I think that a short bridle and a "small"PC can be a source of hesitation of the extraction of the POD, and therefore cause off heading openings/line twists. But they might be caused by many other factors : body position elastic bands/tubes not equally tense etc, etc etc

From what I understand there needs to be a certain speed of lifting the bag to line stretch to minimise the risk of twists and other problems. Either way it's easy to change the kill line. Hesitations are bad, in several ways. I'd fix it immediately.

Definately! I just retired a pc that was giving me some horrible delays and each one was followed by twists. It seems to me that if the pc isn't 'positive' enough when extracting the dbag then there's more chance of the bag flailing around (for want of a better technical description!) and giving you twists.

Tell me about it.
I only noticed in the last few weeks when I started doing some hop and pops because of bad weather. Got a local rigger to replace the kill line and jumped it this weekend. hay presto no hesitation, also no twists (which I had always assumed were just due to bad packing)

I decided to replace my PC a month ago and just now the thing started to give me problems on hop n pops. Temperature was about -7C the other day. I could probably improve by adjusting the kill line but it is old and I am retiring it.
