Booties Can't Post

How much difference does using booties make? I've done a couple of WARP jumps without booties and can fly ok without them, but I would like to hear everyone's opinions on them so I know what to expect.

You can miss out on a record jump if you bootie comes off mid-jump. Laugh

Seriously though, they make a huge difference. A lot of folks liken it to "power steering" and that's not too far off.

I did an RW jump with just my freefly clothes (not a suit, just bagy clothes) on last weekend because I wanted to see how I'd do. I made it in OK, but everything felt "mushy" to me.

Then I put my RW suit on for the remaining jumps. It reconfirmed what a difference the booties make. I felt much more in control & able to make more minute adjustments than without them.

If you do get them, be aware that you get *serious* forward drive with them. So you're likely to blow past the formation until you get the feel for them.

Good luck!

Put it this way. They keep your ankles warm in the plane! No seriously, I was crap at tracking until I got booties. They really helped.

Get them. They will make turning and forward movement so much more responsive.

And as e150 said, they turn an average track into a good track (and a good track into a great oneWink)...

plus, they make turning to the dark side that much more difficult... lol
