait a bit till I could try it out, but now with only 4 jumps with it I have no regrets whatsoever. The first jump I even forgot to fasten my chinstrap, and it didn't come off! (belly flying)
Maybe in due time the stuffing around the chin will become less stiff and then maybe it will come off if I ever forget the chinstrap again, but I have no intention in trying that again.
While flying no problem with fogging, under canopy a little bit, but fixed by breathing out trough my mouth or open the visor a little bit. (tried it while it was -2 degrees)
Opening and closing the visor is a little tricky at first because of the two pins at the sides, but not annoying difficult.
Hope to enjoy my FreeZr for a long time!!

FreeZR
in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'
Pros:
Exellent visibility and comfortability
Cons:
None
I tested a freeZR i the Bedford tunnel in April and became interested in buying one. Received my new one in June and have made about 50 jumps with it.
The helmet fits as if it was tailor made for me!
The visibility is great and it is really comfortable.
I have seen some comments regarding people who sense it as being easy to fall off. That is not my opinion (at least it does not go for me), I think the chin strap has been modified in newer models.
For me it fits so well that even at jumps when I have forgotten to fasten the chin strap, the helmet stays on, does nor move at all...
The visor is easy to open and stays closed even during freeflying activities. The only concern I have is if the closing mechanism/or rather if the hole in the visor, can stand winterjumping with -10-20 degrees Celsius...
In total a fantastic helmet, that does its job!

FreeZR
in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'
Pros:
Outstanding Visibility
Cons:
Some minor visor problems
I am pretty new to the sport and use to wear the ole' Protec but because of a close call, my face hitting the ground when my student rig caught a big gust as I landed, I decided a full face would be best to protect the some $7000.00 worth of braces in my mouth. I tried on the Oxygn, Z1, and factory diver but my big ole' pumpkin head just didn't fit right. Enter the FreeZr. It fits great and has wonderful visibility. The only complaint I have is the left side of the visor sticks and has to be fiddled with to get down, I don't latch that side because it doesn't seem to hurt anything and it stays closed from the other side. I've contacted paratec and am waiting to hear back from them. Other than that great full face I highly recommend it. It's true too, it doesn't fog in them SC winters. :-)

FreeZR

Pros:
I can wear eyewear with it
Cons:
Junk visor operation
After getting ahold of the company, and making them aware of the problems I was having, they sent me an updated side cover, and a new lens to boot! the operation of the visor is as it should be now, so I'm quite happy. The placement of the strap still has me scratching my head, but at least the thing stays on my head! Thanks to the folks at Paratec for caring, their follow up meant alot.

FreeZR
in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'
Pros:
Adjustable Internal padding, visability, cool factor
Cons:
absolutely none!
I've been jumping my FreeZR for about 6 months now and not had one problem with it! I bought it for a number of reasons and it meets them all. Firstly, with having a largeish head, I found it difficult to fit into other full face helmets. With the FreeZR being a standard fit helemt with interchangeable padding to make up the fitting size, I was able to find a perfect fit instantly. I would recomend anyoe who is having problems with their FreeZR to look into changing their padding. Its very easy.
I've got to say that wearing the helmet in freefall feels great. I think people wearing it worry that it feels loose. I think this may simply be due to the superb airflow system it has, as I have tried to take it off whilst still wearing the chin strap to no avail. It doesn't want to come off. It takes a little getting used to but its worth it.
The final plus point is its looks. I've got it in metalic blue, which goes well with the rest of my gear. It certainly makes people take note of you!

FreeZR

Pros:
Big enough for my melon
Cons:
Audible pockets
This was a major find for my big old melon (7 5/8). The XL fit great right out of the box. Not sure what the complaints about security are. If this thing were to come off in flight, I think it would take my head with it! Maybe you have to have a prominent chin for the buckle and strap, but I have had no problems with it. The audible pockets are poorly designed and it usually takes some squishing around to get the audible to settle into a comfortable position.
Had to update based upon GREAT customer service! After about a hundred jumps, I lost the right side fairing (a cover plate over the hinge on the facesheild) and hinge bolt while in freefall (must have whacked it on the plane on exit or something). I temporarily repaired it with a washer, nylon nut and bolt from Home Depot. Contacted PARATEC on their website and was soon contacted by Ken Krueger, the US Paratec representative. Long story short, they not only replaced the missing hinge bolt and fairing, but also provided an upgrade kit to turn my first generation FreeZR into the much improved third generation (improved visor hinges and fairings).
This company really cares about its customers! Great service, great helmet!!!

FreeZR
in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'
Pros:
Comfort
Cons:
Fiddle to get comfortable
I haven't skydived using the Freezr yet but I've just been in the Bodyflight tunnel and have found the helmet to be comfortable, very secure and offering great visibility. My glasses fit in it with ease but I've found that it has taken quite a while to fit my Protrack into a comfortable position. The pocket where it fits is in a horizontal position but I found it much more comfortable in a more vertical orientation.

Review of:
FreeZR
in Unknown Tag: 'cat_linked'
Pros:
visibility
Cons:
security
I've been a Protec jumper in the past; the Freezr is my first fullface. I like it; the visibility is good, and the visor's design seems to work well.
I solved the problem of its not feeling so secure on my head with an additional strap across the back.
I'd demod a couple of other fullface helmets, and didn't like the level of head protection or how close everything was to my face. To me this one is better, and I'm happy with it. Of course, every now and then people give me the "wow look at the size of that helmet" look, but, well, such is life.
