Hey, what's the name of the reinforced sewing that connects the lines when they have cascaded? It's usually a grey line of thread. What's that section called?

The primary function of bar-tacks is to hold the cascade joint while un-loaded. As soon as you load a finger-trapped joint, the outer line squeezes the inner line, preventing any more slippage.
