I hear CReW dogz go on about canopy matching, are they talking about the exact same canopies or canipies that are loaded the same and have similar flying characteristics?

You can do CRW on a small scale (2-4 stack) with mismatched canopies. That means different wing loadings and different canopies. However, things will be much easier if you have similar canopies at similar wing loadings and as you start getting into bigger formations it becomes more necessary.
Ideal: the same smallish canopy for all at the same wing load. Serious teams will wear lead. Small for higher performance, ie more points.
For casual crew, a similar performance canopy ( not necesseraly the same size, so a Tri 150 and a Lightning 193 at the same loading) at similar wing loads will work...
The further you move from the ideal (same model, same size, same wing load), the less compatible the canopies.
