Anybody got any data on what the range of gear weight ( you have to add to your own weight to give your exit weight).....is
Alot of peepes are quoting 25lbs...but is that for that tiny lil rig the intsructors wear,,,whats a realistic number for a 230 main/220 reserve new rig....any ideas ?

My Racer SST with similar canopies weighs in at 22. You'l be +/- 1 from that, most likely. Our student gear weighs about 30.

I have a 190 main and 176 reserve in a Wings W-13 container. We weighed it right after putting it together and it was 23lbs. I think I use 30 lbs. for gear though, allowing 7 more for helmet, jumpsuit, altimeter, lunch, etc. That might be a little on the conservative side for me, but with your gear being a little larger than mine, I'd say 30 lbs. for everything would be real close.

most dropzones I've been too have a scale they use to weigh students prior to a tandem ( the ones who look like they may be pushing the limit). Gear up and weigh yourself.

Put your rig on, and step on your bathroom scale. That's your exit weight.

Depends on the rig though. Racer's are a good bit lighter than most others.

I add 35 lbs for my gear including rig, jumpsuit, clothing, helmet, footgear.

My rig accounts for about 30 lbs.

Its a Vector 3 V357 with a Sabre2 210 and a PD-218R

My rig is 21lbs. Mirage G3 size M3X(stainless hardware if it makes any difference), PD160R, Sabre2 150, Cypres. It weighed 19lbs when I was jumping a Stiletto 120. The Mirage is supposedly a fairly heavy rig, though.
