The word was they were supposed to start shipping around the beginning of May, so I'd guess it'd be any time now, if they're on track.. I'd like to see one also.
It records based on time, not on jump # forinstance where the protrak records detailed info for the last 10 jumps, the neptune records detailed info till it can't anymore (not sure the total amount of time it can record).. this is important with birdman jumps as some of our jumps exceed the record time for the protrak.
The software will be out in september but they don't know if it will be free or not, you beam your info via infra red port.
Software updates to the firmware are free, again it is done through infra red port.
I was just asking someone the other day and he said the same thing and he already has a list of people wanting them.He did say it would be a better product than the pro-track and planned on getting one himself.
either way, still cheaper than bluetooth. and why do you need 12 MB/s + when a Ir diode on something like that won't be able to transmit at those speeds?

Mark my words Bluetooth will be the standard..... i mean already you have major auto, Photography, wireless communications (cell phones) are totally going with bluetooth.... I will pay the 30.00 bucks to get a usb bluetooth adapter now, they will be standard in pc's in no time....
No doubt, when bluetooth is standard in 99% of pc's out there. Bear in mind most people won't have it on their pc, even though all NEW machines might have it

yeah, but say 1.5 - 2 years.... i mean 802.11b is awsome (my house runs on it) but i still think modern manufactors need to build in the new technology i mean how cool would it be to just set the helmet down and pull the data...... no fuss at all....
