angle flying on your belly Can't Post

When you fly on our belly (angle flying), we put our hand behind or torso/back....

when I do that, most of the time, I fly with the palm of my hand facing down (so palm the same orientation than my belly....). Some guys fly it the opposite way (so the palm facing the sky...)

What do you prefer and do you have any reason why? I guess just changing the orientation of the hand change also your shoulder.... but for me, I just fly nicer one way.... but I was wandering if it worth it to change my flying position if I want to become better at it ! So do I already have a bad habit that I should get off of it?

I already done a flight camp on angle flying but I was more concern of flying on my back at that time.... I already register to another UPT flight camp this summer but I want to practice the good way before I get there....

thank's for the info

I do it palms up. I feel more relaxed that way, specially at full speed, and it helps by pushing on the wind to have a steeper angle.

It's difficult to say this is the good way because some very good FFyer (Vince Reffet ..) are doing the other way.

A small exemple

If you turn your hands so your palms are are facing the sky you automatically pull your shoulders a little bit forward, you cup more, so you get more lift. Depending on your position this might help your flying. blue skies

Luis Prinetto is one of the worlds best. You should study his body positions ;p

You can rotate your hand without moving your arm or shoulder. Your forearm will twist some...but that's all.
You can get more surface area palms up, though. Simply because you can get your arm to turn sideways and your triceps adds more surface area. Again, though...minimal difference that you probably wont even notice.
Just fly what you're comfortable with.

Besides this is wouldn't make any difference it's not even true. Palms down has exposes more surface area. Not that it would make a difference anyways.
