HALO for civilians

I looked at the old archive posts as well as did a search on the web.So far I found only two DZ's in the US that offer HALO jumps for civilians.One is in Memphis,the other in California.Are there any others? Oldfart
Many DZs offer high altitude jumps on occasion (SCD, Z-hills, etc.). But, if you want to go above 22,000 feet or so (and thereby need bailout oxygen), I only know of two.
The folks at West Tennessee also offered their High Altitude(aprox22000ft) and Very High Altitude(aprox30000ft+) at WFFC 2003 and will probably be back at in 2004. It is highly recommended that you attend a PFT (physiological flight training) course prior to engaging in these jumps, more information pertaining to safety recommendations and access to PFT's is available in the USPA SIM (available online).
These jumps are so much fun and I had a blast doing them.
They were charging like $300+ at WFFC, that included all the gear and training. Kinda steep according to some but for most it was a once in a lifetime jump and were happy to slap their money down.

And for physiological training cost. ie. altitude chamber. It's available at quite a few Air Force base and some Navy installations for a small fee, these days $50. It includes about 6 hours of academics followed by an altitude chamber flight to 25,000 feet. The FAA in Oklahoma City and NASA at JSC, Houston, TX (where I work) offer the course for FREE..........!!
If you go to www.FAA.gov, look for "physiological training", it will route you to a ph#, and POC for setting up the training...............

P.S. Not sure where your located, but he you wish to have the training conducted at NASA, Houston then send me a PM, I'll fix ya up.......Oh, and you need a current FAA flight physical to go thru the chamber.....

In Eloy I did 22K for $25 At taft, I believe they offer 30K with flight training and the works,gotta have a D liscence and... cough....cough ...like $565.
The Eloy boogie rocked. It was the quietest jump plane I have been on as everyone was concentrating on their oxygen and trying to guess at the altitude as all the alties stopped working at about 18,000ft.
I was stoked to test my new neptune! everyone else was like "how high are we now?" I felt a little funny on the way down, and my Z1 Iced up a little but I had a blast doing over 190 mph in a stand! for $25 I'll take that over 13K any day!

At WFFC you had the option of using your own rig or sing a military MT-XX HALO rig. They provided the rig if you wanted to go that route. I think everyone used their own rig.
